Last year, I stayed here and the wifi worked well, but this year, I got bumped off every few seconds. The woman in the office said I was lucky to get any connection and that I should go to the clubhouse to use wifi. It was just as bad there. Forget the wifi for the RVs; just ask for the password to the internet service for the office and use that. It worked great. Management always has the same response when campers complain about internet service: "The problem is that people are actually using it!" The solution is simple: upgrade service that can handle today's wildly wired society. Otherwise, the location has two free showers, with toilet and sink, both clean and modern, although one shower room does not have electrical outlets. There's a collection of movies on VHS (!!!), and a library that rivals a small town's collection. Maneuvering was tight, as I had to back in with limited extra space. Laundry will cost you, but there are free indoor pool and hot tub, plus free outdoor pool. There are annoying and frequent speed bumps along the roads in this park, which is a retirement community with RV spaces for rent. site layout is odd -- you get a shed on each site, but the electric pedestal and other wiring for your neighbor is either hooked onto or immediately next to your shed, which is confusing. Finding the place is difficult. Last year, I did the same thing: turned into the wrong location and had to figure out how to get back on the highway. If you're coming from the east, watch for the large red and yellow flags on your left/south -- DON'T TURN THERE. You turn at the next driveway on the left. If you come from the west, watch for signs on Hwy. 90 that indicate the 4-lane road becomes 2 lanes; that's when you put on your right turn blinker and slow down, as the entrance is close. We camped at Sierra Vista Mobile Home Village and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is primarily a mobile home park. However, don't let deter you from checking it out as a camping option. The mobile homes are very well kept and most are occupied by seniors. The RV part is located at the back of the development in its own section and backs up to undeveloped area giving you wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. The sites are gravel with concrete pads for the picnic table. A unique feature is a large storage shed on each site that was large enough to hold our bicycles and other gear. The office staff is very helpful and one of the permanent residents dropped by to encourage us to participate in some of their organized activities. There are two club houses. One has an indoor pool and spa. The other has an outdoor pool (not heated during the winter). There is a large lending library and everything is incredibly clean. The one concern relates to how tight the road is leading to your site. The space itself was 40' long and there was plenty of room to park our truck behind our fifth wheel. However we had to do some tricky maneuvering to get in and out of the spot. So if you are looking for a good, basic spot to stay while exploring this area, Sierra Vista is worth a look. Also, this is one of the few RV parks where the Wi-Fi actually worked! We camped at Sierra Vista Mobile Home Village and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Brown Canyon Ranch, the Coronado National Monument and Miller's Canyon offer great exploration and hiking. Bisbee is only a 30 minute drive away and the sandhill cranes (20,000 of them) were wintering at the Whitewater Draw.

The good: Location is near everything you want to do in Southeast AZ. We have found the location to all tourist activities to be excellent. Site size is excellent. We are on the corner in site 22 and it is well above average, maybe one of the largest in the park.

The average: Water pressure, full hookups, satellite reception, pool and hot tub.

The poor: Do not let your dog down due to the goat heads growing in the gravel. The "free cable" is barely watchable for the snow. Never did receive the gate code or park rules. Got this info from a neighbor and in turn had our dinner interrupted when someone else was trying to park and no camp host was available. The RV sites are at the back of a very large mobile home community with multiple speed bumps, multiple stop signs and trees overhanging into the street.

General info: The RV sites seem to be mostly permanents who are working for the hospital as traveling nurses or temporarily assigned homeland security folks. People are nice even though they know we are traveling through. GPS and park address do not bring you here. We had to unhook the toad and search for the location. Another person arrived well after dark due to traveling down gravel roads looking for the park. You are on the very edge of the desert with coyote and javalina roaming the park at night. Awakened nightly with "cycle of life" noises and howling. We camped at Sierra Vista Mobile Home Village and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tucked away in the back of Sierra Vista Mobile Home Village located on Hwy 90 as you are leaving town towards Bisbee. This is a very nice little park with lots of amenities. Two club houses and two pools (one is heated and indoors along with an indoor hot tub) This park is right up against Nat. Forest land and is VERY quite. They do not advertise nor have any indication from the road that an RV park exists back here. 33 spaces, several pull though for big rigs. Well worth checking out. Each lot has a cement patio pad and it's own shed. Wifi is fast but not always easy to connect; you may have to walk over to one of the clubhouses. They provide Cable TV as well. Some of the spaces are a little close together while others a very spacious. monthly rate is $385 + electric (a little 'high' but you pay for the location). There is an RV "Resort" next door, but the spaces are very 'sterile' and you are very close to the highway. We have nice views here and lots of wildlife as it's all virgin desert just to us. One of the club houses has a bedroom room rental of $30.00/night if you have a visiting guest... the club houses are two converted homes from the original owners and are both very very nice. We camped at Sierra Vista Mobile Home Village and RV Park in a Motorhome.
