We spent two nights at Trailer Village and it exceeded my expectations. We had a nice shady campsite on the end, so that gave us a little extra room. The roads and sites looked like they were re-paved within the last year or two. We managed to see a bull elk about 50 yards from our site. The shuttle was convenient to use in exploring the park. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Location, location, location. What more can I say? Leveling seemed to be somewhat difficult at most sites. The hook-ups worked fine and we even had cable TV ( imagine at a national park) Unfortunately - no, fortunately - we were too busy to use it. The campground is central to the park and close to everything: the Visitor Center, the lodges, the historical buildings, the market, the rim trail and both Bright Angel and South Kaibab trails. It is also one of the stops on the shuttle route. We've been here before and will definitely be here again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We hiked half-way down both the Bright Angel and the South Kaibab Trails. Breakfast at the Bright Angel Lodge was very good but breakfast at the Yavapia was not (the food had been warming much too long.) We took the shuttle to Hermit's Rest and got off at all of the stops to take in the view. Sunrise at Yavapai Point was wonderful. As soon as the sun comes up, turn west and watch it come up over the canyon. Desert View Tower and Point are a must see.

This campground is right in the heart of all the south rim amenities. The sites are good but a little close together. All the hookups worked well, even the cable TV. The one big negative was the Verizon service. It was terrible. Most days it was unusable. Had to go into the Village to get any kind of data throughput. For full timers such as us this is a big deal. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

End of the row site on "G" street, the site was level and a small grove of trees separating the pull thru site from the main street. Next site over was close but not overly so. Water/Electric/Sewer all worked well, though they have an unusual recommendation to not leave your sewer hose out, only connect it up when you have to dump -- due to the crows (very large) that like to peck at and punch holes in the sewer hoses. Otherwise, the site was fine. Convenient to walking to the entry where one can get the shuttle to get around in the 3 parts of the South Rim area of Grand Canyon National Park. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Fabulous. We were very impressed by this park. The spots were paved (OK we need 2 leveling block) and long enough for our tow vehicle and trailer. The RV park was convenient to grocery shopping, post office, camping service (showers, laundry, dump station, fresh water, and thirsty elk.) There was a bus stop nearby and a bike trail out the back of the park. The sewer, power, cable, and water were located mid trailer. The best of all, you are in the freaking Grand Canyon. A 10-minute bus/bike ride and you are on the south Rim looking at one of the 7 wonders of the world. Now the downside. If you are into Wi-Fi, they ain't got none. You have go to the park HQ. Park employees warn you not to leave your sewer hose connect or furry woodland creatures will chew holes in it. This is the best place to stay if you want to see the Grand Canyon and not the highway into and out of the park each day. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

We originally had reservations at a NPS campground for our Grand Canyon visit. However, due to the hot weather, we decided we needed electricity to run the AC for our dog in our RV. Luckily, we were able to get 4 nights at Trailer Village only about 10 days before our arrival. The sites are fairly close together, but we were on the end of a row which gave us more privacy and a grassy area next to the RV. Bathrooms were close by and had hot water and electric outlets. There are no showers in Trailer Village, but there are pay showers in the other, nearby campground not too far away. We used our own shower. There is no WiFi in the campground, but we found great WiFi in the Park Headquarters building near the Shrine of the Ages shuttle stop. If the headquarters is closed, you can get the signal outside the door. The shuttles are a great way to get around. They're free, and drivers are very helpful. Trailer Village has cable TV, but we didn't use it. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Use the shuttles rather than driving. If walking to the shuttle is a problem, drive the short distance to the Shrine of the Ages/Park Headquarters lot (always room there) and take the shuttle in either direction from there. Very convenient! Generally, you need to make reservations ahead. Be sure to get a big enough site, as our was a small one - just big enough for our 23' trailer with truck parked across the end.

Spacing was very tight. Our space was pretty bad for a 5th wheel hitch--significant slope to the left and uphill in the front. It required three blocks and our tri-leveler under the left trailer wheels and under the left rear truck tires to re-hitch. Also, the FHU really wasn't. We had to dump all at once due to ravens--apparently pecking at sewer hoses. The park was fairly peaceful and quiet, and close to the trails. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Surprising for a national park but most sites have no trees, no grass, no shrubs, no shade. Our site was not level and required blocking under tires. It was also across from the bathrooms which meant there was constant cut through foot traffic. Given that half the campers were rentals driven by newbies and there are no walkways between rows we decided to just look the other way while our site was occupied by others. Minor inconveniences are worth it to stay at the only place inside the park with full hookups. All of the campground utilities worked well. Verizon signal was weak and worked for data mornings and evenings but was useless during the day when 200,000 people were trying to transmit selfies from the canyon rim. Seniors beware your America The Beautiful pass will not entitle you to a discount here. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Our stay here was pretty good. Nothing fancy here, but very close to South Rim area of Grand Canyon. Also there's a stop on the shuttle bus route, which is very convenient. Dirt/gravel sites with enough living space outside to be comfortable. No fire pits/no fires, but we were able to use our propane fire pit. We weren't close to bathrooms but had people cutting through our site often. Frustrating but mostly was happening when we weren't sitting outside. Our dog continually had tiny round stickers in his leg and feet fur, even though he never walked into any thick grass, etc. We had to check him after each walk and cut some from the fur. No wifi, cell signal very weak but with a booster we managed to be somewhat connected, off and on. We were comfortable here and liked that Market Village was a short walk away. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Sites very close to the South rim and free buses provided to go every where in the park. One bus goes into town and stops at a few restaurants. The site was asphalt and very bare. Picnic table was provided but chained down so could not move it far (to follow the shade). Staff were helpful and I will be staying here again. The longest pull through sites were no longer than 50' so we parked our truck about 30 yards away in the CG. Good water pressure. We were asked not to leave our sewer hose connected during our stay as critters like chewing on the hose. Weak Verizon signal, 1-2 bars max. A number of sites had shade so if you want satellite, request an open site. There is no grass for dogs so they will need to go in graveled and dirt covered woods. Our site was asphalt and was level. Easy in and out. There's free bus shuttles throughout the park with a stop by the CG entrance, very convenient. There is a good size grocery store with beer & wine and souvenirs, post office, bank, snack bar within walking distance. As mentioned, many rental RV's with novice RVers, but I enjoyed talking with a number of them. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is really nice and really clean. Our only major issue was how unlevel the site itself was. We had to go 4 leveling blocks high on the left side just to get somewhat level. It's about a 1/2 a mile walk to the rim and visitors center. Right around the corner, and definitely walking distance, is a full grocery store, post office, bank, restaurant and bar. If you hike up the trail towards the Kaibab trail you can see some amazing views but be warned, there are no fences or guard rails in this part of the canyon. Level paved sites, utilities ok, satellite reception ok, quiet from 10 - 6 but many children and partying young adults in between. Good value for the price. Five minutes from the village, restaurants, and many canyon views. The best, free shuttle system on Earth stops at the RV park every 15 minutes. Elk frequently walk around between campers. Staff went through each day, checking vacated sites. Sites are not level. Sloped to left front. For us, 5 inches on LF tire. Garbage dumpster can be a hike, stored it and used towed to drop off trash. The number of rental units is roughly 25%. Sort of like sitting at a boat ramp, watching the renters figure out how to park (leveling blocks?) and hook up. Offering tips can lead to meeting nice people. We heard at least 5 different languages in the sites. Verizon connection was acceptable for email. ATT was very spotty. ATT connection cannot be relied on in campground. No wifi. For ATT, try over by the hotels. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

There is an unmarked path to the marketplace, easily walkable. Other than the first few rows (a, b, c) it is a fair hike to the bus stop. End spots are the best, although they do not take requests.

We got a little confused on check-in. There was a little shack at the entrance, but no sign that said "check-in", so we drove right by and went the wrong direction in the park. But maybe that's just us being newbies. The park is decent looking. Plenty of shade trees, pretty good spacing between sites, and they're at an angle from each other, so a little more privacy that way (but not much privacy at all). No fires allowed, so just a BBQ grill and picnic table in the sites. Sites are asphalt, and most appeared to be leaning to the left, but not too bad. Everything worked fine. Bathroom was okay. There were no trash cans in sight, which was pretty inconvenient. There are mule deer or elk that wander through the campground, which was really cool. Overall, the best thing about this place was the location. It's close to the rim, and you can get on the main bike trail that goes all through the village and to the rim right from the campground. There's also a bus that stops at the campground and runs until pretty late. It's definitely part of the action and made the stay feel very effortless. We never had to drive our car once, which is a huge plus when visiting a place like this. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.
