I agree with Guinness's very thorough assessment of this campground. My family and I stayed one night (Saturday) in site 26, a back-in site. The site was slightly higher near the road, but since my 24' motorhome is lower in the front, leveling was not required. This being a Saturday night, we worried about a noisy neighbor, but promptly at 10 PM, they quieted down. We were very pleasantly surprised. If we are ever in this area again, we will definitely stay here again. No AT&T connection. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed in this national forest campground before and will again. It gets a lot of weekend usage from Flagstaff. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Dry camping in the Coconino National Forest. There isn't much around, so plan to stock up before you visit. The campground is big rig friendly, easy in/easy out. Interior roads and sites are paved. There are two loops (A&B) in this campground. Loop B is reservable online and Loop A is not, at least at the time of our visit. Loop A is first come, first served, and there are 15 spaces in Loop A. Had we known there were first come, first served spaces, we would not have reserved online since we were planning to arrive on a Monday. Although we reserved online, we decided to give up the reserved spaces and stay in a site in Loop A for the four days we were there. Our site (site 11 in Loop A) was level, but not all sites were level. Some sites have more space between them and the next site, but all sites are nicely spaced. Some sites offer more shade than others. There isn't much privacy between sites, though. There are flush toilets at various locations throughout the campground, shower facilities in one building only, a dump station, and a water fill station. The water fill hose is located on the side of the shower building. The one restroom we visited was clean. We didn't use the showers, but we were told by the camp host that the cost is $3 for 5 minutes. Each campsite has a fire ring, a grill, a picnic table, and a designated tent space. There is plenty of open space for walking pets. Although we did have a couple of unwanted guests (mice) join us while at this campground, we enjoyed our stay and will return when passing through the area. It's a beautiful campground that's kept clean by the camp hosts and the park service workers. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a modern, Forest Service Campground located twenty miles from Flag in a quiet Ponderosa forest. The county road leading to the park is wide and better than many state roads. Campground roads and pads are asphalt. There are a few mosquitos and plenty of yellowjackets. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

All the USFS campgrounds I've encountered are uniformly clean (bathroom, etc.) and well maintained. This was still a notch above, the host was especially friendly and helpful.

Recently I reviewed my stay at the Kiabab USFS campground in Williams, AZ- and there I complained about the generator noise. Not so here. Campers had much quieter generators and ran them only to recharge. (There were only two Class A's in the park.)

The access road is well paved, and if off Lake Mary road - which is a wonderfully scenic drive on a wide well maintained road.

BBQ stand as well as fire ring. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great National Forest campground, used America the Beautiful Senior Pass for 1/2 off camping rate. Exceptional camp hosts that came around several time to check on us. Clean Restrooms and coin operated showers. There is a dump station. Flagstaff is about 18 miles north for shopping. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Motorhome.

Outstanding campground. Great camp hosts; the whole place is immaculate. Huge sites, many pull-through. All shaded. The exterior sites all face hundreds of acres of pine forest and meadow.

The back-in site depths listed on the recreation.com reservation system are misleading, because the concrete picnic tables are right at the end of the site driveway, making it impossible to run the rig over the end of the pad. Large rigs must use a pull-through site to be able to keep the car on the site.

Water fill and dump station are easily accessible. No sites have hookups. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Campground is 16 miles to shopping and downtown Flagstaff. Old town Flagstaff has lots of shops and restaurants.

Don't miss the lunch buffet at Cuisine of India in the same shopping center as Walmart for some of the best Indian food I can remember.

Great campground with many walk-in sites. 3 Restroom buildings with flush toilets and lavatories, clean and well maintained. Dump station with potable water and coin-op showers near the entrance. Part of the campground is on a high plateau/meadow with few trees and quite windy, but most sites have fair to good shade from the Ponderosa pine forest. About half the sites are walk-in. Friendly and helpful hosts. Lakes nearby for fishing and Lake Mary allows water skiing as well. Great hiking and the Arizona Trail passes by, 1/4 mile east. Amphitheater with ranger talks in prime season. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are 2 country stores within 8 miles or so, north and south. Flagstaff is about 18 miles north and has abundant shopping, dining and attractions. Home of Northern AZ University and considered gateway city to the Grand Canyon; an early railroad town rich in history.

Out in the middle of nowhere and quiet. Just the way we like it. Good space between sites for tents, friendly camp host. Just all around a nice relaxing place and the restrooms did not smell. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Tent.

Beautiful sites, with lots of room side to side, but kind of tight across the street. Very well maintained park that offered many bathhouses and dumpsters (with recycling). Nice camp host came around to deliver firewood and ice at night. Wish there'd been hiking trails. As it is, the area seems to require a tow vehicle or other way to get somewhere else to do something, but nice spot to stay put. Our only other complaint is the ridiculously high ReserveAmerica fee of $9. It makes no sense to have $18 campsites with a 50% markup for a reservation. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Motorhome.

Easily the most beautiful campsite in Flagstaff. We are from California, but met people from all over Arizona who said that this is their favorite spot to camp - some saying it is the prettiest campground in Arizona. Beautiful pine trees, lovely lake, quiet hours enforced. We loved our stay here. One caveat: this park is 17 miles outside of Flagstaff. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Camped at the end of season. Absolutely great place. Pine trees, beautiful dry Arizona weather, cool nights and warm days. If your idea of the perfect place to camp is someplace up in the mountains with the smell of pine trees and very quiet - this is it. Clean, well maintained, a few pull through sites available. Most sites you will need to level. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice, clean flush toilets and showers. Paved roads and sites with table, fire ring, and BBQ grill. No charge dump station and water supply for paid campers. Rate is with Golden Age Pass. Half of sites can be reserved; first come sites fill up nearly every day, so come early! We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Motorhome.

Pinegrove is one of our favorite places. Lots of shade from the numerous Pine trees, easy to access level sites, and the sites can be reserved. Various hiking trails and fishing close by. It is only open between May - Oct and a favorite place for people wanting to get away from the heat as the campground is at approx. 7000 elevation. It would rate a 10 if it had full hook ups. It does have an easily accessible dump site, clean flush toilets, and showers. It is managed by US Forest Service Paid Volunteers (camp hosts). Most of the time these hosts are friendly and helpful and check on visitors regularly, however this stay the camp hosts were unfriendly and avoided contact. You had to hunt them down to get any assistance at all. We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a National Forest Campground maintained by volunteer concessionaires. They were very friendly and prompt when campground or visitor attention was required. There are no hookups and generator quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., but there is fresh water for tank filing and a convenient dump station. There are many lakes, trails, and sites to see within a minutes by car. I have found a new favorite campsite! We camped at Coconino National Forest, Pinegrove Campground in a Motorhome.
