As we are full timers we contacted Pioneer RV Resort prior to placing an order to be delivered prior to our arrival. Were told no problem. Upon check-in was told they did not accept package?! Very disappointed!!! We had scheduled an installation of said part the next day!!!! We even paid extra to have it delivered prior to our arrival. They are also, over the top picky about where pets can and can't be. Never returning as they do not consider the needs of full timers. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Park is basically a full-timer Park with diagonal pull-thru sites for overnighters (imagine a gravel parking lot) Spaces are very close together. No shade. There is no cable and if you want WiFi you have to go into the clubhouse to get it. Be prepared to wear a tacky stick-on name badge if you want to use any of the amenities.

Positives are that it's close enough to go back into Phoenix area and many places to shop and eat. I wouldn't recommend for anything other than a one nighter. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Park employees were very helpful in guiding me to my site and gave me contact information for a locksmith when a lock on my hitch froze. We had a back-in site. Our sewer and water hoses were too short for the layout of the utilities so we headed to nearby Anthem and purchased extensions. The park only has a museum complex as a neighbor and looks very secure. The museums are worth a few hours visit. We will return during out next trip to Ben Avery Shooting Range for competition. (Yes you can hear gunfire coming from the south of this RV Park.) We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

The nearby Pioneer Museum is worthwhile. There is plenty of retail at I-17 exits north and south of the park. Nearby Ben Avery Shooting Range has good trap and skeet fields.

Okay for a night when passing thru. Site was marked with orange paint to denote where you MUST park your rig. All utilities worked fine. Noise from I-17 and the gun range over the hill. I had to disconnect because the front of my truck was on the road. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The park supervises your parking having you park your unit right on the lot line close to the next lot. Apparently they allow temporary sun canopies and, during the night with the desert winds picking up, the canopy from the lot next to us (being improperly secured) blew down and into the side of our new motorhome causing over $3000 in damage to the paint and decals. Other parks in the area do not allow these canopies for this very reason. The park caters to long term stays. As such, the only shower available is inside the enclosed pool area. It's not really set up for short term visitors. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

The rate quoted is monthly, electricity is extra. We have stayed here many years and love the park and the people. The park is an older park but maintenance is top notch. Many upgrades being done. Being an older park there are issues, mostly with the water. Pressure is low in the morning, pipes break almost every month so we make sure our tanks are full. Love the park, the location, near everything but far enough away, quiet, everyone is friendly and many activities. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

The public areas of this park are well-kept and quite pretty. We would have stayed longer if we could to enjoy the amenities. Sites were level and everything worked well. Easy access from the highway. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Women in the office are the worst we have experienced in many years of motoring across the west. Snarly . Our space 84 was next to the junk pile. We have stayed here many times before because it is close to our grandkids but no more, there are options in the area and we would suggest trying them. This is a nice park with all of the amenities. Nice indoor pool and spa, coffee room, meeting hall, pool room, library and game room. I was in a back-in site which was pretty wide, but on sand and no picnic tables. The pull-thrus are rock but are narrower. The transient sites are closer to the freeway which can be noisy at times. When we stayed there the park was full. I went to take a shower and no water pressure. I asked about it and they said that's what happens when the park is full. We would stay again but it wouldn't be my first choice. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here to visit a friend. Okay for overnight. Park was clean, laundry nice, but sites close together. We had a pull through and just a small space on either side. We could hear the water heater go on in the RV next to us. No table or fire ring. All sand. Many full timers here and back in sites look a bit bigger. Would stay overnight but would not do an extended stay. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed for a week and paid $218.00. I know this isn't a good time of the year to be in Phoenix, especially here. We were put in an area that was a gravel "parking lot" with no trees or bushes. No table. Full hookups. So if this is what you like, go here. They have all the facilities you need. If you live in a mobile home in this park you might like it because you will be close to the buildings. But not if you are in a RV staying a short time. Not a place I would stay at again. Rate fairly high for no free Wi-Fi and no cable TV. Nice pool and spa, but not kept up well. When we checked in, I asked about the spa and front desk said water level was low. I said why don't you fill it. Got no answer. When went to use the spa, water was so low that the filter pump was cavitating. Women's shower room has no ventilation and smells moldy. Puddle of stale water in a low spot by the floor drain. Next day the pool had been cleaned and the spa was filled. Pull-through sites are wide and very long and are gravel but fairly level. Close to freeway but noise is minimal. Nice laundry facility. Ben Avery shooting range close by and you can hear it from time to time. The transient sites have no shade and this place is right in the middle of the desert, so expect some warm days. Have stayed here several times since 2009. Price has gone up and maintenance has gone down during that time. Park is very close to shopping and fuel and eating establishments. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here for a month. Our site was large and had a concrete pad but was close beside a permanent mfg home. The management here is very quick to enforce even small inadvertent infractions. Many rules here! Coyotes and wild Javelina pigs wander thru the park daily even though it is barely north of Phoenix. We will not return here! We picked this park out due to price . We are here for the winter. Found it to be a real gem! Staff and permanent residents have all been friendly.

Everything is clean and well taken care of. Close to shopping. We will come back next year! Price rate based on monthly 395.00. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

This is an UPDATE: Since we were here last December 2012, the park has changed management. It has also chanced it's name from an "RV park" to a "RV resort" with no change in amenities except a substantial rate increase: from $21 in December to $34 in April 2013. There is still no security whatsoever, and the speeding through the "resort" is atrocious. We stayed here for a week and probably will not return. We camped at Pioneer RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.
