The only FHU campground near the canyon. Sites are asphalt and some are just a bit low on the driver's side. May need one board to level. (We have a 36' Class A) But, no big deal. On most sites you will have to unhook the toad. But there are a few larger sites. Electric and water pressure good. FHU well placed. End K and J rows are the best. Make your reservations well in advance, as it is always full. There is another camp in the area - Mather, but it does not have FHU. Verizon signal marginal, used a Wilson booster. T-Moble mostly not usable without booster. No wifi at camp. Most sites sat. friendly, but call ahead. Great high def. cable many channels. Bath house conveniently located (toilet and sink only) showers and laundry in Mather camp next door. No propane at camp. Shuttle bus for the canyon stops at entrance of campground. Wifi is available in the hotels at the canyon. Elk roam the edges of the camp and make for great pics if you are in J row or end of K. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the Village for food. Hike Bright Angle to first tunnel if not in shape, 2nd tunnel for more of a work out, and 3 mile if you are in shape. Shuttle bus stops at campground. Desert view is great, but you have to drive.

This is all about location, location, location. Unfortunately, the park is not well kept and the full-timers (on the east side of the park) have made it somewhat of an eyesore. With that said, you can walk and ride bikes to anywhere on the south rim. It is so convenient! There is also elk that walked through the park, which our family loved. It would be awesome if Xanterra cleaned up the park and the full-timers. Until then, stay for the location and not the amenities. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Canyon Market Plaza is right down the walkway from the park. It has everything you need plus a great deli. We ate dinner at the deli and were surprised about the great value. We ate like royalty on a small budget.

We had a very spacious pull-through site with small trees on each side. A minor problem with the electric HU was fixed within an hour of our arrival. We were advised that ravens could peck holes in the sewer hose so we hooked up only when dumping. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Great location (and only big rig facility) right in national park. Shuttle stops at campground so you can get around easily. Sites were nice and level. Our only complaint was cable TV service didn't work since we have an older rv. So we attended and enjoyed Grand Canyon nightly programs instead. Wish they would give discount if you can't use cable TV. Our site was not long enough for our 40' motor home and toad. There were some sites that seemed longer however. Might want to specifically request that if needed. Definitely have reservations. It was full every night! We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Take shuttle as get off at all the overlooks to Hermits Rest. Gorgeous. Drive and stop at overlooks on way to Desert View. Lots of level paths for older hikers like us. Ranger Ron gives awesome Ranger talks (fire; geology). We also enjoyed history tour at 10 am. We spent 3 days and used it all.

Well spaced and fairly level camp sites for big rigs requiring full hook ups. All the utilities worked fine. Good water pressure, very good cable TV channel selection. Limited AT&T phone and data service in the area. The restrooms only have toilets and sinks but they were spotless. Shower facilities are at the Mather Campground. The only complaint we have is the location of the trash dump. There was only one and it is near the entrance. Upon exiting the RV park you have to walk a 100 yards back up to the trash containers. The need one container right at the exit. Elk roam the campground and are quite docile. Campers with pets and small children need to keep watch when Elk are around their campsites. We would definitely camp here again. Grand Canyon NP is something to see and the South Rim area is very well done to allow you to see it in comfort with convenience. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Location, Location, Location. You park here because of the location not for the park. The park itself is OK. The bathrooms are clean but very basic. Showers and laundry are located in the adjacent RV park, very inconvenient. I don't understand how a park that experiences below freezing temperatures can have water pipes which freeze. The water at our hose bib froze every day. It had snowed two days before our arrival. We were forced to shovel snow to get into our space There is no WiFi except at the lodge. Sites are not level and have a big left front to right rear slope. But like I said it's the location. We would stay here again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Great rustic campground in the Grand Canyon National Park. Nice level gravel lots, plenty of trees, and close to the south rim Visitor's center. The "Blue" shuttle stops in the park every 10-15 minutes during day light hours. It also stops after sunset, but I don't remember the schedule. Toilets were clean; showers are $2 and a walk from the park. There are a couple of bike/walking trails that will take you to the south rim, which is about 1 ½ miles We would definitely stay again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Getting around the Grand Canyon Park without a car is very easy as there is a shuttle system and the shuttle comes to the park every 10-15 minutes during daylight hours. It also stops after sunset, but I don't remember the schedule.

Can't quite understand negative comments about this park. It's nestled inside the Grand Canyon national park maybe 5 miles inside. It's the only CG with FHU inside any national park that can fit a rig our size that I know of. Oh and cable also. Great cable with Starz 7/24 movies. We had elk walking through the CG every day we were there! We stayed 3/13-3/17. Our site in row H was not gravel but paved. I wouldn't say it's a resort but I thought it was great. Larger rigs need to be more careful as turns can be tight but not a problem. Looked like most sites were unlevel but leveling our coach was achievable. We spent a long time planning this trip from KS and looked at staying at many other CG's. I would love to return some day but I will absolutely plan the trip around getting into Trailer Village again! We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you enjoy eating out the restaurants inside the park are wonderful. There is casual to higher priced dining available and the shuttle picks you up from the CG and takes you to whatever restaurant you choose. We went into town by car to dine a couple times and regretted it. The food at this national park (as well as all of them) is reasonable and delicious.

The sites are small and fairly close together, but it's a great location for visiting Grand Canyon. We have a 41 foot 5th wheel, and we just fit in the site with the truck parked sideways. It's full hookup and all about location. Once you're set up you don't even have to drive anywhere. There is a bus stop right at the campground so you can take the Grand Canyon bus transportation to any place within the park. There are many hotels and restaurants that are fun to visit in addition to the main attraction. This is our second time staying here and there is no other place I'd rather stay while visiting this park. Verizon coverage is okay. It looks like we have 4G on the phone but it was extremely slow. When we stayed here 2 years ago Verizon worked much better so I'm not sure why it was so slow this time. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

If you want to stay in the park with a big rig, this is the only choice. Woodsy, rustic atmosphere. Fairly narrow roads within the CG but doable. Our 37' MH with tow barely fit in the assigned site. Staying here allows you to use the free shuttle service all over the park which is awesome. We didn't need to unhook which was great. Staying here gives you more time to explore the park during daylight hours. I recommend it but plan in advance and get reservations. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Catch the sunrise from Mather Point, shuttle will drop you at Vistor center then a 5 minute walk. Sunset viewing at Hopi or Mohave points are beautiful. The El Tovar is a must see as is the 20 min award winning film at the visitors center. There are great bike trails throughout the park. Walk the rim! Enjoy the magic that is the Grand Canyon.

Nice park with perfect location since right in Grand Canyon. Can walk, take shuttle, or drive (parking issues with that choice). Our site was very level, clean. Absolutely no frills. Very tight spaces but had no trouble getting our 40' rig in or out. Extremely nice staff at park. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Great location. We were happy to have a full hookup in a National Park. Being off season, there were several sites available (we could imagine during full season the park would seem quite full). The bathrooms were basic, but clean and heated. I noticed several sites were not quite level (despite being concrete), but no biggie. All sights are pull through with lots of room. Each site has a picnic table and a bbq stand. No wood fires permitted. Clean well kept park that has a free GC bus comnection. Good location near south rim. Was here over Presidents week and made reservations 24 hours prior. Fills up even in winter. Great RV park in GCNP. Only park with hook ups at the South Rim. No ATT cell phone service, no WiFi. Lots of people had trouble with the DirecTV. We had no problems with the TV. This park can be very crowded at peak times. Be prepared for noise. Ask for an end spot near the woods. The end spots also allow for extra parking. We were in a 40 foot MH, with a tow dolly. My son also joined us. With 2 cars, the end provided the extra parking we needed. We were traveling with dogs and it worked out great to be on the end with our own large grassy area. It was a beautiful park. Shuttle bus stops near the office. You can walk to the grocery store, if you are energetic! No complaints! We got snowed in for three days and they were nice about letting us stay two extra days. Large spots. The pull thru spots are great. Water good. Each spot has a grill and a picnic table. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Shopping at the nearby grocery store- they have everything you migh need, plus lots of souvenirs. They are pricey, but great if you forget anything. Highly suggest you take the shuttle busses where ever you want in the park. Driving can be a pain at peak times.
