Very nice park, well cared for. We only had two issues which we are not real thrilled about. It seems like a fair amount of the staff smoked so the park seemed very smoker friendly so if you smoke great. Also, the sites are not level and if you use blocks to level it may a little tough. Overall nice place. We would stay here again. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Very close to Montezuma Well and Castle, Fort Verde and casino. About a half hour from the other attractions in the area Jerome, Sedona, Slide Rock, Toozigut, etc.
Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $35.00
Check in easy, had reservation for specific site and got it. Park easy to maneuver, even big rigs no problem. Escort to site that knew slope and actually knew how to help! Great job! Watched how others were placed and always great with helping. They have limited pull thru sites so make reservation if you want one. Pull thru's long enough so you do not have to unhook. Sites raked after each person. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
Like I said before, make reservation if you want a pull thru.
Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $31.00
We started out with an error in our reservation and a site that we could not get level on but the park handled both issues well and looked after us. We were in one of their "motorhome" sites that are drive-in which was almost as convenient as a pull-thru and we had ample parking for our toad. The site and patio were concrete, surrounded by grass and trees/shrubs. We'll be back. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Montezuma Castle and Well, Jerome, Sedona, Verde Vally Railroad and much more all within an easy day-trip distance.

Very nice park with paved roads and pads. Great facilities, including pool, hot tub, laundry, workout center. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo

Everything about this park is nice. The check-in at the office was done professionally and pleasantly. The guy who directed us to our site was polite and helpful, and the facility itself is nicely kept. We stopped en route to Utah and would stay here again any time. A very nice spot. My only complaint is that the pull-through spaces are very tight with very little space between. It could have been our own space, as we got the last one available, so maybe the others are wider. There are trees planted, but not big enough to provide shade during summer months. This park caters to adults but does not prohibit children. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Park provides a shuttle to a nearby casino, however we did not use it.
Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $33.00
Nicely laid out park with attractive plantings and raked gravel around sites. Water pressure a little low, Wi-Fi limited to one device and was slow. Utility connections were easy. Site pads - some cement, some gravel - were somewhat sloped. Office staff service was uneven. Nice hiking trails around park. Rate reflects week-long stay. Rate reflects Good Sam's discount. This is one of our favourite campsites and our 4th visit. It is clean, well maintained and well tended shrubs and plants. The roads are tarmac with hard standing sites. Friendly staff, shown to site on arrival and trash collection from site, these two features are becoming more rare at campsites. There is a free shuttle to the casino if required. Easy access from the I-17 but very little highway noise. We certainly recommend and as stated before we would give a perfect 10 but the poor wifi lets them down, a feature that is needed in this technological age. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $42.00
I simply do not give out 10s but this is as close to one as I can get. The place is spotless, the staff is great, etc - what more can I say. We have been here many times - use it for our first night out, last couple of nights coming home - best laundry we have ever seen in now 168 parks we have stayed in, and for when we want to spend time up there for Sedona, etc. Highly recommend. Paid $18 with Passport America rate for 1 night only. Very nice park with a nice pool, hot tub, large patio, and large kitchen, I'm guessing for groups. All sites do not have tables but large sites and paved. The whole park slopes a little downhill but not too much that it affects getting your rig level with a few blocks. Very nice showers. I will stay here again We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo

This is one of the best parks in AZ. Roads are paved, sites are concrete and level. The park is very well maintained - the gravel between sites is raked everyday. There is a very good pet run and a great path through the desert to walk your dog. There is a little road noise but the convenient access from the highway and shuttle to the casino easily offsets the noise. The showers are clean and private (large enough for 2). Pool is nice. They also have multiple events and pot luck dinners during the month. Definitely will stay here again. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $42.00
This site is one of Good Sam's top 100 sites. It probably does get 10/10/10 on their scale, but it lacks character and atmosphere. It sits on the side of Interstate 17, with some sites as close as 20 uninterrupted yards to the highway; the traffic noise is obvious. Most sites have no views. Our site had one of the few small areas of grass in front of it, but looked over a construction storage site. The location is poor. You are over 20 miles to Sedona, and apart from the local casino 400 yards away, you are 3-4 miles from Camp Verde, which consists of a small number of local businesses and a handful of restaurants. You can understand why this is simply a stopover site. Accepts Good Sam and one night Passport America at $21. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $24.00
This is one of our favourite campsites. The rate reflects for this stay a summer special discount. Once again the sites are clean and well maintained as are the pool and spa area. Very helpful friendly staff. As ever our only minus point is that the Internet is very flaky/poor but we really do recommend this campsite and will certainly stay here again. Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $20.00
The rate reflects Passport America. We have stayed here several times. All the sites are concrete and the roads are asphalt. The electric is dependable, even on the hot day that we were there. You will be hard pressed to find a better park! We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $36.00
We had first stopped at a neighboring campground that was full, so decided to stop at Distant Drums to see if they had availability, and they did. This is a beautifully manicured park with concrete sites that are level, and with full hook-ups. The sites are arranged such that not all of them are side by side. Access to the park is easy. The ladies working in the office were pleasant, but it appeared they were new at working there. There was an escort to the site. There was a nice laundry room, although several of the machines were out of order. The showers/bathrooms appeared clean. There is a fenced dog run. The only downside to the park is that the park wifi is practically non-existent, but we were told that at the time we registered. Wifi seemed to work well if you sat in the office. This park offers both Passport America and Good Sam discounts; however, there are many restrictions with the Passport America discount (no discounts in April). If you want to receive the Passport America discount, it's best to check the Passport America site to see when it can be used at this park, as it's very limited. We would stay here again if passing through the area. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $44.00
This is a nicely manicured park with concrete slabs and pull-thrus (which cost extra). Lots of stuff was broken when we were here. The phones and WiFi were down, the hot tub was broken, the pool was too cold to swim in, but they still want a fortune to stay here, in the middle of nowhere. If you are visiting the casino, there is a free shuttle. Best attraction in the area is Fossil Creek. The check-in is excruciating. Took over 20 minutes even with no one ahead of us. They ask for way too much unnecessary personal information and hand type it in. Next time, we will simply stay in the casino lot next door for free than pay these prices.
