Overall Rating:

Sites are gravel and not very level, bring boards if you want to get your rig level. Tight access on our site. Only 30 Amp service but not a problem as A/C not necessary here, even in June and it gets cool at night so great for sleeping. Hookups all worked and we had a strong Verizon signal too! Great campsite in the woods, very quiet, lots of deer, very helpful staff. We'd come back as it's an easy drive or ride to the North Rim. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice place to stay while waiting for a space at the North Rim of Grand Canyon - probably the closest place with full hook ups to the North rim. It's about a 45 minute drive into the look outs for the North rim. The lake is really a small pond. The bathrooms are porta potties and the showers are coin operated. If you want full hookups for the North Rim, this is a good spot. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Travel Trailer.

Keep in mind the Canyon lookouts is about a 45 minute drive. It's a pretty drive but you don't get Canyon views until the end. We did stay one night within the Park without hookups and it was nice to be there but ...

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed being in the Ponderosa Pine forest and the very scenic drive to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was a very pleasant experience. The site was fairly level although gravel. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Fifth Wheel.

Don't miss the Jacob Lake Inn cookies and ice cream. Also their selection of souvenirs was extensive and reasonably priced. However, gas at their service station was very pricey.

The sites are all very unlevel, dirt and gravel. Bring boards. 30 amp service is OK. You don't need AC here. Lots are spacious and forested.

We will not stay here again. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Kaibab Camper Village - Jacobs Lake AZ - 2 stars Way out of level, dirt site, 30 amp max electric ran at 110 volts most of the time, other utilities OK, no satellite reception, no Internet or cell service. As other reviewers have noted, the office staff starts their introduction to the campground with "this is the only game in town" and then proceeds to describe a bunch of rules that they then do no enforce. Tight and steep sites with little space between sites. Overpriced but only campground with any utilities in the region. About a 1 hour drive to the North Rim visitors center. Would not stay here again. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Travel Trailer.

Good experience and the staff was friendly and helpful. Site backed up to a logging road but did not notice any noise. Forest smells were a welcome change from city suburbs living. The daily thunderstorms were a pleasant change from the hot dry conditions at home. I would stay here again. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Fifth Wheel.

The camp area itself was great - nice spots. Great value for the money. The women that worked in the store/check in area were unfriendly. This is the only reason I can't give this place a 10 rating. Went in several times to store besides the check in and they were very rude and unfriendly. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Travel Trailer.

If you want a full-service campground close to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, this is a good choice. The spaces are close together, but tolerable. We liked that the spaces seemed to be placed to save trees, rather than in nice neat rows. The staff were mixed, some very nice and some not so much. All services were good and we did get Verizon voice and data. The campground is heavily treed, nice shade, but we could not find a hole to get DirecTV, even with our portable dish. The campground is dark and quiet at night. It is further back from the main road, so less road noise, but it is on a gravel road, so some dust. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Motorhome.

We seem to have liked Kaibab Camper Village more than others. It is certainly woodsy, and much more of a "campground" than an "RV Park". In our site, 93, we had excellent sat. TV reception. Our VZ phone and hot spot worked perfectly. Our site would have been a little tight except that there were no rigs on either side. Got lucky. We had no power issues, but we have a Surge Guard. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Travel Trailer.

Private RV park that is accessed by a 1/2 mile dirt road. We were thrilled to get a spot here because the park was full and we did not have a reservation. Suggest you consider having a reservation in advance if you are going to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. No wi-fi and no cable but full hookup. You were required to have a support system for your sewer hose which we did not so they "loaned" us one from their office for $60 that was refunded the next day when we returned it. Park is only open seasonally - May 15 to October 15. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Motorhome.

Location, location. location. This is a woodsy RV park with the only full hookup sites near the North Rim. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The sites were uneven, dirt or gravel and dusty due to an adjoining gravel forest road. I would have rated this campground a 7, but the electric power at our site was very poor. Even using propane for our refrig and hot water the power usually was 105-110 volts. Mid day it was higher, but immediately fell if any appliance was turned on. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Fifth Wheel.

You are in a forest and they are the only rv park with full hook ups. Though not all sites have full hook ups, nor will many of you be able to use the satellite dish, do to the trees. You are on a dusty, dirt surface so I think it could probably get slippery in the rain. We had a big pine on our full-wall slide side, but by moving around we leveled, and all slides missed the 4 trees around us. We were part of a rally so no idea of cost. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Made the reservation five months in advance and arrived to find I got the worst site in the park; barely long enough for my 19' travel trailer and right by the entrance. Also not very level. As we were getting unhitched, the two large dogs in the trailer next to us barked and whined and continued intermittently until the owners returned late afternoon. I went to the office to ask if I could have a different site; the answer was a very rude NO, unless I would take water/electric.

The second day, we returned from the North Rim to whining, howling, barking, so obviously, nothing was done to inform the owners of the dogs not to leave them alone again. (The information sheet each camper gets at check-in specifically states animals must be quiet and not left unattended.)

I travel with four dogs, but they go everywhere with us, as we know they can be a nuisance. It is up the campground to enforce the rules; they failed.

Perhaps you will be luckier here than I was. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Travel Trailer.

Roads and sites are gravel. Sites are not level, but there's lots of trees. Cell phones work, but no cable or TV via antenna. Road to the campground is 3/4 mile gravel, with lots of potholes. The North Rim is 45 miles from the CG. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Fifth Wheel.
