Only full hook up site in park. Shuttle bus stops here so easy to get around without a car. Walking distance to Village for meals, shopping, etc. Our site was 2 degrees off level but other than that great. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

What a surprise! We expected a rustic campground with only electricity - and were very impressed to find a relatively new, well planned campground with level lots and full (convenient) hook-ups. Regular, free, bus service to all the major locations including a reasonably well-stocked supermarket! Campground is still under development, but the newer area is very pleasant despite the (climate induced) limited number of shade tree. Waking up to find elk grazing a few feet from the trailer is a great way to start the day! We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The $71.00 included 2 breakfast's at the Yavapai lodge which was a short walk from the Trailer Villiage. The rate with out the breakfast was $51.00. ($10.00 each for 2 people). OK enough about that....if you can possibly get a spot here DO IT! About a half mile walk to Visitor Center, Mather Point and the Rim Trail. Walk out the back of the park, past the water holding tanks and take a right at the trail to head to the visitors Center. Just perfect. There is a Tavern at the Yavapai lodge that serves good bar food and a selection of local beers. The Blue Line bus comes right to the Trailer Village but you can walk most places. Would be a pretty big pain if had park outside of the park and bus in. Reserve early! It is worth it. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Sites are short, most RVs had to park TV in the gravel. Cable worked but was a bit fuzzy. Bus and trail system is great. We saw lots of Elk, even walking through the campground. We had a end site near the back and had to use several levelers. Quiet, dark great park. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice site. We visited in the "off" season and the park was still crowded. Take a day or two to do the south rim roads. The only fuel in the park at the east park exit. It is about 80 miles from Williams AZ to the park so gas up. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Full hookups, with the water still on in the winter. We used our heated hose, otherwise you'll need to unhook your water at night. Nice paved site, we needed very little leveling. Trees are in and around most sites, so watch your clearance. Shuttle stops at the campground entrance, which goes everywhere. The grocery is close by, so we walked. Lots of area to walk the dog... he likes this place a lot. Dogs are allowed on trails above the rim, just not on the shuttles or in buildings. The road to Hermits Rest is open because it's winter... we drove it in the morning, and had almost every stop to ourselves. Perfect clear blue sky, no wind... just wonderful.

We stayed 12 days and had a wonderful spot. We saw a herd of elk, deer and even saw a mountain sheep while on a hike. We had a great spot and were able to park beside our friends who came in several days after we had arrived. The site was a great shaded area with a table. We stayed here 2 nights on our way east. It is about an hour off of I-40 from Williams, AZ. Our FHU 30-amp site was great. Office warned us not to leave sewer hoses out as the raves like to peck holes in them. Shuttle runs from office to all points in the national park. First morning, we drove to Williams to take a tour(a pretty boring 1 hour drive). We drove to the Yavapai Lodge to have breakfast the second morning, it was pretty good buffet. Our site was a 29 ft. and up FHU, no issues. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

This campground is right in the heart of all the south rim amenities. The sites are good but a little close together. All the hookups worked well, even the cable TV. The one big negative was the Verizon service. It was terrible. Most days it was unusable. Had to go into the Village to get any kind of data throughput. For full timers such as us this is a big deal. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Location, location, location. What more can I say? Leveling seemed to be somewhat difficult at most sites. The hook-ups worked fine and we even had cable TV ( imagine at a national park) Unfortunately - no, fortunately - we were too busy to use it. The campground is central to the park and close to everything: the Visitor Center, the lodges, the historical buildings, the market, the rim trail and both Bright Angel and South Kaibab trails. It is also one of the stops on the shuttle route. We've been here before and will definitely be here again. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We hiked half-way down both the Bright Angel and the South Kaibab Trails. Breakfast at the Bright Angel Lodge was very good but breakfast at the Yavapia was not (the food had been warming much too long.) We took the shuttle to Hermit's Rest and got off at all of the stops to take in the view. Sunrise at Yavapai Point was wonderful. As soon as the sun comes up, turn west and watch it come up over the canyon. Desert View Tower and Point are a must see.

We spent two nights at Trailer Village and it exceeded my expectations. We had a nice shady campsite on the end, so that gave us a little extra room. The roads and sites looked like they were re-paved within the last year or two. We managed to see a bull elk about 50 yards from our site. The shuttle was convenient to use in exploring the park. Fabulous. We were very impressed by this park. The spots were paved (OK we need 2 leveling block) and long enough for our tow vehicle and trailer. The RV park was convenient to grocery shopping, post office, camping service (showers, laundry, dump station, fresh water, and thirsty elk.) There was a bus stop nearby and a bike trail out the back of the park. The sewer, power, cable, and water were located mid trailer. The best of all, you are in the freaking Grand Canyon. A 10-minute bus/bike ride and you are on the south Rim looking at one of the 7 wonders of the world. Now the downside. If you are into Wi-Fi, they ain't got none. You have go to the park HQ. Park employees warn you not to leave your sewer hose connect or furry woodland creatures will chew holes in it. This is the best place to stay if you want to see the Grand Canyon and not the highway into and out of the park each day. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

End of the row site on "G" street, the site was level and a small grove of trees separating the pull thru site from the main street. Next site over was close but not overly so. Water/Electric/Sewer all worked well, though they have an unusual recommendation to not leave your sewer hose out, only connect it up when you have to dump -- due to the crows (very large) that like to peck at and punch holes in the sewer hoses. Otherwise, the site was fine. Convenient to walking to the entry where one can get the shuttle to get around in the 3 parts of the South Rim area of Grand Canyon National Park. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.
