The setting is great. Lots of space between sites, the roads and sites are paved and easy to navigate. Everything is very clean. The power and water are easy to access. The sites are not perfectly level but our automatic leveling system did not have a problem compensating. The bathrooms and showers are excellent. I would have rated it higher but the lack of sewer connection at the site brings it down. We will stay here again. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Would rate it a 10 if it had sewer hook up. Very nice park. Trees/shade, big rig access, dump had easy access. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice State Park. The roads and sites were asphalt although most sites are quite a bit out of level. Hookups were water and electric only. It is an absolutely beautiful setting. The showers and bathrooms were clean. The hot water was warmish at best. I would really like to give this park a higher score but no sewer, poor wifi and no amenities to speak of. It's only an 8 out of 10. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Loved Kartchner State Park! Sites are well spaced apart with Mesquite trees between. Can hardly see our neighbors! Restrooms and Showers are immaculate! Park is well maintained. Easy to navigate roads. Cool at night even in April. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Kartchner Caverns are rated number one in the US. Have two different cave tours- Big Room and Throne room. Big Room shuts down April 15 for six months to allow returning female bats to return from hibernation, hang around and give birth. Amazing formations! Tombstone is around 30 miles from Kartchner and is a fun touristy way to spend the day and $$. First time riding in an authentic stage coach!

Love staying at this state park. Sites are spacious and nice hiking. First time we have taken a tour in the caves. Very nice experience in the beautiful cave. You must have reservations far in advance. Can't wait to go back. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice RV park. Very close access to the Discovery Center and cavern tours. We had 30 amp power, but rather low water pressure. There is a centrally located dump station. Our site was level side to side, but VERY unlevel front to back. I had to raise my trailer 14" to get level. It took a lot of wood planks to get everything fairly steady. The trees needed to be trimmed to keep from rubbing on the side of our trailer while we were in the designated parking area. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Make reservations for the campground and cavern tours months ahead of time if possible. They both fill up quickly. If you only have time for one of the two cavern tours, I'd suggest the Big Room tour. It is more extensive and you'll see a wider variety of formations.

Very nice park but limited space in the winter due to snowbirds, but we stayed one night in the overflow parking area. For $16 we used their water fill station and dump facilities. It is a beautiful park well worth the visit, even if we did have to stay in the overflow parking area. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the cave & historic display, watched Javalina from our coach window. Beautiful sunrise view, only a couple hours drive to Bigsbee AZ. Very nice park but limited space in the winter due to snowbirds, but we stayed one night in the overflow parking area. Paid $16 but we used their water fill station and dump facilities the next morning. It is a beautiful park well worth the visit, even if we did have to stay in the overflow parking area.

Overall Rating:

This is a scenic, well-laid out, spacious RV park in two asphalt loops. Spaces are gravel and firm. Spaces have a fire ring and a picnic table (although the table for my space had been moved to the "other" side by a previous guest. Spaces are unusually wide and most have small trees that are without leaves this time of the year. Hookups in the pull-thru spaces are at the rear of the pad and some campers may need extension for their hoses and cables. Wi-fi was better than expected with few interruptions. There are well-marked walking trails from the campground to the visitor center and the nearby hiking paths. Location is well off the highway and set beyond the visitor center and parking lot for non-campers. Greeting at the entry gate was friendly and clear directions were provided using the park brochure and map. The campground host was off, but a relief team came by soon after I set up to make sure everything was ok. I could have asked to have the table relocated to its normal place but didn't since cool, breezy weather made it unlikely I would spend time outside. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Back-in sites are wide and well spaced, offering excellent views. Tours of the caverns sell out quickly; I wasn't able to book same day. Benson is about 10 miles north and offers a Safeway and Walmart.

Really nice state park with paved trailer parking, electric hook-up and water. Dump station available. Hiking and biking can be done right from the campground. Good area for birding and also saw deer. Not far from Tombstone, Sierra Vista, and other interesting sites. Easy back-in sites and pull-through sites are also available. Cave tours are great and the Bat Cave Restaurant has good breakfast burritos and coffee. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The park is very quiet and very well maintained. So many stars at night. Very nice hiking trails. The town of Benson is nearby. All the trees in the campground are short and round and appear dead. No shade. We stayed in space 32. Our fire ring was on the turn of the road so it felt like people were walking right by us. The space across from us, #33, I would NOT recommend. It runs along the back of the 4 cabins. While we were there they were all full with lots of adults/kids. I would recommend this campground, and looking forward to staying here again. The Caverns are a must see. Amazing. We had a great time. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice. clean, and well run park with an attraction of the caverns. Expensive for a so-so tour, but again, clean and interesting. The welcome center has excellent displays of cavern history and facts. Not near much else, but quiet and peaceful. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

You will not find a more quiet peaceful stay! Do they have all the amenities...no! We booked 2 weeks in advance and still did not get a site with sewer or 50amp, just 30amp. If you have a large holding tank you will be fine, or you pull up stakes and use their dump area. The water pressure at our site was 20 pounds, barely enough to get wet in our shower! We stayed 5 nights. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are "healthy" there are two hiking trails in the park. The easiest being the Foothills Loop. The more difficult and long Guindani Loop...take food and water is a must on the Guindani Loop.

This is our third visit to Kartchner Caverns and have always enjoyed the park. Hosts have been very friendly and helpful. On a clear night, the sky bursts with stars. We would have rated a 10, but the State decided to replace all bbq's with fire pits so I needed to use propane grill instead. Look forward to our next visit.
