$36 is too high for a park rated as "full hookups" but only providing electric due to frozen connections. No potable water anywhere, so you're out of luck if you arrive dry. Pay showers are at Mather and take 8 quarters for 8 minutes, the first of which I spent waiting for hot water since the control valve is plumbed backwards. Shower stalls are about the size of two phone booths with a gapped curtain in between which allows water to splash onto your dry stuff (important in winter). With 86 RV spaces crammed into a few acres, this place is more like "Trailer Ghetto" than Trailer Village. Restrooms are clean and heated, but showers are roughly a mile away in the Mather Campground. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice walk to Grand Canyon.

The campground is in the Grand Canyon NP with full hookups and a shuttle stop, it does not get more convenient. The spaces are close together and not particularly long, our 38 foot fifth wheel took the most of the driveway. There is some room to park very close to your rig. The entry to the various rows is tight with lots of low hanging branches, we saw many folks struggle. There are no lights so arriving after dark might be challenging. Part of the campground was closed for the season but the section that was open remained full. We had several inches of snow during our stay and the staff was out early plowing the roads and sites as people pulled out. Verizon phone was ok and internet was 3G, sort of.
This is a "pack them in park" but it has good utilities, is clean and has location, location, location. Not glamorous but perfectly fine. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Level, paved site, convenient to shuttle buses that can take you anywhere in the park without worrying about finding parking for the towed. Just leave it in the camp ground. Just a shirt walk to shuttle stop. Sites are very close and some appear to be un-level although ours was fine; our neighbor had both front tires and one rear tire off the ground. Hookups are easily accessible and work fine. No sitting patio just a gravel area between sites. Saw elk and deer wandering through the campground. We would stay again despite closeness of sites just for the convenience. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

I think for a full hookup park inside the National Park is a good deal. We stayed 3 nights, never used our vehicle to get around with the free shuttle service. Good cable TV system, yep, would have liked wifi. Our site some unlevel, but overall was pleased and would definitely would return. Very clean, staff helpful. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at Trailer Village several times over the years and love it. It is far better now with asphalt sites as opposed to the old gravel ones. However, you would have thought they would have leveled the sites before laying the asphalt. Most sites are very uneven; we had to have 3 blocks under the left tires. Staff is excellent. Trailer Village is convenient to the Marketplace (can walk) or the shuttle stops right there as well. Certainly hope we can return again (am a serious / professional photographer s0 take MANY pictures). We love the Grand Canyon South Rim where you can see the vast expanse of this wonder - go all the way west to east! We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

See sunrise & sunset to get all the great colors & the shadows. Mather & Yavapai points are super at sunrise; crowded. Or go to Grandview Point; not as bad. About 3 miles back from Grandview is an unmarked parking area on the right-for the road to Shashone Point-road gated; used for events; but you can walk up this road to the Point on a good dirt road-a mile. You will be at a place & see views that 99+% of visitors don't even know about.

Recent reviews are spot on. There is a laundry in Camper Services perhaps a mile away. The grocery store in the market is well stocked & pricey as you would expect. Verizon has a strong signal while ATT barely gets one bar. We were able to send & receive calls on ATT most of the time but service would drop out at random. Cable TV worked well & most sites will have satellite access too. Great access to the bike trails from the village too. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Trailer Village is a full hookup RV park located in Grand Canyon. It is operated by a vendor so none of the usual discounts can be applied.

The check in process was very easy with a map provided to the site location. The site itself had all the utilities located in close proximity and they were easy to access. Our site (I-56) had no shade however several near us did have shade. The site would accommodate our 40' class A motorhome, but we had to park our "toad" in the gravel beside the MH. The site itself was paved with asphalt.

We were directly across from the restrooms and we watched park personnel clean them twice daily. Very well kept.

You can't beat the location of the park (inside a National Park). We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure and stop by the Visitor Center to make sure that you don't miss any of the sites or activities in Grand Cany0n.

Level sites, with cable TV in a federal camp ground; go figure!
Young children need to be watched as ELK do roam through the campground; when we where there. Park your tow vehicle and enjoy the shuttle bus service. This will get you to where ever you want to go in the Grand Canyon park. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is very unique for a National Park, full hookups with cable, (although we never got the cable to work).
Sites are paved and very close, and not very level, there was a grill & picnic table , we were lucky enough to have a tree which gave us shade in the afternoon, many had no shade.
Check-in was fast & easy, staff were friendly and helpful.
There is no store in the campground it's self, but there is a store and diner within walking distance. And a laundry about 1/2 a mile away.
This park has an excellent shuttle system and you can park your car for the entire time there.
It is pretty cool to watch the Elk wander through the campground.
Even with the minor problems, i felt that with the full hookups and location, the price was well worth it. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to use the shuttle buses no need to use the car

Full hookups including cable TV in a national park and just $36? This is rare. It's not the most beautiful rv park, but the spaces aren't too close. Our site wasn't level, in fact it was inclined and leaned 2 inches to the left, but we just got out the blocks. I wish they would dump the cable TV and improve the cell service. I don't watch TV, but I do like to be in contact with the house sitter! Cell service was very spotty everywhere we went. Text messages worked better than voice calls. Forget data unless you have a booster and a lot of patience. Yet, the campground is very close to the rim of the canyon, within walking distance of the visitor center and a very good (though expensive) market. The shuttle bus service is good, but very crowded during the peak season. I would happily stay in this campground again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Get away from the blue line shuttle stops. The rim walk on the outer edges (red and orange shuttle) is much quieter and the views are just as good as in the center of the park. We saw deer and a snake during our walks. It was great. Bring a bike. Lots of biking opportunities.

Loved camping here. Close to shuttle stops, quiet, starry summer nights, and room to stretch out. The gravel pads and roads ensure this is not a resort, but it is a great campground. Would return here if I come back to the Grand Canyon. There are so many places to see and so little time. But thanks, Grand Canyon, for an unforgettable experience and a great place to stay. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Park is operated by a concessionaire to the NPS. They do a good job of keeping it clean and well maintained. Stayed in a pull thru with 50amp service, water & sewer. Sites are reasonably spaced considering you are in the Grand Canyon park. Shuttle buses arrive at park every 30 minutes and take you anywhere you wish. Market, post office and bank is within walking distance. Our only issue is with parents who allow their little ones to ride bicycles back and forth in front of others site. There are bike paths- Let them go ride somewhere. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the rim trail at the Shrine of the Ages. Least crowded and very beautiful

The best reason to stay at Trailer Village is that it is an hour closer to the Grand Canyon than anything in Williams. It is basically a large open area with sites for RVs. No other real amenities. The sites are reasonably far apart, very level and long enough for any unit. There is no Wi-Fi and no store at the campground, though there are plenty of stores in the park. We did have an elk cow that spent a day dozing under a nearby tree. Something you don't get very often. The only time we used our truck was to go to the market to get groceries. The rest of the time we used the free shuttle buses. Like most National Parks, pets are not allowed on the shuttle buses or in any of the buildings. You can take your pet in most of the paved trails. Cell phone coverage is very spotty, but you shouldn't be using your phone anyway. Put it down and look around. We would definitely stay here again and make our reservation earlier. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Get your reservation early, in January.

Paved, immaculate. Can park your rig and walk to free buses to the park. Beautiful setting with yearling Elk eating throughout the park. One of the best parks we have stayed in. Spent 4 days there and left too soon. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Buses go to all part of parks and run every 15 minutes. Great hiking or bike riding as cars are limited to certain areas of park. Park could be dangerous to young children or ignorant adults., especially at the canyon rim. Beautiful park and great NPS staff.

Prices in town such as gas was 25% higher at the only station in town, case of water was 17.99 (normally 3.99) Buy gas before that town.

We stayed at Grand Canyon Village for a week in May. We first came to the grand canyon in 1995 when we rode the train from Williams. We didn't get to see much of the canyon but, this trip we saw all of the south rim thanks to camping at the Travel Village. We made our reservations on line which I am not a fan of but, this time it came off without a hitch. The greeter at the gate was friendly and helpful. We were able to find our spot with no problem. The space was perfect for my 40 ft. rig. The hookups were in working order and in the right location. There was a table but, unfortunately there are no campfires in the full hook up area. Strangely there are campfires in the tent area and on the last day there was a forest fire from those camps.. go figure, they have no water on site to put the campfires out unlike the full hook ups. There is plenty of room between camping spots. The location is close to a market and post office. Eating out for dinner is not easy. The only ones are at the Village a distance away and not that good of food. You can however drive into town where there are plenty of restaurants. There is no wifi but, our Verizon hot spot worked for us. There are spots for RV's where trees do not interfere with your satellite. The location of the camp ground is close to the south rim of the canyon. You can walk, drive or take the free shuttles from the campground. You can walk all of the south rim or take a shuttle to each point of view. You can also walk down to the canyon floor or ride a mule. This is a nice park. The only con is that some people don't know park etiquette and walk through your camp instead of following the roads. I take into consideration that this park gets people from all over the world and a lot of them rent rv's. We will be back again with family and friends. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go see the free movie about the Grand Canyon at the visitors center before you explore the canyon. It will give you a whole different appreciation of where you're at. Hike Mather Point to Hermits Rest to see every awesome view possible. There are free shuttle buses along the way if you get tired. Check the canyon out at dawn, noon and sundown to get the best out of your trip.
