7 Parks near Joseph City, Arizona
May 2016 - $20.00
Full hookups and internet worked fine. There are no restrooms or showers. I wouldn't have used them if they were available. Check-in at the hotel. Staff was pleasant and check-in was easy. Most campers were semi-permanent folks who worked in the area. Positives: Price is right for a quick overnight in a drive-thru site and internet worked well (possibly because our site was near the hotel), sites were mostly level. Negatives: dog feces isn't picked up, train tracks are behind Park, it's a parking lot. - Dave RVer
Mar 2014 - $18.00
Nothing fancy about this park, but fairly functional for an overnight stay. The owner is a friendly fellow who enjoys coming around for conversation. A small park with many long term campers, the sites are large enough for big rigs although you'll be parking on the patio. The water hookup was recessed into the ground and the spigot was covered by dirty water, so we didn't hook up, but the 50 amp power was good. Free cable TV with limited channels. No Wi-Fi, but Verizon cell voice and data were good. There's nothing to see or do in Joseph City, but for a quick overnight it's as good as any. - Meanderman
Nov 2013 - $18.00
Great one-nighter -- cheap and cheerful. We needed a place between the south rim of the Grand Canyon and Santa Fe after a day at the Canyon. It is a good stop right off the highway and easy in and out. The people were nice and they had everything for 18 dollars. We got local channels to watch football, stayed hooked up with a pull-through site and then left the next morning out the back and further down the highway. Verizon and TV worked well. Small sites but our three slides went out fine. Level gravel type sites, not a lot of traffic or others there but a few. Can't beat the price if you are in need of a layover. It was actually on old route 66. Nothing else in the town. - FrancisandRenee
Sep 2016 - $30.00
This place is nothing more than a dirt parking lot. It looked more like an old drive in theater lot than a place to stay the night in an RV. There were very few trees, and these were quite small. The interior road was not level at all. The lady in the office was incredibly rude. It's a very dog unfriendly place. There is no place to walk a dog or get them in any shade. After I checked in, the lady in the office proceeded to tell me the list of rules for dogs. We have low, collapsable fencing for our little dachshunds so we can sit outside with them. I was told that fencing of any type was not allowed. We have stayed in many, many RV parks and have never encountered this rule before. I have done many RV park reviews and have looked for good things that I can point out. There are none for this RV park. My recommendation is to go on down the road to Winslow. There is a very nice park there. - Dr Karen
Aug 2016 - $35.00
$34.50/night w/50a full hookup. Very easy in/out and close to I-40 exit. Excellent signage. Stayed 2nd night to visit Petrified National Park 20 miles away. Didn't use facilities except to dump/fill. Entire parking area is a little sloped. Few trees, good satellite, good electric. Close to freeway exit and easy in/out. Would stop again. - Bells
Aug 2016 - $34.00
Probably the best park we've stayed at for the last 3 weeks. Long, level pull through sites. Good cable and wifi. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. - arkietraveler
Aug 2016 - $45.00
Employee at desk was nice and helpful. Wifi was real weak and unable to use.
Attempted to make online reservations and stated unavailable. I called and they had plenty of spots available. Great dog run. Clean restrooms. Would definitely stay here again. - Campground Review
Jul 2016 - $41.00
Level site (didn't have to unhitch). A fairly secure area. The utilities ok, satellite reception ok. Site roughly 65 x 30, gravel and dirt. Great location, easy off and on to I-40. - Kid911
Jul 2016 - $43.00
Staff was easy to work with. Sites are gravel. Cable and wifi worked good. Good location to visit Petrified Forest and Painted Desert Natl Park. Not much else going on in Holbrook. You only really need 2 nights, but we stayed 3 to hang out and relax a day and use the pool. We would stay here again. - RV Gypsy
Aug 2016 - $19.00
The new owners of this park are trying very hard to get it up to par but they have a ways to go. It looks like they have some pull through sites; ours was a back in and there was not much room between sites. The restroom/shower was a small building that only had one toilet and one shower. The electric was good as was the water quality. Also had FHU. The wifi was so sketchy as to be non-existent (and no cable). I could hardly get any wifi signals on my jetpack and phone was sketchy as well. There was no rec hall or any other amenities. The dog park they furnished was real small, but I walked up the "primitive road" and was able to let the dogs loose there. The new owners are very nice and helpful. They also have a nice patio area with tables and chairs and sell petrified wood pieces. - Kerch Family
Aug 2016 - $19.00
Was ok for an overnight stay. Very nice people and the price was right for full hook ups. Shower was unusable. It was old and looked like there might be snakes or at least spiders and only one. Lots of ants around the dirt campsites. Bathroom in clubhouse was clean. Probably wouldn't stay there again or for more than 1 night. - Sandygranny
Aug 2016 - $20.00
We stayed here when it was Root 66 about a year ago. At the time the owners said the place was up for sale. In that year, the place sold. The new owners are a young, energetic, and motivate married couple.
The place under this new ownership is so much cleaner and you can see the hard work they've done to make the place more than just a stop on your way to somewhere. The new owners are also trying to acquire an adjoining property to expand the park. In other words, they are dead serious about making this RV park a place to stay for more than the one or two nights. And what a pleasant couple they are to deal with.
Yes, we highly recommend this park.
Easy off/easy on I-40 regardless the direction you're traveling. Full hook-ups, and a dump station, if you need it.
Excellent for pets and kids as they have a dog area and playground, respectively. I can't comment on the WiFi, cable, or showers as we are self-contained and usually don't require any park amenities.
I wish this couple the very best, and continued success with the RV park. - R_R PRanger
Aug 2016 - $25.00
We stayed here just for an overnight on our way home. We had called prior to arrival to make sure there were still sites available and were told there were some. That was an under statement! There were only two other RV's and two tent campers in the entire park. Pads are level and flat gravel pads with water and electric only. It was understandably quiet because the park was almost empty, with just a distant sound of a train ever now and then. There was no hot water in the showers on the day we were there and only one trash receptacle in the entire park, which was by the dump station on your way out. Our Verizon signal was good but NBC was the only national channel we got. We would probably not stay here again unless we were really exhausted just based on others places we've stay for the same cost with more amenities. We liked it...just didn't love it... - Thirtygoodyears
Aug 2016 - $25.00
This is a little State park. You can park a long 5th wheel or trailer using one of the spots parallel to the campground road. Or there are many back-in and tents spots too. We were right across from the restrooms in Spot #8 with a small tree for some shade from the hot western sun in August. My wife thought Spot #10 was the best for shade and convenient, handicap-accessible access to the showers and restrooms. It was really hot until the sun went down, then it cooled off and was beautiful being outside! Big skies over Winslow with distant trains in the night. Awesome! The ruins are fun to check out also. Fire rings and BBQ grills too. The park was probably 10-15% full when we were there, but they are laid out nicely so there's no one on top of you. - SLOman
Jul 2016 - $25.00
Resonably priced. Spacious sites. W/E only, but a dump station. If you want a peaceful desert site for star gazing, this is your place. Close to Winslow where you can stand on the corner. - fyrmnjim
Oct 2013 - $22.00
Overnight stopover with 30 amp fairly level gravel site behind gas/store. Attendant very helpful. Big rig with toad pulls along row of hook ups. The remainder of the park is full of permanents. Roads rough in that area. Taking a space just behind the store avoids holes & puts you pretty much on your own. Road noise, so you must keep windows closed. We would take this spot overnight again only if it times out for overnight! - Proud Mary
Sep 2011 - $22.00
This park was formerly called Freddies RV Park. It has trash on the ground. The sewer fixtures do not have caps; at best they are covered with plywood boards that blow off in the wind. There is noise from I-40 nearby. Sites are nearly level, a mix of gravel and dirt, have little or no shade, and are short, narrow, and close together. Roads are a mix of gravel and dirt, wide, with many potholes. The office is in the Winslow Fuel gas station at 1 Transcon Lane, Winslow AZ 86047, phone 928 289 9177. Staff are friendly. Verizon data service works well. The rate is with tax; no discounts are offered. Credit cards are accepted. - wjzcbn
Jun 2010 - $22.00
We stayed here because there were decent supermarkets for us to stock up as our next stop was for 8 nights and a long ways from shopping. It's basically a gravel lot with hookups, just off exit 255. Take your own paper if you want to use the toilet. Most sites are vacant except for the occasional long term tenant. No credit cards. Self registration is likely. - rvfulltime
May 2011 - $16.00
Great park! Very clean and well managed. All sites are Southwest style landscaping with small stones, landscape timbers and small trees. They have an ala carte style fee schedule. My rate of $16 was for Camp Club USA, 30 amp and no sewer. I'll stay here whenever I'm passing by. - Paul & betty
May 2006 - $15.00
This was a decent park no bells and whistles but nice to stay in for a few nights if you are passing through. Manager is a very nice man who loves kids. I would stay here again. No bathrooms and no laundry room. But there are 7 or more laundromats within 5 miles. - Mrs Anne
Sep 2005 - $17.00
Good overnight stop only. Good hook-ups for the rate. Gravel. I don't believe they had restrooms or showers. - woodallmd
