This is definitely not a destination RV resort but then it doesn't purport to be. The RV park itself is just up a small rise from the Texaco/convenience store at the intersection with I-8.The sites are dirt/sand/ with small concrete patios. There is some nice desert vegetation separating each site from its neighbor. The park was only about a quarter full when we were there and it looked like most of those were long term residents. There are showers located in a single wide trailer in the campground but we didn't use them so I can't comment on their condition. I don't think there were toilets there but clean restrooms are available at the convenience store. In addition to the gas station, there is a gift shop, coffee bar, Quiznos sub shop and an ice cream counter. The store also sells a variety of dates and baked goods featuring dates. The train track does run right along the border of the park and trains go by frequently. Perhaps we have just gotten used to trains in the West and Southwest, but we didn't find them objectionable since they don't blow their horns as they go by. Also, it was cool enough that we didn't need our windows open. If you can't stand any train noise, then you won't like this park. WiFi is available at the store for free but there is no WiFi at the campground itself. While not fancy, this park is clean, safe and good for an overnight stop at a very reasonable price. We camped at Dateland RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Do get a date shake at the store. It was the best one we've ever had!

The other reviews must have been written by the owners as this "park" is right next to the railroad tracks and about 1/2 mile from I-8. There is NOTHING in Dateland except a Gas Station and an RV park and the gas station owners own the RV Park. We stopped here for repairs when our rig broke down on I-8 but I couldn't see any other reason except desperation for stopping here. A one night stop for a break maybe, but it's only 50 miles from Yuma and Gila Bend so a little planning could save some major disappointment. It was very clean though!! We camped at Dateland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy well marked access from I-8. Check in at the gift shop/Texaco station. Access to campground on hard pack gravel road. Hard pack gravel interior roads, dirt sites with concrete patio and Oleanders between sites. Ample space to maneuver No TV cable or off air stations. Poor Wi-Fi but good cell coverage. Utilities including 50 amp service accessible and worked properly. Food mart and Quiznos within walking distance. Some train and interstate noise but tolerable. Great for overnight stop; will return if in the area. We camped at Dateland RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Register at convenience store/gas station then across street to washboard road to campground. Long, pretty level dirt spaces. Quite a few long term work residents. OK for over nite but that's about it. We camped at Dateland RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Part of a Travel Center, with gift shop, fuel, etc. One-lane dirt access road. Many small trees. Railroad tracks are right beside park. Freight trains go past fairly often and can be quite loud. We camped at Dateland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park out in the middle of nowhere! Sites are level, and have hedges between them for semi-privacy. The restrooms and showers are old - we did not use them. The rates are quite low for Arizona in the winter. You can stay here for $150 a month. Of course, you are 60 miles from Yuma! The main drawback to this park is that there are two sets of train tracks adjacent to the property. There is a train going one way or the other about every 15 minutes, day and night. If you like dates, the restaurant serves date shakes, which are quite good. The owner is from Canada, and owns the RV park, gift shop, gas station, and restaurant. We camped at Dateland RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
