Beautiful scenery! Spacious lots. Site surface is a concrete pad featuring a fire ring and picnic table.

Park needs a shuttle service for RV'ers who don't have a tow vehicle behind motorhome, to access Marina, water more easily. A very steep grade from Marina/Water to RV Campground. Rock trail is no easier! If you have no tow vehicle with your motorhome, you best be able to scale the hill. I'm surprised disabled RV'ers are not given more consideration! A shuttle/golf cart pick up each hour to and from Marina to Campsites would be easy to do and give someone a job too!

We were disappointed in how many RV'ers leave trash behind! Shame on them!! The Marina staff are wonderful, very helpful, thank you! We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Motorhome.

This is a gorgeous campground with views of the Colorado and surrounding canyon. It was 114° when we pulled into our site in early July and only got down into the low 90°s at night, so expect the heat if visiting in the summer. The site was an immaculate pull-through with good water pressure (all water was hot- no need for a water heater!) and electric. No cell service, but free wifi available. The road into the campground is steep, rough, and curvy. Would not be fun at all in a rainstorm! We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are many Gamble's quail around the campground as well as big horned sheep which come down from the mountains to drink from the river.

Great park to visit Hoover Damn and to kayak the Colorado River. The site was great and had plenty of space and was easy to get into. The sites are gravel and during our time there the heat was intense Great place to Kayak. We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

This was an overnight stop for us and I selected it based on other reviews - it was an excellent choice. I may be a bit biased because I feel we had the best site in the campground, A7. A long pull through with good spacing from other sites and a large picnic area. We were the highest rv site in the campground and had a little view of the water. The road down from the highway is narrow and a bit winding with some lumpy patches from the many times the water and dirt have crossed it in rainstorms. During our one night stay it rained hard all night and we wondered if we might get to stay an extra day or two because of road closure but no such luck. The roads and the sites are all paved and other than the one or two next to the restrooms, they all seemed to be nice sites. Verizon did not work, not even a blip. I suspect this might be a very warm place in the summer and is probably very popular for families. This is in a NRA so you need to pay to enter or have a park pass. Register at the marina store. We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

One of my absolute favorite places to stay! Not much to do, and no recreational facilities other than boat rentals and hiking trails, but drop-dead gorgeous views. Road into the campground has been washed out a few times in flash floods, but campground itself is safe because it is high above the river. Roads in campground are paved and in very good condition, as are campsites and all facilities. Sites have a large cement pad and asphalt entrances to pad. No cell service, but free WiFi worked fine, especially with my booster. Also, I was pleased to find a washer and dryer available, which is a very nice bonus. Incredibly quiet and dark at night, which is hard to find these days. I would love to rent a boat sometime, but cannot do that alone. I am taking their raft trip from Hoover Dam next weekend. Incredible value for a full hookup site with senior pass. We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring everything you need because it is at least 30+ miles to the nearest grocery store. And keep your eyes out for bighorn sheep!

This part of Lake Mead was unknown to me at first because I was unaware that Lake Mead extended to Arizona. This little gem is right on the lake, very beautiful when the sun rises. It was VERY hot as well.

We only stayed for one night but it was great. The bathrooms are near by. If you have a boat, there's a boat landing as well. It was very dark and quiet at night, but the parking lot is well lit. Also, if you don't like bugs, bring bug spray and some Off. We didn't explore all that much, but it was fun. We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent desert RV park not far from Colorado River. Sites have spacious, level, concrete pads, and utilities are good. Campground has strong, reliable WiFi. Sites are high up on hill, away from possibility of flash floods, so plan for a walk to the river! We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Motorhome.

Beautiful spacious sites, fantastic views, staff that will bend over backwards to make your stay perfect. We loved this place! Caution: 4.4 miles of narrow 2 lane paved road takes you from 93 down into the camp. Its not bad, just be careful and go slow. Can't say enough about the staff. We moved sites, received UPS packages and interacted with all the staff finding them to be highly motivated and a total joy. Very big rig friendly with all the water, hiking and biking opportunities you can ask for! Check in at the marina store before going up the hill to the campground. Tips for other Campers:

Highly recommend the long raft trip. Book at the marina and plan on about 4 hours total. Hiking trails around the Hoover Dam for all levels of ability. Check out the Clark County Museum. Its a bargain at $2 per person.

Traveled with a small group of campers and we all had very nice campsites. It's a long way from the water and store but still very enjoyable. There is little to no cell service in the area. The also is no clubhouse for groups to use. There are handicap spaces available. We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Motorhome.

This is considerably off the main road, but very nice and quiet. The sites are large, clean, and paved. Gorgeous views on all sides. The sites closest to the river have a small view of the Colorado River, but I stayed closest to the restrooms because that is where the free Wi-Fi hookup was. No cell service at all, but I managed with WiFi. Only about 15 miles to Hoover Dam, so a good place to stay on your way through that area. This is a new park. It is located in a National Park area but is run by the concessionaire. There are boat rentals. Fishing is a popular activity. Not anything for the kids to do here except fish. Close to Hoover Dam and some hiking trails. Can be windy at times. There is no shade around the park except in the day use areas. Nice spots and very spacious between them; not your typical park but is very clean. With no trees or shade can get very hot and fill up quick. Call for reservations. We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

This small c/g, 29 sites with full hook ups. Has only been here for six months, so the landscaping is still to be done. The drive to get to the c/g is four miles down a narrow winding canyon road, till you get to the office/store to check in. Road was paved and the concrete pad was level and long with a pull through, enough space for our RV and towed without unhooking, a picnic table, fire ring/barbecue. The bathrooms and small laundry were spotless, no Wi-Fi or cell signal, but there is an emergency phone if required. There is a small grill and patio overlooking the Colorado River open from 7am to 4pm. A very pretty spot to sit and enjoy a good variety of snacks and drinks. Lovely views from the c/g down to the marina and fishing dock on the Colorado River. It was very peaceful and quiet at night. There are no shops or restaurants close by, so it means a drive to the nearest town, Boulder City, 25 miles away, so bring plenty of groceries. We would stay here again, its a wonderful c/g and once the landscaping is in, it will be spectacular. We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Motorhome.

Willow Beach Marina, located 13 miles south of Hoover Dam on Us Highway 93 and within the boundaries of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area has a new campground that opened in May of 2011. The campground has 29 RV sites and 8 dedicated tent spaces. Most of the sites are pull through and can handle the largest motor homes. The restroom building is very modern with 5 shower rooms outside of the men or women restrooms. Full hooks up are available up to 50-amp service at each site. All of the RV sites are concrete pads that looked to be level from side to side, with a slight slope from front to back for drainage. There is a table and fire ring at all sites. This new campground is on an elevated location, replacing the old campground situated in a desert wash that was destroyed over 20 years ago when a flash flood wiped it out. There is a convenience store at the Marina with a good selection of items. A small grill serves a simple fare for Breakfast and Lunch. 87 and 91 Octane Gasoline is available at a 50 cent per gallon premium over Las Vegas prices (Aug 2011). Boat, PWC and Patio Boat rentals are available for cruising the Colorado River. The Marina and Campground are operated under contract to the NPS. Reservations can be made by calling the listed telephone number. I did not stay at this campground, but plan to in the future. As new campground I gave it a 10. In giving this rating you need to remember that the scenery is barren, but the red sandstone cliffs, surrounding mountains and the Colorado River are breathtaking in their own right. With the campground so new, the Park Service is waiting for temperatures to drop in Sept of 2011 before they put the landscaping in. We camped at Lake Mead Recreational Area - Willow Beach in a Travel Trailer.
