The park is quiet and adjacent to trails to nearby Watson Lake. That part is just terrific. Sites do not have concrete pads which makes things pretty dusty but do have picnic tables. Our site had quite a bit of trash that we picked up for them. There is no dog walk except the trail to the lake. (Prescott does have a public dog park, however). We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

great museums, great trail around Watson Lake and a very cute historical downtown

This is a unique camp ground in that it is nestled in granite dells. The rock formations look like something only Disney could create. The park itself is well maintained. Gravel roads and fairly level sites. We stayed in site 55 which was a pull through and required leveling. Outside our door were granite boulders going straight up providing great privacy. However, on the other side we had two camp sites within 10 feet of us. Noisy children and barking dogs were somewhat of an issue. Most of the sites are pretty tightly spaced. All of the hookups worked fine. TV antenna reception was poor and there was no cable. AT&T wireless/data worked well. While the restrooms and showers were cleaned they smelled terrible. No campfires are allowed in this park. There are trails leading to Watson Lake and out through the granite dells. This park is convenient to shopping and dining and easy access to downtown Prescott. While we enjoyed our stay, I think we might try a new place on our next visit to Prescott. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Old downtown Prescott and Whiskey Row on the square. The Palace Saloon was neat to see. Definitely visit the Sharlot Hall Museum just off the court house square. Excellent exhibit and history of the Arizona territory and local law enforcement. Hiking around Watson Lake and the Granite Dells provides a Disney like experience as I've never seen terrain like that anywhere else.

This park is on a hillside amongst boulders and trees right next to Lake Watson city park. We had a very private site for our 24 ft motorhome and decided to stay two nights. They had someone help us get into our spot and were all very helpful. After hiking around the lake the hot, clean showers were perfect. We would stay again. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tree cover, nice for heat, bad for satellite antenna. 30A service, level gravel site. Close to town, trails lead to Watson Lake. Many long timer residents. No fires allowed. We would stay here again... We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We flat out loved this place. Our site was spacious and well separated from other sites with foliage. It was large and flat. The views were wonderful with our camper backing up to the Dells. We were also only one site away from the trail to Watson Lake campground where other family was staying in tents. One minor caveat, the road from the lower campground to the upper, WJR we stayed, didn't seem wide enough for two RVs to pass. It never caused us a problem, but it is something to be aware of. Wi-Fi was only at the office, but they'd were experimenting on how to expand it to all sites. The bathhouses were possibly the best we have ever seen. The showers were huge and well appointed with plenty of hot water. There was a break in the main water line into the campground which left us without water for one day. The staff was great about telling us about it in advance and then driving around to the sites once water was restored to let us know. Cell phone coverage was OK for both AT&T and Verizon. Our whole family loved climbing the rocks in the Dells. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed our stay at Point of Rocks Campground for 4 nights. It feels woodsy, but near to the conveniences of town. Because we have a 37' motorhome & towing a car, they gave us two narrow sites to use (#29 & 30), which worked well for us. We were pretty near the office, so we got very good wifi, though we talked to others further away and they didn't get wifi at all. Bathrooms were older, but were relatively clean. They did charge us $3/night for each child over 5 years old. We only had two grandkids with us, so wasn't too bad. Gravel Site was pretty level and had trees around it. We took the trail where you could view lake and you need good hiking shoes for that. It isn't a park great for bikes. Trail to Watson Lake was at least a 15 min. hike. They only had a couple sites with 50 amps. We had to settle for 30 amps, which was OK to use the A/C. They don't allow generators to be used. No wood fires allowed- only charcoal or propane. This campground served us well for our purposes. One reviewer said there were no restrooms, but there are some near the office with showers. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The center of historic Prescott is only 15 min. drive away. The unique Granite Dells are very close and interesting to see. The nearby lakes water level appeared low, but we did not spend any time at the lake.

We stayed in one of the few 50 amp spots. It was a pull-through. It was a good size and there was plenty of room for the coach and the toad. The sites are dirt but most looked level. Some sites are among the rocks. There was nice shade at the sites. The roads are a little narrow but you can get through.

The park is in a beautiful setting. The hiking and dog walking is incredible! It is an easy walk to Watson Lake and miles and miles of trails. There is access to trails directly from the top loop. You can walk through amazing rock formations and see some great sights.

It is easy access to town.

The Wi-Fi is only at the office and laundry area. I had a strong Verizon signal so used my hotspot.

We would definitely come again. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A trip to Jerome in the car is highly recommended.

Adventure awaits at this campground! Clean, and beautifully situated on a hilltop among the granite dells. Site 9 is high and with a fantastic view. No Wi-Fi to speak of. Other than that, perfect for what you want if you're visiting Prescott: trails, lake, wildlife, views, and all close to town. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

No Wi-Fi but as long as you're aware it's fantastic place.

We chose this park over the rest in the area based on it's location to Prescott and Prescott Valley but, mostly for it's hiking trails and Lake Watson. The park has camping atmosphere even though there are some full time or long term occupants there. You really do not notice them because everyone keeps up their place. The camping spaces have trees in between that give you privacy. All the utilities work. Critters do come in your camp so don't leave anything out. Always a good rule to follow especially in places like this. The trails around the dells to the lake are amazing. So many photo ops. The park is close to the newer shopping and dinning in Prescott Valley and it is also 10 minutes away from Old Prescott where you feel like every great mountain resort you have ever been too. The history is amazing and Whiskey Row is a must place to check out. For dinning, you have to check out the Palace complete with 1800's bullet holes in the ceiling. The cons about the park are few, the road is dirt so you get holes after the rains, the restrooms are very old. The shower stalls are very small. I am not a big person but, you can't bend over in the shower. The camping spots need to have some of their trees trimmed so your slide out won't hit the branches. We have had ants come in the refrigerator air ducts off trees before. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the hike through the Dells to Lake Watson, it is awesome. Also check out Old Prescott and Whiskey Row and the Town Square. It is every cool mountain resort rolled into one.

This is a unique campground; very quiet, clean, has scenic trails and is conveniently located near the heart of Prescott. Some of the trails take you to Watson Lake and Willow Lake. It’s a small drive to the historic Prescott's Whiskey Row, where many shops and restaurants are available. Our site was surrounded by trees, rocks and bushes. Roads and sites are not paved, just dirt. Our site was level, no adjustments needed. This Park includes both back-in and pull-through sites. The staff was very friendly. As always, we travel to other campgrounds when visiting a new location. We determined this was the best campground in the area. We plan on visiting every year. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We were in the "upper campground". Site was small ( our RV is small, so perhaps they put us there based on that). Site was a bit scruffy, but no one on either side, so plenty of privacy. Hookups all worked well. Roads and sites were dirt, site was fairly level. A number of seasonal or permanent residents (one with a vegetable patch), but all were neat and absolutely no problem. Did not use any of the facilities. Wi-Fi only works near the office, perhaps a few sites near it. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would probably return again. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Motorhome.
