We enjoyed our stay here, excellent location a few miles south of Flagstaff. Tall trees, lots of shade, nice bike and walking path. Spacious overall park with an amphitheater for events etc. Many campground sites and the road were hard to discern. We have a 30ft travel trailer and anything bigger would have to be careful negotiating turns and trees, and the sites aren't that big. We had a water/sewer site and it worked fine, had a picnic table and fire ring. No electricity available. No bathrooms, just Sani-huts, but they were clean. We were unable to connect to the WiFi, the signal was nonexistent to very weak. Verizon cell signal was weak, but usable. The campground hosts are from Recreation Resource Management and were friendly and helpful. The rate was $25 for a water/sewer site, and $20 for a dry site. We camped at Fort Tuthill Coconino County Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We really like this campground and how quiet it can be. There are only about 7 spaces with water + sewer hookups, and there is a dump station. We camped at Fort Tuthill Coconino County Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We came up from Phoenix, so it was wonderful to have cool weather in the middle of the summer. It was a nice and quiet campground located next to the fairgrounds. We pulled in at dusk and enjoyed sleeping under huge pine trees. The campground host came by in the morning and took our fees. He was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend this campground for those passing through Flagstaff. We camped at Fort Tuthill Coconino County Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This park makes it into our top 10 weird camping spots. We loved the location. Close to town, in the shaded woods, and near walking/hiking/biking trail. And $16 was a nice price, too, but that's the end of the good. There are no discernible roads and barely any obvious site. It's really tough to figure out which are tent sites and which are RV sites. We like boondocking, but when paying money for a site, I do like to have a "site." Tons of ruts which is non-trivial in monsoon season, but these turn into arroyos rather quickly. No clear ways in/out. No facilities beyond portapotties. Only a few sites with any hookups. Park happened to be pretty empty, but it was still noisy. No real supervision/camp host presence outside of office hours when the nice fellow checks you in. It's an adventure sorta like the ziplining business next door to the campground. We camped at Fort Tuthill Coconino County Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This was a wonderful surprise as I had read no reviews and we just decided to chance it after reading a AAA listing. Beautiful park for dry camping. I think they have some hookups but the nicest sites that are further back with more privacy and greenery were dry. AWESOME running/bike/dog walking path that goes from the campground to downtown Flagstaff. Gorgeous path! We would definitely stay here again. It is very close to Flag, just a few minutes. Overall Rating:

Great rustic campground, with nice pines and lots of places to walk. The camp hosts were very nice both times we were here, Oct 08 and Sept 09. We stayed at the last weekend of the year in order to attend the Flagstaff Science Week both years. There are sites with just water and sites with water and sewer, but no electric on any. You can run generators, but it's great that most people didn't when we were here. The quiet is awesome! There is also nice little museum right by the campground as there used to be an active base here. This campground is located just south of Flag, west of I-17, with the airport to the east. Great location, easy to buzz into town, but quiet and remote for relaxing. It's a little tight for bigger rigs, but the camp hosts were helpful in situating us. We have a 35foot Class A with one slide out. There was a Boy Scout Camp out going on in the campground this year and there was plenty of room and the noise was nicely muffled by the pines. Just a hint of reveille here and there. This campground is part of a larger facility: it's about 400 acres, but part is military and part is public. I don't know where the other person stayed in Cabins - I think she's referring to the Air Force Recreation Side, but that is only available to DOD personnel. We camped at Fort Tuthill Coconino County Park Campground in a Motorhome.
