This is a US Forest Service CG and has limited amenities. The main attraction for me was the elevation at 5200 feet, making it much cooler than any RV park in Green Valley. I was not there during the warmest part of the day averaging in the high 80's. By sundown, the temperature dropped rapidly and sleeping was very comfortable. I arrived on Memorial day and the CG was very sparsely occupied. One thing is odd about the CG, namely there is an additional $5.00 daily fee to use the restrooms, even in the CG. Fortunately, they waive the fee for Senior Pass holders. $15 per night seems high for a Forest Service CG. It is a clean, well managed facility, and I would stay there again. We camped at Bog Springs Campground - USFS in a Travel Trailer.

The road into the park and the campground road are paved, as is all the parking for the sites. We have a 23 foot trailer and had no trouble getting into site 6, in spite of the 22 foot recommends max. It seems like a 25 foot could easily get in here as well and use our site or site 7. There are also a coupe others that look big enough, but a vehicle would have to be parked near the restrooms. All sites have a picnic table, fire pit, bear box and tent pad. There are water spigots at each site that actually have threads, so we could have come here with empty tanks. The sites are mostly nicely spaced. The pit toilet was clean. We had 2 bars of ATT LTE or 1 bar of 4G. There is great hiking both from the campground and from the trailhead. However, these are steep and rocky trails (apparently the trail builders had not heard of switchbacks as there are lots he climbs straight up the hill), so if you are looking for an afternoon stroll, these may not be for you. We camped at Bog Springs Campground - USFS in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great little spot in Madera Canyon near Green Valley, AZ. The toilets are vault. There are picnic tables and bear proof storage lockers. I've stayed here over the last 3 years and never saw a bear. The hiking is good. The best is the birding in the canyon. Many migrate here in winter and spring. The humming birds are prolific. Using a Golden Age Pass the cost is $5. Two week limit. We camped at Bog Springs Campground - USFS in a Motorhome.
