We stay at a lot of government campgrounds and love them. This one may be the exception. First, there are two kinds of camping here: RV park and Campgrounds (no hookups). 3/4 of all the Campground sites are blocked off and in the two loops that are open the sites are very small. Our 40' MH had trouble squeezing into the larger ones. There is a lot of road construction going on which is a good thing to see but there is only one road in and out and there are 30 min waits going in each direction. The oleander bushes really need some trimming. Verizon service is OK 4G for data but only 1X for my 3G phone. We camped at Katherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

$5 per night (using the Golden Age Passport, $10 without) was for a mostly level site that was surrounded by a generous area of sand/gravel and beautiful desert vegetation including large oleander plants, which offered privacy for each site. Each primitive site has a concrete picnic table and fire ring. This campground is located on the outskirts of Bullhead City where every amenity is available. Our site had a 360? view of the surrounding valleys and mountains. Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers plenty of outdoor activities including hiking and biking trails, rock climbing, boating, fishing, hunting, and picnicking. AT&T and Verizon service were three ? four bars of LTE. There were over 20 OTA TV stations and we received many radio stations including HD stations. We camped at Katherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $30.00

This park is partly a mobile homes park and has RV sites as well. We used this park as a planned overnight stop and were satisfied with it. Personnel was friendly, facilities were clean and it was quiet in the night. The RV sites are all gravel and arranged in a circle with no trees or bushes so there is not much shade or privacy between sites. There is one or two grills on the lawn in the middle of the RV sites circle. I wouldn't come here to spend my holiday, but I definitely would stay there again for an overnight stop or two. Oh, there's also a store in the park down at the lake shore that has some basic supplies. We camped at Katherine's Landing in a Truck Camper.

I guess you could give this park a 10 because they only charge 10, i don't know but I wish there were more places to stay like this that when passing through, you could get by with ten dollars. Their were no hook-ups, and thats ok for ten bucks at night. It got pretty quiet even when the bikers rally was going on, outside of the summer months I would stay here again. We camped at Katherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

We were passing through the area yesterday and decided to check out Katherine's Landing to see what it would be like to camp there in the fall/winter. We had quite a surprise when we came into the area as all the four camp areas on the left side of the road were closed to camping and reserved for boating overflow, not a sole in any of the four areas. The only one they had open was on the right side by the rangers office and what a site to see! It looks as if the camp workers had lived there since earth's creation as they had more trash/junk stashed around their campsite than I had ever seen. In addition they had a few campsites occupied by people living out of their cars; it looked as if they were homeless with no place to go. I wonder if they (the park rangers) collected the $10.00 camp fee from them. If this is what our NFS campgrounds are becoming and with the cost of camping in them going up also, I wonder who is pocketing the money as all the help is strictly volunteer. It's a shame to see what we are paying for and getting in return from the National Park Service, maybe this is the exception, but it should be looked into. I have notified the National Park Service of my findings at Katherine's Landing and requested that they look into it. We camped at Katherine's Landing in a Travel Trailer.
