We booked this stay online. We were given a weekly rate at $178 plus taxes which worked out to about $30/night. We saw the reviews about how they are fixing up and re-doing a lot of the park and were hoping for improvement when we got there. We arrived on a Sunday and picked up our assigned spot at the office since no one was in the office. The site they assigned us to was cramped in between 2 long stay vehicles one with 2 big dogs running unleashed and a tree that probably would not allow for us to put out slides. There were other sites vacant so we looked at the ones in the box assigned to others arriving that day and any that would have worked were already assigned. We looked at their policy about canceling and said they would charge $10 for it. They had already charged our credit card $30. We left them a note apologizing for the cancelation and told them we could see good things happening, but we were heading elsewhere for the night. We emailed them as well that night and said we would be expecting a $20 credit. They have made no attempt at communicating with us or given us the credit. You can see that they are making improvements and hopefully in the future it will be a nice park. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

I appreciate the fact that the new owners are trying to create a beautiful park but at the time we were there it was just a run-down location with no amenities. True they were coming sometimes in the future. Their sign says spring 2017 (not a chance). For what we got the rate was way too high and they did not accept Good Sam's (even thought they have a Good Sam's rating). The sites were gravel and grass or should I say weeds. But they were level and the services were good (we had 50amp). There was no dog park. You had to walk them on the gravel roads. The grass was not really grass but some sort of prickly weed that the dogs refused to walk on. While we were there there was a lot of construction equipment used digging up septic tanks or grading the grounds of the yet to open club house pool and spa. Need I say dusty. I saw the drawings of what they want the park to be in the future but would not return until they occurred. The rate is too high for what they have now. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

This is a park in transition. New owners are making changes to the resort, adding getaway cabins and improving facilities. Presently, sites are grass and gravel with convenient utilities. A new laundry and restroom facility is clean and a good change from the past. Staff was friendly and helpful, the office now in the old KOA building in the campground. There was some hint that PPA would not be honored soon. The location is quiet, permanent residents are located in the back of the campground, nearest the Verde River. Wouldn't be our first choice but could return here in the future. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for a full month. Great hosts and managers. The park is undergoing major renovations and will become a premier resort when finished. We felt safe and made many new friends while here. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

This park use to belong to the Western Horizons network. Was sold a year or so ago. There was lots of talk about all the improvements they were going to do. So far they have built a work shop up close to the road and the clubhouse has been started on.....outside is covered and painted put inside looks like everything just stopped. Ran out of money already? The grounds leave a lot to be desired. The first row or two below the ditch look like they are watered and mowed. The middle section where we parked is overrun with weeds.....specifically bullheads/goatheads! They are horrible! You have to stand at the door of your rig and spend 5-10 minutes pulling the thorns off the bottoms of your shoes anytime you go outside. And if you have a dog it will be hell for them and their feet. While walking the dog in the evenings it appears that this lower section of the park is being turned into a trailer park....lots of rigs that have obviously been parked for more than a week or two. Parked vehicles with entire back window broken out, etc., etc. I'm pretty sure we are going to find a different place to stay next time we are in the area. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

The park was peaceful and quiet. The sites were large and shady, gravel and grass. The young owners are making updates to the park and when finished it will be great! Dog friendly. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

This was our first time in this park. I do realize that the park was just sold, and they do have big plans to upgrade the park. We will stay here again. Very friendly staff, grounds are well kept, very little leveling required. Just a safe and comfortable feeling. We camped here in our motorhome. First time, ROD membership. We paid $5.00 per night for 50amp. Large, clean, level backin full hookup site. Trees, & good rooftop satellite reception. Verizon service, LTE. Park was pretty empty, 95-100* temps could be why! Check in was quick, effortless & friendly. Additional parking was available for our towed trailer. Park was clean & safe feeling. So much to do in this area! We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Would have given this campground a 10, it is a great spot and very quiet, and friendly managers, but this campground needs lots of TLC. Sites are gravel/gras, in the open or under the beautiful trees. Only a few 50 amp. During our stay the (big) pool was cold. No existing WiFi, we used McDonalds down the road. The staff tried everything, but after a week it was no-existing. Lots to do in the neighborhood. Pickleball court was there, but totally broken like all the other amenities. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a very poor experience with someone in the office who I presume was the manager. She told us that we had underpaid by several dollars during the first force days visit at the park but we needed to pay more for the last three when I declined because I realize that she was ignorant of the pricing structure that she had agreed to with Coast To Coast memberships we opted to check out and find other accommodations for the next three nights. If you get the right person in the office you can have a good time at the park it is level, secluded, and spacious. However if you get the wrong person in the office be prepared to either overpay by three times or prove to the office staff that your price is the one they should charge. Because people to people trumps people to campsite I cannot give this campsite any more than two buttons had this person not been ignorant rude and inconsiderate I would give this campground eight buttons. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Rate is Resorts of Distinction. Level sites. Dusty dirt roads. Very few 50 amp sites and they are taken as soon as available so plan on getting 30 amp. Verizon signal and throughput is better than it used to be. Host was friendly and helpful when we checked in after office closed. Bathrooms and laundry were clean and worked fine. Park is nothing special but we had no problems. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Gravel roads and sites. Office open 9am to 1pm 6 days, no Sundays. Camp host site is well marked. WHR members can receive mail. Verizon cell & hotspot worked well. Rooftop dish worked well. 50a, water & sewer worked OK. Pool was very nice and not busy. Lots of room. Very peaceful RV park. Lots of small thistles in the grass. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a basic park with dusty gravel roads and not much going on during the summer (too hot). They do have weekly activities during the winter months. There are lots of sticky fox tail weeds so pet owners need to be mindful of that. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Price is ROD. There certainly is nothing special about this park but it works. Almost impossible to get one of the few 50 amp sites (at least if you are ROD). Sites are level and long enough. We don't require frills so the park works for us. My only beef is the extremely dusty roads in the park. Every vehicle that drives by sends a cloud of dirt in the air. Laundry is cheap. Verizon 3G throughput was OK most of the time. We camped at Verde River RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.
