We wound up staying here last minute because the park we were booked at was not acceptable. Very clean, great amenities, and big rig friendly. We were escorted to our cul-de-sac site which was different. The sites were asphalt with gravel landscaping. We had a wonderful view of the mountains. The lot was completely full but still felt like you had space. It is across the highway from a casino which is convenient for dining and such. They had a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the clubhouse for anyone who wanted to participate with tacos and you could bring a pot of something. Everyone was very friendly. We stayed 4 nights and would stay again! We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Clean, good power & water. The sites are sufficiently wide enough, however the roads are barely wide enough to back in a 38 or larger rig. We were successful, however it was challenging. Facility is well maintained and had a fresh appearance. Paved roads, and paved sites. Verizon did not work well and we utilized the wifi at the office lobby. The "7" rating is due to the tight roads, otherwise it would have been and 8 or 9. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The roads are paved and easily navigable. Some of the back-ins are difficult to get into because of poorly placed posts. The park was very clean and the staff was very helpful. Utilities are convenient. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A popular place, so thinking ahead is a good idea. There is free ONP down by the casino. Very clean park, nice campsites with concrete pads. WiFi only within a short radius of office now, but they say it will be greatly improved and able to reach everyone later this month. Cell service was OK. Nice laundry, but only 4 washers and two were out of order. Very efficient parking assistance - almost all sites are back in. They have cable, but I easily received antenna TV. This campground has the BEST FITNESS ROOM I HAVE EVER SEEN IN A CAMPGROUND. They don't give it a very big space, but they have quality equipment plus a good assortment of free weights. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very clean, but very crowded RV resort. In our section of back-in sites, motorhomes and fifth wheels were crammed together with their tow vehicles like a jigsaw puzzle, and the park was 100% full. Cars get parked next to their motorhomes on the camping side, with the row behind offset by one so that our motorhome backed up to our neighbor's car behind us, and their motorhome was backed in almost to our car. Thus, sites overlap, there is little or no "camping space" available, and parts of motorhomes or trailers are literally right next to the motorhome in the row behind. I've never seen overlapping sites like this before. There were other parts of the resort that had more expensive sites with better spacing. Decorative shrubs along the side of our site made it difficult to get into our wet bay to hook up our water and sewer. On the bright side, our site was very level. After we checked in we were told to wait for an escort to our site. Unfortunately we waited 20 minutes (no exaggeration) for an escort to take us the 200 yards to our site. After the first 15 minutes of waiting I asked the desk if I could just drive there myself but they said due to liability reasons we have to wait for an escort. We saw several of the WiFi access points with strong signal but were never able to connect to any of them. Our Verizon and AT&T worked well. There is a decent-sized fenced dog park, and a dirt road leading out of the campground to a Forest Service road which was great for longer walks. Despite the proximity to the interstate, highway noise was not a major problem, which was nice. We were able to receive a UPS delivery at the resort, which was another plus. Electric worked very well, but water pressure was low. We filled our tank (slowly) and used our RV's water pump instead. We might stay here for a night or two in the future when we need full hookups, but might look for someplace a little less cramped instead. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The park is very nice and clean. The only issue, when the guy guided us in, he was a bit bossy and told us we didn't need to straighten up. (We did). The site was very unlevel from right to left, bordering on dangerous. When we tried to level out our leving system kept saying out of stoke. (We should have requested a differnt site.) Thank goodness for the Man next to us, he helped us jack up the trailer with lots of boards. So that we could get by. It's a great park and the management is nice, just check out your spot first. Outstanding customer service, cleanliness and location. Although adjacent to highway, surprisingly quiet since it lies low, buffered by surrounding terrain. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Clean level sites. All the services you need. At peak times, WiFi may be spotty, but solved using clubhouse locations. (At least WiFi is provided and it is free of charge, unlike other parks). More scenic than you would guess from highway. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Beautifully maintained campground. Sites are ample for big rig and tow. Campground staff is both professional and helpful. Services worked well and were in excellent condition. Most lots are paved, but a few in the back where we stayed were gravel. No problem as they were well cared for. Laundry neat and clean but with only two working machines was a problem. Great people and helpful. We had a couple of problems, not their fault, but they helps us instantly. We chose here over Sedona and glad we did. we spent 4 nights. Restrooms were like a home with toilet, sink and shower in a very large private room. Paved roads and concrete pad. Convient to Casino if you gamble, we didn't. Also, close to several points of interest. Coffee in the morning and popcorn in the evening. Good place to walk pets and a very nice pet pen but no grass. Arizona park just don't have grass in the dog pens. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

It's a top-notch campground. It's immaculate, beautifully maintained, with a wonderful, friendly, professional staff. Most of the sites are very level. Some sites are all concrete; others are gravel with a concrete patio. We stayed at the campground on two separate occasions. The first we had a pull through site #79. Our slide broke, good news it was stuck in, and staff suggested "A-1 RV Service Center", about 20 minutes from the campground. Our second visit was to have the slide repaired and we were in a back in site #14. We had a couple of trees that help shade the motorhome in the morning. The bathrooms are private bathrooms; sink, toilet, and shower in a private room. Again, immaculate also updated. The WiFi is iffy unless you are in the lobby; they are supposed to be in the process of updating the system. During our visit the pool heater broke, but the spa heater was working fine and we were able to enjoy the spa. Great clean laundry room, $1.75 to wash and $1.75 to dry. They have five washing machines and nine dryers and the dryers don't get too hot. There's a workout room and they have some "BYOB Happy Hours", which we were unable to enjoy. Verizon did not work well in the park. My husband's "dumb" phone worked better on calls than my "smart" phone. However, I could use my phone as a hotspot. We would stay again in a nano-second. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

If you need repairs, A-1 RV Service Ctr. is the place, 928-567-0055. The owner, Dan French, is a really nice man, came through w/ his promises, & did a great job. Need windshield repair? Mr Windshield is the guy, 928-646-6640. He came out & repaired a nick. He works well w/ most insurances. The campground is near Montezuma's Castle & Well, Tuzigoot Nat'l Monument, Jerome & Sedona.

Enjoyed our stay. The CG is about 45 minutes from Sedona but is close to other fun attractions in the area as well. The sites are wide and paved but getting into and out of ours took care. Ours was a pull in and that was relatively easy and a park person really did a great job helping. Getting out was tricky too as the interior roads are somewhat narrow. All worked out OK though. Wifi was good. The park had some nice landscaping and was well maintained. Staff were excellent. We are planning on a return visit. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Wanted to stay in Sedona but no availability so came here and so glad we did. They escorted us to our site and helped us back in. We really liked it here. Had a W&E site in the lower area for 3 days. Nice view of sunset over the mountains each night. This is a very neat and tidy park. Raked gravel and a bit of landscaping at each site. Nice 3 story clubhouse, 6 very nice private shower/rest rooms. Very large fenced dog park. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

When visiting Sedona, catch the sunset up on airport road. There is a designated overlook with a large parking lot. Magical! Mariposa is a great restaurant - reservations recommended for dinner. Traffic is a real drawback so allow extra time especially in the afternoon. Jerome is a quirky must see, take in the museum. Lots of cute shops in Cottonwood. Discovered that there are lots of wineries in this area as well.
