Distant Drums is a newer park adjacent to the Cliff Castle Casino with a great restaurant (Storytellers - we really enjoyed the food and ambiance) The sites are cement with paved streets and they provide an escort to your site. We had a pull-In site which was really easy to get in and out. We took advantage of the exercise room and showers and both were spotless, so was the laundry room. The staff was very accommodating. There was a pool but we never used that. Fairly good selection on television. We were very happy with our stay and have been coming here for 4 years now - always have chosen this RV resort for its cleanliness and easy access on and off of the highway. Our dog also loves to go to the large gated pet area and for walks around the trails in front of our site. Highly recommend! We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Old Town Camp Verde offered restaurants and shopping also a GREAT Ace Hardware...just minutes from the park. Not too far from Cottonwood and Old Town Cottonwood is a fun place to visit while you are here. A great spot to see many attractions and Sedona is really close!

Very clean and friendly park. We only stayed 2 nights and didn't use many of the facilities. We would stay there again if in the area. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautifully maintained park. Everything is clean. All sites are in full sun. None of them are level. All have concrete pads and patios. Wifi did not work in site #3. Small pool. Shuttle bus to casino. Near Camp Verde town center, with more casinos and restaurants. Passport America was good for one night, I think because we were there on the fourth of July. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a great park. Nice paved spots will laid out. The only reason we don't give this a ten is it appears none of the spots are level. Ours certainly wasn't. We would stay here again. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A clean, well-maintained park. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The roads inside the park are a bit narrow - I witnessed several folks with longer 5th wheels having a difficult time backing into their spots, but the escorts are pretty good at directing you into the spaces. This was our first experience in a "pull-in" spot where you pull-in forward instead of backing in or pulling-through. The view outside out windshield was worth the minimal challenge it was backing out. The pool is nice, all the facilities are clean and well maintained. The hookups are just about the easiest we've ever had - they're right where they're supposed to be, not stretched out from one corner of your rig to the other. One thing I will say - I don't understand a park pouring concrete pads so out of level. Our front tires had to be about 3" off the ground to level front-to-back, and every other site I looked at around us was the same. Oh well, it was a small price to pay for such a nice park. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

So much to do and see in the area. Sedona speaks for itself, but Jerome and Cottonwood are also must-sees. Lots of great food and shopping in both, and quite a few wine tasting rooms as well. One word of caution: Jerome has extremely steep, twisty and narrow streets to navigate. Fine if you're in a car, but a big dually might have some issues parking and anything larger might have an issue just getting through town.

We used Distant Drums as a base for exploring the surrounding area and Sedona during a week long stay, so glad we did. This is an immaculately kept resort that takes pride in its facilities, and it shows. The entrance/office area is wide and lengthy allowing plenty of room to unhooked a towed vehicle before entering the park. An escort guides you to your spot and the staff ensures you are settled in your spot comfortably. The site we stayed in was pea gravel which was freshly raked before our arrival. Most sites are full concrete slab. Either arrangement is fine as the gravel is dustless and extremely tidy. For perimeter motorhome sites you drive in and face outwards of the facility, back out when you leave. It makes for a spectacular view out your front window. The site we were in was roomy and private. There was room beside our RV for parking our towed car. The facilities are excellent with a pool that is well kept and comfortable for lounging around. The laundry room is good, but two machines were down while we were there making it a busy spot. Staff is extremely helpful and courteous, we received lots of great advice on things to see in the local area from the front desk. It has excellent on/off hwy access. And while it is located near the highway, traffic noise was not prevalent or something that kept us awake. We will definitely stay here again, and would not hesitate in recommending it to others. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We wound up staying here last minute because the park we were booked at was not acceptable. Very clean, great amenities, and big rig friendly. We were escorted to our cul-de-sac site which was different. The sites were asphalt with gravel landscaping. We had a wonderful view of the mountains. The lot was completely full but still felt like you had space. It is across the highway from a casino which is convenient for dining and such. They had a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the clubhouse for anyone who wanted to participate with tacos and you could bring a pot of something. Everyone was very friendly. We stayed 4 nights and would stay again! We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Clean, good power & water. The sites are sufficiently wide enough, however the roads are barely wide enough to back in a 38 or larger rig. We were successful, however it was challenging. Facility is well maintained and had a fresh appearance. Paved roads, and paved sites. Verizon did not work well and we utilized the wifi at the office lobby. The "7" rating is due to the tight roads, otherwise it would have been and 8 or 9. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A popular place, so thinking ahead is a good idea. There is free ONP down by the casino. Very clean park, nice campsites with concrete pads. WiFi only within a short radius of office now, but they say it will be greatly improved and able to reach everyone later this month. Cell service was OK. Nice laundry, but only 4 washers and two were out of order. Very efficient parking assistance - almost all sites are back in. They have cable, but I easily received antenna TV. This campground has the BEST FITNESS ROOM I HAVE EVER SEEN IN A CAMPGROUND. They don't give it a very big space, but they have quality equipment plus a good assortment of free weights.
