We were quoted $49 but charged $54 upon arrival because we had a "back-in" site and there was foliage near the site. We questioned charging us the additional $5.00 for this, but their attitude (though nice) was, "So drive on if you don't like it." The place is very tidy and well kept, the people pleasant and the additional cost wasn't important, just a nuisance "Bait and Switch" con-game to me.

What ruined it for me was the absolutely worthless WiFi service. Difficult to log-on with very, very slow service at best; no service at night with continual log-on issues; impossible to even use not to mention stream. Also, this place is located next to I-17 with eight lanes of traffic, it's at the end of the Deer Valley Municipal Airport runways with aircraft taking off day and night, and there is a company that runs a lumber mill right next door that operates chainsaws all day.

Totally NOT recommended. I'll definitely "drive on" next time I'm in Phoenix. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Tent Trailer.

Our 3rd time at Desert Edge. Meets our needs: location, mountain biking/hiking, spring baseball, dog friendly; even has a dog wash area. We spent a week. Ladies restroom had one of two showers under repair. The one shower drained poorly. The water restrictor is excessive, meaning a slower water flow. Reported this, but nothing done. 2nd shower returned to service with similar low flow water. Not an issue with previous stays. This is a busy campground. Rigs fairly close. Cement pad; picnic table; good landscaping. Plenty of space to walk dogs. Good over the air TV. No cable/WiFi. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Drive around this area and you will find all the shops one needs. Read their useful handouts for locations. Head up 19th Ave about 5-6 miles and there is great hiking/biking in the Sonoran Mt Desert Park.

This was an average park. The site was a little tight for our 5th wheel but we got by. Services were good and the WiFi was adequate. Cable would have been nice even though there were plenty of over the air channels. The camp does need updating and there is a mulch business across the street that when the wind blew toward the camp you got a heavy odor. We would probably choose another campground if we visit Phoenix in the future. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A visit to the capital building provides a great history of Arizona.

Friendly and helpful check-in.
The large gravel sites are level.
Interstate 17 traffic noise is mostly blocked by a high wall. Airport (light) airplane noise is not annoying and hardly present after sunset.
Easterly winds will blow the compost smell of a nearby earth recycling company across the easterly part of the campground.
Restrooms, showers, pool and hot tub are very clean.
Washers are expensive ($ 2.25 to $ 2.75) and dryers also, $ 0.25 per 5 minutes.
No cable, but channels over the air of good quality.
One big disadvantage is that Wi-Fi is provided by (paid) Tango internet. No promotion code given. Wi-Fi connection was good and fast. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Information for foreign campers dependent on Wi-Fi: you get one day free Tango internet access for one specific device if you register that device. Only a login name and password is necessary.
Otherwise $5 per day or $15 per week is an option for multiple devices (login of only one device at the time is allowed)

Stayed in back for 3 mos. good size lot. No security, office hrs 10-5. No business personnel after 5pm. Homeless come in and out. Key is needed to get in & out of pool area. Bad smell from mulch across street. Community room is always locked except usually when BYOB nights. No activities. Owner says can't use DVD in community room-no permit. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Motorhome.

Had gravel pull through site. Had to use 1/2 inch board to level side to side. Concrete patio and metal picnic table. No cable. 21 over the air TV channels. Very helpful office staff. Would stay here again. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean well maintained park. Level sites, enough room for a car. Verizon 4g very good. No cable, but plenty over the air stations. Dog friendly. This is a good overnight stop. Not much shade, but if you get here early you can find a few that have shade. Paved roads, gravel sites. Hook up's at rear of site and electric may be on wrong side, depending on the site. Did not find a problem with freeway noise or planes. Wifi is Tengo Internet 24 hours free and then paid. Camp seems well kept and neat. Very quiet when we were here. Not sure all sites have cement patios. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Motorhome.

Nice park. Sites were level and well maintained. They had a nice pool. Office is only open from 10AM-5PM which is kind of short hours, but manageable. Location is very convenient because it is within Phoenix city limits and close to I-17, but not so close that you hear any road noise. We did a pull through site, but the back ins here are actually nicer and more spacious (which is kind of unusual, in our experience). We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Motorhome.

If you plan to come to this park get good directions before you turn off I-17 because there is no signage & it is not easy to find. The park is older but well maintained. Wifi is Tengo which worked well for our stay and they do not have cable TV. I doubt we would stay here again. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

For a metropolitan location, it is a relatively quiet campground except for the Deer Valley Airport (western departure is almost directly overhead). Lots of general aviation activity during the day, but mostly dies out in the evening. Only noticed the occasional I-15 traffic (and only when the wind was from the west), but we were on the side furthest from the highway.

Very tight for big rigs in the front section. Checkin parking requires maneuvering thru front section with 4 relatively tight turns. With big rig, park on Williams Drive outside park, drop toad, walk to office to checkin, then bring rig in. This makes for a mostly straight shot to back area where big rig sites are located.

Level gravel sites with concrete patios and some vegetation. Asphalt access roads, but might not be wide enough for two rigs to pass. Getting into sites in back may be complicated by sewer connections inset from rest of utilities and sites at 90 degrees to road.

Power ok, water 80psi, sewer ok (but elevated so may be difficult to get a slope), sewer supports mandatory (AZ law), wifi tengo - adequate for web browsing and email, but not much else (this with the paid 30 day premium access). Verizon LTE variable from 1 to 3 bars, but adequate data speeds. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If going south on I-17 upon leaving, take the LEFT hand ramp from Deer Valley. If you take the right hand ramp you will have a very short merge area across 3 lanes of traffic due to AZ 101 exit. The left hand ramp merges south of AZ 101 thus avoiding the merge across multiple lanes.

This place is highly recommended. The sites are gravel with concrete table areas and are all tidy. Laundry was excellent and the games room / TV guest room was a big plus, (we didn't use the bathrooms). Staff are really friendly and helpful. I would stay again. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Travel Trailer.

I think you'll find this park OK, not remarkable, but good enough. The interior roads are paved and in fairly good condition. The sites are gravel, reasonably level, and have aluminum picnic tables. Daily/weekly sites are pull-through, a little tight to pull into, no shade and little space between. Monthly sites are back-in, have more space between and some shade. Water pressure was very low (18-22 PSI) so we filled our tank and used on board water. There's a nice pool and jacuzzi, a couple of small dog runs and one large one as well as an outside pet wash station. The park is in an industrial area and adjacent to the I-17 freeway. It's a little less than 2 miles from a major retail and dining complex. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Motorhome.

Very nice park on the north edge of the Phoenix area. We had a level, gravel, pull through site. Sites have concrete patio and aluminum picnic tables. Many over the air TV channels. The Wi-Fi was very slow. Very dog friendly park. Staff was very helpful. We stayed for seven nights. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

This place ended up feeling like home after 2 months of staying there. The park was outstanding, the residents and snow birds were friendly, and the staff was kind, considerate and helpful. The park truly was "family-friendly" and we felt welcome there the second we pulled in. The pool was warm and wonderful. The laundry facilities were more than adequate. The community room and fitness/rec room were accommodating, clean and not lacking. There were always planned activities to participate in, with lots of yummy and free food. The playground was new, safe and fun. There were lots of citrus fruit trees on site everywhere in the park, all ripe for the taking. Ya gotta love fresh fruit! The sites to pull on were paved, the walking around on your site area was gravel, but there was a decent sized patio that was paved that you would step out of your rig onto. The rest of the park was paved, which made jogging, walking and bike riding an easy task. It was close to numerous attractions and close to downtown Phoenix. We will definitely stay here again if we're ever in the area. We recommend it to others all the time, and they stay there with an equally enjoyable experience. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Travel Trailer.
