Make sure you make your reservations in plenty of time as sites during prime vacation times book up quickly. Cable was good, although half of the channels showed as mirror images. Cell reception was spotty, and no wifi. It is all about location with this campground as you are conveniently located a short 10-15 minute walk from the rim (it also connects to a greenway that is paved and will take you throughout the park), or right on a free shuttle bus loop that will take you right up to the Visitor's Center which will allow you to connect to all the other shuttle bus routes throughout the park.

My site was sloped pretty badly and required me to use almost about 16 levelers and lower my tongue jack to the ground to get my camper level. The only downside was that the Delaware North Corporation, who runs the campground and many of the other contracted services on the South Rim, has permanent, temporary, and trailer housing on the south side of the campground. Some of these units are pretty rundown or have a lot of clutter around them. Other than that, the location could not be beat. I would camp here again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Canyon Trailer Village is all about location, location, location. The site was gravel, unloved front to back and side to side. The site offered a small tree on one side an picnic table on the other. WiFi is non-existent in the campground with very limited cellular (ATT or Verizon). However, we were one mile walk from the South Rim Visitor Center. The Grand Canyon NP bus system picked up in the campground and the Market Plaza was with in walking distance. We had elk walk through the campground and the clarity of night stars are awesome. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the opportunity to turn off all outside lights and any inside lights that filter outside. Just sit in as much darkness as you can find to observe the night sky. Awesome. Also, look for the elk just before dusk. We saw 10-12 each evening.

Pull Thru with full hook up and you are in the Grand Canyon!! Nothing really special about the campground. It was clean and easy to pull in. No WIFI in campground but available at different locations in the park. Have to drive to showers that are shared with other campgrounds In the area.

This is true with the laundry. Not a problem but could get pretty busy with all the campers. Showers were $2 for 8 min. Hot water. Dryer $1 for 30 min. Washer $1.75. The shuttle was close to the campground that would take you to the visitor center to catch other shuttles. If going to the Canyon for a few days this is a great option. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

No wifi in the park. Cell service is very spotty (Verizon). Sites are a bit tight, but doable. We had to park our car next to the motorhome as the site was not long enough to park behind. All utilities worked well ... including 50 amp electric. We were able to use our small golf cart to get around the bike trails, so it was really run. The Grand Canyon is not to be missed ... beautiful. Would stay here again as there are many trails and great views of the Canyon. Elk walked around the RV park every evening. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Take all the free park shuttles on the rim. Different views of the canyon everywhere. Really enjoyed all the facilities. Very well run National Park. Just beautiful. The campground seems to be well run and all the utilities worked well. A bit tight, but we are in a 45 ft motorhome pulling a Dodge Ram ... so, we aren't small!

While the most obvious draw for Trailer Village is the location (you can walk to the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and South Rim), it's actually a pretty nice campground too. The campground is huge: row after row of pull-through sites, and there was very high turnover. We'd walk our dog in the early afternoon and see the "Campground Full" sign and wonder at the many dozens of empty sites, but by late evening they were all full again, usually with Cruise America, El Monte, or Road Bear rentals. The sites are average in size... don't expect much privacy, but enough space to not feel cramped. Our site was extremely unlevel, and even with all our wood blocks and leveling jacks we could not get level (a first for us) and had to settle for a slightly crooked stay. We saw many other RVs in a similar predicament, though plenty of other sites looked fairly level. Our Verizon hotspot worked pretty well in LTE, and AT&T worked pretty well at 3G. The park shuttle stops at the campground, there's a decent park-run grocery store adjacent to the campground, and lots of trails and paths for dog walking. We saw elk and mule deer in and around the campground almost daily. We paid $36 but a few days after we arrived we saw they changed the sign to read $44. Too bad, $36 was a pretty great rate in our opinion, for full hookups inside a major National Park. If and when we return to Grand Canyon we'll definitely be staying here again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

This was our first time at this campground, and we expected to be packed in very tight. We were pleasantly surprised to find this was not the case. The park is huge and well managed. The shuttle to all points within the park is right outside the trailer village entrance. There is even a free shuttle to a small town outside the south entrance to the park. Right outside the trailer village is a concessonnaire-run, well-stocked convenience store with prices that only border on outrageous. We will definitely be back. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Second stay at this location. Asphalt pull-through 50 amp full hookup sites. None are perfectly level and it takes some maneuvering to get a big rig level. Cable at site and Wi-Fi available free at the hotel and grocery store. Bus stops at entry for easy park access. New concessionaire, "Delaware North", got this campground. Looks as if they are raising prices, but still a nice place to stay INSIDE the National Park. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Get a reservation a year in advance to stay at Phantom Ranch at the bottom, then hike in down South Kaibab Trail and back up Bright Angel Trail. We did it staying only 1 night, would suggest at least 2 nights as it is VERY strenuous.

Good stay here for two nights, staying in park made it very convenient to get to most of the GC sites and hiking. Shuttle bus stop is right in front of entrance so very convenient. Bathrooms clean, but no showers available unless you go to adjoining campground. We had full hookups, site was a bit unlevel but we adjusted easily with levelers. Highly recommend this rv park but did think it was a little pricey but worth it to be able to stay in the park. No cell phone service or wifi unless you went to some of the lodges or restaurants in the park. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

This is THE place to stay while exploring the Grand Canyon. Elk came each day to graze nearby (warn children to not approach them). Sites are various lengths. We booked one to accommodate our 40' fifth wheel and tow vehicle (just barely long enough). Sites were wide with picnic table. No fires allowed. Poor WIFI. Minimal to no AT&T cell/data coverage. No local TV antenna. Our satellite DISH worked okay. Adequate water pressure. Pleasant neighbors. We would love to return here. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

FHU sites within the National Park. Reasonably well spaced sites, loved sharing the campground with the elk in the area! Reasonable Verizon data / cell connections. Prices have increased since we originally reserved our spot, but it's still worth it to be right in the park and minimize driving back and forth. Reception upon arrival was poor. Indifferent staff, clearly the high demand (due to location) makes it too easy to get customers.

Even though it was winter/spring (we even had snow one afternoon) it was not allowed to make a campfire, which in my opinion is a necessity to get a true camping feeling. I don't think they ever allow campfires here.

No wifi on the campsite. Site was clean and level. Not much privacy, it is more or less a large parking lot with a few extra's. Pull-through was easy, and there was a stop for the shuttlebus, which was convenient. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

This is the only full hookup campground in the park. Sites are adequate but not overly large and are to short for anything over 40ft. Utilities are grouped together on the rear quarter of the site. The roads are paved but narrow making maneuvering very tight. The cable at our site was not working and when reported to the office it was duly noted but never repaired. As mentioned in other post the trees need trimming again noted but not acted upon during our stay. Overall this park is barely adequate and not being really maintained. Also be aware of various wildlife that have the run of the park as they routinely travel through the campground and can be dangerous if approached. Also your unit must be self contained as there are no showers or restrooms at this campground. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

We came during the busy spring break season which was much more busy than when we were here a few years ago. We called a month ago, and all sites were booked up, so we thought we would take our chances and see if there were any cancelations. Arrived at 2:00pm and there was one site available! Not a great campground, but it served our purpose as a home base for exploring the park. Site was paved and mostly level. No open fires allowed, just charcoal grill. The bathrooms are dated, but clean and functional. Price reflects 5 adults. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

If you need hookups, try to put in a reservation at this campground as soon as possible (a year in advance in busy seasons). Also, take the red shuttle bus to Hermits Rest, preferably early in the morning before the crowds build.

Great location for a visit to the Grand Canyon. Hook ups were fine and cable TV included. There it is an asphalt path to the canyon so you can walk to it easily from your campsite.
