Women in the office are the worst we have experienced in many years of motoring across the west. Snarly . Our space 84 was next to the junk pile. We have stayed here many times before because it is close to our grandkids but no more, there are options in the area and we would suggest trying them. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

The public areas of this park are well-kept and quite pretty. We would have stayed longer if we could to enjoy the amenities. Sites were level and everything worked well. Easy access from the highway. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park with all of the amenities. Nice indoor pool and spa, coffee room, meeting hall, pool room, library and game room. I was in a back-in site which was pretty wide, but on sand and no picnic tables. The pull-thrus are rock but are narrower. The transient sites are closer to the freeway which can be noisy at times. When we stayed there the park was full. I went to take a shower and no water pressure. I asked about it and they said that's what happens when the park is full. We would stay again but it wouldn't be my first choice. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here to visit a friend. Okay for overnight. Park was clean, laundry nice, but sites close together. We had a pull through and just a small space on either side. We could hear the water heater go on in the RV next to us. No table or fire ring. All sand. Many full timers here and back in sites look a bit bigger. Would stay overnight but would not do an extended stay. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a week and paid $218.00. I know this isn't a good time of the year to be in Phoenix, especially here. We were put in an area that was a gravel "parking lot" with no trees or bushes. No table. Full hookups. So if this is what you like, go here. They have all the facilities you need. If you live in a mobile home in this park you might like it because you will be close to the buildings. But not if you are in a RV staying a short time. Not a place I would stay at again. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate fairly high for no free Wi-Fi and no cable TV. Nice pool and spa, but not kept up well. When we checked in, I asked about the spa and front desk said water level was low. I said why don't you fill it. Got no answer. When went to use the spa, water was so low that the filter pump was cavitating. Women's shower room has no ventilation and smells moldy. Puddle of stale water in a low spot by the floor drain. Next day the pool had been cleaned and the spa was filled. Pull-through sites are wide and very long and are gravel but fairly level. Close to freeway but noise is minimal. Nice laundry facility. Ben Avery shooting range close by and you can hear it from time to time. The transient sites have no shade and this place is right in the middle of the desert, so expect some warm days. Have stayed here several times since 2009. Price has gone up and maintenance has gone down during that time. Park is very close to shopping and fuel and eating establishments. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here for a month. Our site was large and had a concrete pad but was close beside a permanent mfg home. The management here is very quick to enforce even small inadvertent infractions. Many rules here! Coyotes and wild Javelina pigs wander thru the park daily even though it is barely north of Phoenix. We will not return here! We picked this park out due to price . We are here for the winter. Found it to be a real gem! Staff and permanent residents have all been friendly.

Everything is clean and well taken care of. Close to shopping. We will come back next year! Price rate based on monthly 395.00. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is an UPDATE: Since we were here last December 2012, the park has changed management. It has also chanced it's name from an "RV park" to a "RV resort" with no change in amenities except a substantial rate increase: from $21 in December to $34 in April 2013. There is still no security whatsoever, and the speeding through the "resort" is atrocious. We stayed here for a week and probably will not return. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for a week. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites were level, but not very wide; if the park is full, staff said April, the rigs would be very close. When we were there, we had plenty of room. Most sites are permanent residents and definitely no speed control of any kind. No free Wi-Fi and cable was not available, but plenty of Phoenix stations on the antenna. The activities were attended mainly by the residents; pool and pool room was great and many other activities were available. The park has a huge clean laundry room and showers. The park is in the country, but shopping was close. We would stay here again. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

OVER 55 Park. Love it. Only has grand-kids for short bursts. Gave this park an 8 because no free WiFi and no cable TV. Beautiful 20' X 50' indoor heated pool and huge hot tub. Spent several days here. Rate is a tad bit high, but relatively quiet location is convenient to shopping and needs. Will stay here again. No staff on Sundays so you pick your own spot and settle up on Monday. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is ok. But as usual the extended stay people do not have to obey the rules. Dogs were unleashed, speeding through the park. Ok for an overnight but not for more time than that. At this rate it's not worth it. No cable TV, no WiFi. Actually nothing but hook-ups. We paid less than this in Tucson at a resort. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

We were here for the month of March. The nightly rate reflects our month plus electricity. We looked at over 20 parks in and around Phoenix before deciding on this one. The remote location is nicely balanced by the space and views. The pool problem is solved, and the pool and spa (although indoor) were convenient and clean. The park is located conveniently close to shopping, Lake Pleasant, and the Ben Avery shooting range. There are also about 3 miles of walking trails in the desert behind the park (watch for snakes). This place will be our choice again next year for Spring Training, and maybe even longer. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

We stay here four times a year since our kids live in nearby Anthem Country Club. We always request and are given (so far) the same spot on the main road entering the park. On our recent visit. There were never more than three short term units on site. I guess July in Phoenix when it is 115 degrees and no shade in site is not a great time for RVing. On our stays during other months of the year there is always a fair number of RV's but we have never seen this park full. We really like staying here and recommend it to others coming to the area. This is a hard one to rate. On the plus side it is easy to get to right off the highway 17. The pull through sites are long but very narrow. Sometimes the rigs have to jockey around so they can open the slides. They are a 55+ campground that has all sorts of activities and get togethers such as dancing, singing and Pot Luck dinners. Several groups also come here for the spring training season. Close to many shopping areas. It is great to get up in the morning to watch the hot air balloons rising up into the sky. Drawback and main reason I rate it so low is the pool area. The building the pool is in has major roof problems and they are supposed to be fixing it this summer. My wife and I went swimming one day and after seeing the pieces of rusty metal on the floor and in the pool we said no way and never went back. They have free Wi-Fi in the lobby but it is down more than it is up. One point to note: Many people here are here for the Ben Avery Shooting Range. So if you don’t like the sound of small arms fire (once in a while a small cannon), or afraid to see people loading and unloading their weapons from the vehicles, then this place is not for you. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
