Overall Rating:

This is a 55+ plus park with pull-through and back in sites. Most sites are level with a gravel base for parking. There is a paving stone sitting area enclosed on two sides by fencing which affords some privacy from your neighbor. We did not have the same issue with the sewer hose and sewer pipe as reported by a previous reviewer. The park is very clean and appears to be well maintained. We requested branches be trimmed that were extending out into the site, and the camp host took care of it right away. The hot tub was out-of-order but we were told it would be repaired and available for use within a couple of days. There seems to be a lot of activities available during the winter season, which ended the end of March. Only a few activities were still going when we arrived early April. The small restaurant had also closed. Noise will be an issue for some travelers as this park sits close to the Interstate and railroad tracks. We would stay here again. We camped at Picacho Peak RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Picacho Peak State Park is next door so lots of hiking trails available. For geocachers, there are caches within walking distance of the park. The AZ GeoArt cache is about 16 miles to the north.

This is a very beautiful, well kept up park. Staff was ok. Two major complaints though. On many of their sites - by their own admission - the gravel pad is low compared to the sides and the the sewer pipe sticks an additional 10 inches or so up from that. Guess what? Tanks don't dump and they have no dump station. Secondly, they have the worst wifi that we have seen in many, many years. They admit it is bad. I am using Verizon hot spot now as it is the only way I can get online. We will not come back. We camped at Picacho Peak RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Really nice sites at this park, with picturesque white fencing around a sitting area, which affords some privacy. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. We paid $202 for a week. However, if you are sensitive to outside noise, particularly fast moving traffic or a train, you may not enjoy your stay. There is some easy hiking out in the back of the park, and a state park is just down the road, for some good hiking. We camped at Picacho Peak RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

Just a two-nighter! Stayed here before and would stay again. Hey this is right next to the freeway & train tracks... is it noisy...yes! Call me crazy but after a bit we didn't hear it much. If you are 40' or more be sure and tell them you want the "big rig" area! Really nice swimming pool area, café and more. It is 28 miles to any sort of restaurant or shopping. Dairy Queen is just a mile away! We camped at Picacho Peak RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Five star if there was WiFi and less highway and train noise. The facility is a $40 plus facility for under $30! The pool and Jacuzzi are first class. The on site exterior evening restaurant has good food and service at very fair prices and No Dishes! I have stayed here several times over the last ten years. I have never been disappointment. Our pull thru was a bit tight but we were told that this summer they were scheduled to be reconfigured to make then easier to access. Our wide body with apposing slides fit just fine. First of all, A 5 star resort "must" have WIFI for their customers. The park lets you buy WiFi from a third party vendor. Then when you drive in you have to make a hairpin turn to get out of traffic in the park to register. The sites are gravel mixed with dirt.

Most of the sites art flat halfway through and sloped the rest of the way. Also the utilities are at the for extreme end of the campsite. Forcing you to back your RV up all the way to the end and still use two sewer lines to connect. We camped at Picacho Peak RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three nights and would certainly return. The park was very clean and well landscaped. Our site was just wide enough for our trailer with three slides, but the length was fine, and we didn't have any issues getting the utilities connected. No wifi except in the library, which is fine with us. Cell coverage was strong. Noise from IH-10 and the railroad track beyond was always present. We slept with the AC blower going and the white noise was sufficient. Office hours are 9:00 am till 3:00 pm, and since we were leaving the park early and returning later we had an issue with getting in to pay for an extra night. We camped at Picacho Peak RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed overnight Overnight spaces are pull throughs and are large enough for motorhome and tow. There was a privacy fence, patio and picnic table. Nice spaces for an overnight stay. Lots of longer term residents in RV's and small cottages. Close together but very tidy. Large central complex with pool, hot tub, and activity center. Only negatives were pretty bad highway noise and no cable TV. We camped at Picacho Peak RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night and wished we could stay a week. A beautiful park full of nice desert landscaping. A small but fully equipped park. We ate dinner in the cantina the food was good and very reasonably priced. Super clean, super well maintained. A great stop on I-10. We camped at Picacho Peak RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park with easy to get into slots. Next door to the state park with plenty of hiking. Pool was warm as was the spa. Exercise room was well equipped and maintained. Free internet at the library only. Major draw back is that it is located next to the freeway and railroad. If this kind of noise bothers you it could be an issue. Do not miss the Ostrich farm next door. Its well worth the seven dollars. We camped at Picacho Peak RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
