This is certainly one of the premier parks we stay in all year. We have come here every year since 2001 because we have lots of family in the area. There are lots of activities in the park and many opportunities for hiking and bicycling. Also, there are many geocaches hidden in the park. The sites are well groomed and large. Some may take some careful leveling of your rig. The scenery here is gorgeous. The electricity and water hookups are adequate. Our Verizon cell service was great here. We will be back. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We have stayed here before and really enjoyed this park. This time we had a "pull thru" site which is really a "pull off" site, nothing to separate you from the road once you are parked. Prefer the back in sites for longer stays.

Great campground but hard to get into. Make reservations well in advance. Some of the sites are a bite tough to level in. Great facilities. Great hiking and biking. Friendly staff. Can't go wrong! Would be a 10 the sites were a bit more level. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Nice spread out park. Lots of trails between sites! Our group has Ramada A&B group camping and it was very nice. Clean restrooms and facilities. They could use a little better sign-age though. Pointing out where the trash bins are, etc. Nice packed gravel sites that were very level. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice "pull through" site (#45) Just enough room to put out a slide room. Good water pressure and electric. Strong Verizon MiFi Service and a decent AT&T signal too.

It doesn't get any better than this, only wish the trails were closer. It gets very busy on the weekends. Just a really nice park, lots of space. Some sites better than others. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful county park. Most sites are big rig friendly with plenty of room and privacy. Spectacular views in all directions. About 5 miles from shopping. The park books up January - April but we were able to snag a last minute site due to a cancellation. Electric and water but no sewer. Easy access dump station. No wifi but strong Verizon coverage. Will stay here again. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Overall a nice park with easy access into sites. The biggest issue we had with it was the noise from the gun range 'across the street.' It was like being in a military shooting range. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful, natural setting with lots of hiking trails. Convenient to Mesa without being in the city. Verizon and AT&T worked well.

Stayed here a year ago, restrooms do not seem to be as well maintained. Also feel it's a bit pricey for just W/E hookups compared to most county / state parks we stay in, but it's a beautiful location and a nice place to hang out for a couple of weeks. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

A very nice public campground with lots of space between sites. Near enough to town and all services you might need. Like many public campgrounds the sites are not quite level, some more level than others. Each site has a fire pit and concrete picnic table. We stayed here five nights and I didn't see any evidence the shower that I used was cleaned during that period. I didn't have much contact with the camp hosts but the contact I did have was all positive and helpful. Good Verizon signal. Overall a very nice park, I would stay here again. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Within the park there are lots of hiking trails. One very nice trail was the Wind Cave Trail. About 1.5 miles, the park rates it as difficult with an 800' altitude gain. I didn't think it was all that difficult but there were some switchbacks. You'll find a beautiful view at the top of the trail, well worth the effort.

Great park, friendly staff with large pull thru and back ins. Beautiful setting with lots of hiking and biking. Sites are mostly far apart. No sewer, water, or power available in undeveloped part of the park, but a dump station on the way out. Big rig friendly!! We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Motorhome.

We loved this park. It was beautiful and quiet and clean. We didn't have any problems with getting a great spot, probably because of the time of year. We did not want to leave. In order to conserve tank space, I used the park shower every evening. It was very clean and had lots of hot water. There are a lot of hiking trails that go out from the campground. I did not avail myself of them as it was in the high 90's during my stay. There was plenty of space for our 42 foot RV. What a gem. We will definitely come back. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This was one of our most favorite parks and we have rated it a 9 and a 10 in the last years, but not this time. We dry camped for 17$/night in the overflow area, the rate for a developed site is 25$ and all rates are subject to an increase of about 20% in the near future. Without a long planned reservation (8$ fee) it is almost impossible to get one of the developed sites in the park. However, we were happy to drycamp in the group campsite which is used as an overflow. But they really make you feel uncomfortable there. You can only check in for one night at a time and then report to the office each morning at 10 a.m. We had to move our rig three times within the dry camp area(!) while staying for four nights! After the first night we were threatened with a triple fee, because we occupied too much space. Of course we had asked staff for permission to set up our rig this way before. The kicker was the fourth time we had been asked to move. When we decided to pack it in and were already hitched up as half a dozen of fellow campers were also, it turned out to be a false alarm. Everybody could stay where he was this time. Well the damage was already done. We will not come back to Usery. The park is still nice, but noise from the shooting range and traffic along and in the park has picked up significantly. And being kicked around like this time is an experience we don't need to repeat. We camped at Usery Mountain Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.
