Park off Main St, has some trees; some sites are tight but ours was large; next door to a couple of dumpy RV parks, but this one is clean & new owner very nice. Cable TV but limited channels; WiFi iffy but free Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a basic Quartzsite desert campground. Pretty run down in general and the sites are VERY tight especially at the front where we stayed. The price reflects the monthly rate. None of the Quartzsite campgrounds are very nice so this one is about average for Quartzsite. I guess you get what you pay for. Don't know why it gets such a high rating. Interior roads are very tight for big rigs. The people are nice enough but the facility is very run down. No picnic tables. The wifi is unusable. Cable works. Verizon signal is good but data throughput is pretty slow. Very dusty. Wanted to see what the Quartzsite hoopla was all about. We won't be back. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.

Too early for the huge crowds, but we had a great stay. The park is very close to the highway and noise is continuous (which may bother some) - but we did sleep well. Staff welcoming and super-friendly folks from residents to those like us passing through. Good arroyo for walking the dogs, though it isn't fenced for off-leash. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.

First time to Quartzsite, and it was a pleasure. Scouting it out for possible return for the "Big Show" in January. Everyone was super-friendly and we had a very enjoyable stay. Definitely coming back in January 2018.

Our back in space was small, no picnic table or concrete patio. The noise was continuous as our space was next to Interstate 10. Wifi was none existant 99% of the time and cable TV was lacking. The overall appearance was dumpy with empty/deserted campers throughout the park which shows an overall management problem. Roads are in need of repair. Fellow travelers were friendly which made our six months stay in this park tolerable. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A good variety of churches are in Quartzsite, a few good restaurants during the winter season; a big tent RV show in January; a massive amount of merchandise of any kind you'd want or need are available all winter. There are many super-talented musicians who come here to spend the winter and make the jam sessions wonderfully entertaining and free of charge. Jam sessions are held most every evening somewhere in town at one of the areas RV parks.

Overall Rating:

I'm a retired, 8-year, full timer. Solo. Longest stay was one year in Oregon. Been in many parks, from Walmart, CCC camps, city parks, BLM, state parks, anywhere from one night to two months. In short, seen a lot of RV parks of all stripes. 88 Shades is, hands down, the best place I've parked my 22-foot Minnie Winnie. Whether you need a place for one night, or the rest of your life, it offers the most amenities, and the most professional and polite staff you will find anywhere. Though not a "seniors only" park, most of the residents are mature, friendly, and helpful-- most of the population of Quartzsite fit the same description. Two shower facilities, and a hot tub in one. An open area next to the "hot tub" house serves as a gathering for many cookout activities. An onsite lapidary shop opens in the busy season, and there I learned to take a rock and turn it into a set of ear rings on my first day there. Office staff are all calm and friendly and will suggest the many activities from free movies and popcorn, to a weekly game of Texas Hold'em (three dollar, one-time buy in and a great way to meet people and try for the big money that can run up to twenty dollars, ha). Quartzsite maintains its own unique character, and 88 Shades will provide all the info you need to amaze yourself. The spots are spacious and well maintained, AND, 88 Shades is one of the only two parks in the region that offer cable tv in the price. The WIFI is dependable and bandwidth good to excellent for Netflix and web browsing. Made up mainly of restaurants (including two or three of your favorite fast foods), RV related businesses, and RV parks. The nearby towns of Parker, and Blythe offer the bigger stores like Walmart, Autozones, and Smart and Final Iris to name a few. 88 Shades is safe, owner and staff are always on point to make that happen. So, if you plan a trip to Quartzsite, 88 Shades is the best deal with the best pricing you will find. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be ready for Arizona heat in summer months. Winter months are gorgeoous and over a thousand tent merchants set up small "mini" cities around town. It's like a big carnival then.

If you're going to Quartzsite we recommend you stay at 88 Shades RV Park. We stayed 1 month in a 30' C-Class. $275.00 + .18kwh. Based on another review; because it was a pull through; we originally reserved site #94. Site #94 faces North to South and the HOT desert sun blasted us broadside all day long. On the 2nd day one of the friendly maintenance men; showed us to site D2, a back in facing East to West with a beautiful orange tree shading the back of our rig. 88 Shades offers plenty of activities. From a once a month pot luck lunch to a weekly evening campfire with hotdogs, smores and live entertainment. There is a karaoke night, a sing-a-long night, bingo night and more. There is even a free to use; almost regulation size professional pool table located in it's own building. 88 Shades is also with walking / bicycling distance of gem stores; monuments and museums. The most pleasant part about staying at 88 Shades RV Park were the people. The 20 or so permanent residents; the employees and the owner of the park made our stay very enjoyable. Do want to add this about the temperature in Quartzsite, AZ in May; 107 degrees 21 days in a row. There is a saying that the heat in Arizona is a dry heat and doesn't affect You the same way. You roast a turkey in dry heat. Bring plenty of water and be sure Your A/C is working. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.

Go see the Hi-Jolly Monument, the Tyson Well Museum, the 1,000 year old ironwood tree and Silly Al's Pizzeria. If you need parts for your rig visit RV Lifestyles on Dome Rock Road. Very knowledgeable and reasonably priced.

We picked this campground for its location and positive reviews and we were not disappointed! This is a well established, older campground with lots of well maintained park models and it had all the amenities that we were looking for. The showers and laundry areas are cleaned daily and sparkled! Washers and dryers worked well, in addition there was a wonderful paved area with plenty of clothes lines. How nice to use a clothesline in February under the beautiful Arizona sun! We received mail in a timely fashion, and management is on site and any concerns were taken care of promptly. There were lots of activities and seasonal/ permanent residents were friendly and always invited us to those events. They had a sweet dog parade on Valentine's Day which was followed by a party/ dance. They have a nice walking area for dogs as well as an enclosed off leash area. Poop bags were available throughout the park. We definitely will return to this park on our next visit to Quartzite. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Just stayed one night. The overnight spaces were huge pull throughs on a gravel lot. Very convenient for an overnight stay. Easy to get to from I-10 and easy to navigate in the park. Restrooms were clean and the service was good. The rest of the park looked like permanent residents and they were packed in pretty tight. We would definitely stay again for an overnight, but probably not longer. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Stayed a week, for RV show. If you go, ask for sites 72-94, per map. These are really nice pull-thrus. We only got this because the park messed up our reservation and allowed a current tenant to extend. We got 84 for 3 nights and 88 for 4 nights. Inconvenient to move but sites were worth it. Other sites are pretty tight. If never to Quartszite before, the east exit is easiest to navigate, especially leaving town. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ours was not a positive experience. We had reservations for 4 days, but didn't know we were coming when checking in. Had to ask for a map to find our site. Had to return to office to get wi-fi credentials. Never did get to Spa as it was locked and we didn't have access code. When I inquired about a dog run, was told not to use the one listed on map. Mail we had sent to us there was returned as undeliverable. The address on their website is not a mailing address, so call and check first and be sure to get their PO Box #. Nor do they have an email address where issues can be reported. Electricity, at least at our site, bordered on high voltage: 128-130 volts. On the plus side, the overnight area is clean, level, and easily accessible. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yes, Its an older park. Yes, its in Quartzsite. BUT it is one of the nicer parks in town. No pool, but Hot tub was very nice touch. Showers and Laundry room was clean and all the machines worked. I met the owner and spoke with him. He's a nice guy. He knows the park was neglected before he bought it and is working on improving things.. I did not experience the rudeness another poster commented on. Everyone was extremely pleasant and nice to deal with. I was there in April when the season is winding down and it seemed like a nice place. It was on the Main street, so you'll have some road noise but sites are set away from road so its not bad. This could be a nice park. It isn't. There are lovely palm trees and mature cactus gardens and the location is convenient. Unfortunately, there seems to be an overall lack of care, possibly due to the absentee owner [he lives in Canada]. My first observation was of people checking in at the office. The office staff was shockingly rude to everyone, treating paying guests as problems to be dealt with. She actually asked one woman, 'Well, what do YOU want?!' I did not use the restrooms but did use the laundry. Out of eight dryers, five were 'out of order'. I was told by residents that this has been the case for 'a long time'. I spoke to the owner by telephone because, if it were MY business, I'd want to know how it was being run. The owner spoke as if he was concerned about the park but I had the impression he didn't really care about the rude staff or the general lack of maintenance. The residents are very nice people and they deserve much better. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very old park. At least two thirds of the park are full time residents and many have very run down units. The cable and wifi worked well. Unless you get a site in the "A" row I would not stay. In the back of the park is another section for short term stays called the B row. If you have a large motorhome or 5th wheel it is difficult to get in and out. Main road is paved and sites are gravel. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.
