This is a very good park for an overnight or short term stay. Long pull thrus, all gravel (welcome to Arizona). We have stayed here before and will stay here again. Friendly, efficient staff in the office. We camped at OK RV Park in a Motorhome.

Just off the the main drag and a half mile to I-40. Large check in area. Staff was very friendly and helped us into our site. Exterior roads are paved, interior roads and sites a mix of dirt and gravel. Seemed like most of the big rigs were placed in Yellow 1-7. Very long but very narrow. Sites are level. No grass anywhere. A few large shade trees. Utilities worked fine. Good water pressure. Very good WiFi. Restrooms are old and uninviting. 25 miles from the I-40 entrance to Petrified Forest. Muffins and coffee in the a.m. Great display of petrified wood. We camped at OK RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for two nights at OK RV Park in our 40' fifth wheel. We had made reservations for a pull-through site several days in advance and were assigned to site Red-0. When I checked in, I was told that they rarely use that site and we soon discovered why. Although the gravel site was quite long, the electric hookup was near the front so we needed to pull all the way up. This put us right next door to our neighbor who was facing the other direction. That meant that our doors were only a few feet apart and we shared a common concrete pad and picnic table. I was told that, when we left, we should move the rope that served as the fence for the property and drive down a dirt road. I discovered that the dirt road had major ruts in it so we opted to back out of our site, rather than pull through. The campground had cable TV with 50 channels. However, we were expected to use the coax cable provided by the campground. I tried repeatedly to adhere to the rules which said "Please do not detach our cable" and "Do not remove or replace cables" but the cable didn't work despite numerous attempts to AutoProgram. The cable ran under the ground to a splitter bar at the neighbor's site. I went to the office to report the problem and the girl said she would be down to help me as soon as she'd checked in an RV that had just arrived. Two hours later, when she had not arrived and the office was closed, I took matters into my own hands and hooked up my own coax cable to the splitter bar and the cable TV worked great. The campground brochure actually says "If you need help, ask within 2 hours of arrival" so maybe the lack of support was the result of my untimely complaint but I've never seen such a strange policy. As noted in other reviews, the trains run constantly throughout the night with horns blowing so sleeping with the windows open was impossible. I suspect that other sites at this campground might not have all these problems but we will not return. We camped at OK RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We thought our site was fine, they stagger the sites so you get a little more room. Better than cramming is as many as possible which we have seen at other RV parks. The neighbors were very friendly and we enjoyed our 1 night. The park was a little rough and run down, but the cable and WIFI were great. Trains were going through at night, not great for a light sleeper. We camped at OK RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Long level gravel site, with concrete patio and picnic table. All hookups worked well, cable and wi-fi very good. sites are close with rv's parking the opposite way from each other, although we had no one on either side. Some Interstate noise and train's blowing early am. Good for a night's stay. We camped at OK RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

First Impression: A big CG. All dirt and gravel with a few trees and pedestals. Safety: No concerns. Access: Exit 286 off I-40, turn north to Buzzard Blvd on left, behind Tractor Supply, huge sign. Buzzard Blvd road in poor condition, good signage, Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Nice staff, token store with snacks, a few RV equipment items. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations not available. Good Sam discount. Facilities: No pool, spa, fitness room or rec center. Large, clean laundry room. Restrooms/showers dated from the 60's, stained fixtures, sufficiently clean, no mold, but peeling paint (score "B"). No propane sales. No playground. No off-leash dog run. Campground: Not in a flood plain. No storm shelter. Lightly wooded. Interior roads are wide dirt/gravel in good condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Big rig and long coach friendly. Prevosts won't have problems. No tent area, yurts, or cabins. Sites are all nearby, level, dirt/gravel, pull-through and back-in, no landscaping. Pedestals at middle of site with electric 30 or 50 (not both); no meters. Low water pressure with okay taste. Multiple sewer pipes are 4" threaded, about 2" above ground level. No patios; good picnic tables. Fires not permitted; no fire rings. Good satellite views. Free cable TV. Free Wi-Fi with excellent coverage and bandwidth. Verizon phone and 4G at 4 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: Railroad noise but no aircraft, traffic, or interstate noise. Bug Report (early October): no insects noted. Runners: CG roads marginal for running. Yoga: no good place to put your mat. Conclusion: Score 5-Acceptable. We camped at OK RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Holbrook, AZ is a small town. Navajo is the main north/south drive. McDonalds, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, others. No national restaurant chains. Safeway grocery on south side of interstate on W. Hopi Drive. Some local restaurants. No Wal-Mart. Diesel at Maverik $2.659. Wells Fargo bank. No RV stores. Didn't see a hardware store. O'Reillys. Petrified Forest National Park is 25 miles east.

This park is one of the few places to stay to visit the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert National Park. It's a very open area with few trees big enough to really give shade. I had an e-mail confirmation of my reservation, but they did not have it in their computer or books. There was plenty of room, though. The sites are pull-through and very long, so the RVs are staggered in the ends of the sites to give a feeling of space. The bathrooms are very outdated but were clean and accessed by a code. They were air conditioned, which was appreciated. I did not like that a road runs through the middle of the campground, and some people drove very fast to get to their homes on the other end. There were coffee and muffins in the office in the AM. This is a good place to stay to visit the parks nearby but not very desirable otherwise. We camped at OK RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is ugly but fairly level with very long pull-through sites. Though they are side-by-side sites, they are staggered so your neighbor's door isn't right opposite yours. Excellent hookups, fast wifi. We will stay here again, I'm sure. We camped at OK RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Basic gravel park. No frills. Was ok for an overnight stop. Clerk in office freaked out because we pulled up too far in our spot "because we stagger the RVs in the sites". She literally came running into our site to tell us that. Should have just escorted us or told us that to begin with. We camped at OK RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older park and one end of the park has permanent housing. The roads for these houses runs right through the RV park, school busses, residents, etc. There is no speed limits signs and the roads can get quite busy. The rest rooms were clean but are very old and the floors in the showers are quite slanted. We camped at OK RV Park in a Motorhome.

Passing through beginning a long trip to the east coast and needed overnight stay. This is not a resort. It is a flat, graveled open park with pretty level, very, very long sites and full hookups. Staff was very nice, helpful & professional. We would stay here again, if again passing through. We camped at OK RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stopped for an overnite on our way East. E-Z on & off I-40. Sites are long gravel pull through so we didn't have to disconnect. Good water pressure. Cable for TV was coiled up at the box. Large laundry facility with many new washers. Dog walk at rear and side of property, scrub grass & dirt. Most sites had concrete patios. A good place to stop overnite. Plenty of spaces available. We camped at OK RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an OK RV park, as the name states! The access roads are very wide; great for big rigs. The sites are level gravel pull-thru's with full hook ups (50 amp) and cable. The sites are very long and somewhat wide. It's very quiet. Wifi was poor. The staff was very friendly. The park is large but only some of the spots have hook-ups and they are consolidated in one area of the RV park. There was a heavy rain while we were there and there was quite a bit of mud flow in the site we were in. Others did not have as much. No pool or hot tub. Free coffee and muffins in the morning. This is an OK place for a day or two. It is near the freeway yet far enough away to be quiet. We would stay here again. We camped at OK RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This is close to the Petrified Forest National Park and Painted Desert. Beautiful! It is also near Winslow, Arizona where you can "stand on the street corner and see the red flatbed truck" (made famous by the "Take it Easy" song by the Eagles) and tour/eat at beautiful restored La Posada Hotel. And don't miss the Wigwam Hotel in Holbrook. These are tee-pee-shaped hotel rooms with a great old car sitting outside each room...the inspiration for the similar scene in the movie Cars?

Upon arrival through checkout, front desk clerk woman was extremely nice, pleasant and helpful. We only stayed one night, but not one issue or problem. It's an older RV park, but since we are self-contained, no need to use amenities (but always checkout all facilities). Did use laundry facilities (brand new large capacity washers being installed). If we were to travel this way again, we would revisit as well as recommend. We camped at OK RV Park in a Motorhome.
