Nice clean mobile home park at the front and rv park in the back. Gravel. No cable tv. Antenna was adequate. Very good wifi. No longer passport america. We stayed here to visit family close by. The pool and hot tub were very nice and clean. The people are very friendly here. Enjoyed our stay. Would stay here again. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Sun Valley RV Resort, owner at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) responded to this review

Thank you so much for the nice review, but it must have been for a different park. We do not have a Mobil Home Park inn front of our park.
We are still Pass Port America.
We do not have a pool or hot tub.
we are in NE Arizona Sun Valley not near Tucson.

Thank you again.

New owners are working on making it better. WIFI is currently satellite, but will change as soon as previous owners' contract is up. Nice place for an overnight while traveling. Close to highway, so some noise. Good electric, good water pressure. Would stop again if on our route. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This is an RV Park under transition, with new owners in the process of fixing it up. We stayed in a 30-amp site, with no sewer hookup. We chose this site in order to have a drive-through site.

The sites were gravel and were level, and were OK, but a little too close together. The wi-fi was truly phenomenal, very fast. The park is quite close to the interstate, so traffic noise is an issue, although not so bad as to keep us awake.

This is a good place to stay for an over-night when on the road, and we would stay here again. With the projected improvements with the new owners, this park will certainly improve. particularly in its overall appearance in the future. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Under new ownership as of Jan 2016; owners are super helpful and friendly. Park is right off I-40, perfect for an overnight. Big, level gravel sites. 30/50 amp, sewer available. Free wi-fi is decent, I could stream Netflix on my phone and my Playstation. Owners are obviously putting a lot of work into fixing up the place. Clubhouse with comfy chairs, satellite tv, and a ping pong table. New washers/dryers in the laundry area. One unisex bathroom with shower and toilet. This is not a fancy place, but it's a great value!

Lot spacing was very close with sunny/open exposure. Site surface was gravel. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the 50 amp area with a 42' Fifth Wheel. Plenty of space, we stayed hooked up. Electric showed good on my monitor. Good water, big rig friendly, easy on and off I-40, wifi good, and nice level spots. Just fine for an overnight place. Don't let the need for paint and construction clean up, sway your decision. New owners have a lengthy "to do" list that they are working on. Owners live on the grounds. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice overnight stop while traveling I-40. Gravel roads and sites. They are mostly level. The park offers nothing more than a place to park for the night, no other amenities. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Motorhome.

A basic CG but that is all we wanted. Not visually appealing but we were there for one reason; to visit the Petrified Forest. Wifi was good and owners very friendly. We were in a site that blocked the freeway noise so everything was pretty quiet. Would stay here again. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Hook-ups worked ok, no park wifi that I am aware of, ATT hotspot worked here.

Just good for grabbing a few hrs sleep. Unkept, muddy, creepy.

The park is for sale I hope someone buys it and spends a little money to fix it up, park could be nice.

Easy on-off I-40, yet noise was not bad. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for one night while traveling from Las Vegas to the East Coast. The park is a great overnight stop. Sites were long and level, easy in and out of the park. Utilities worked as they should and we had a clear shot of the sky for satellite. Verizon signal bounced from 3G to 1x. Owners friendly and helpful. Would stay again if in the area. Did not have Passport America and they would not honor any of the other cards we had. Site has water, elect and sewer but is gravel, has no trees. Very rustic park that is up for sale, so owner is not really doing much to make it look any better. Laundry room was clean but only has 2 machines ($1.75 to wash). NOTE this campground is out in the boonies..... the closest Walmart is 52 miles away. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

A good place for an overnight spot. This is the closest camping spot to the Petrified Forest Forest national Park. It backs to the freeway but there are sites closer to the access road with no traffic noise. The couple that run the park are friendly and meet you at your rig to register you. The sites are gravel and level with 30 and 50 amp service, water and electricity. Visually not the best park but this is an overnight bargain if you have Passport America! No other discounts available. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a gravel parking lot with hookups. The couple that own it are very nice people. When we pulled in we saw the For Sale sign on the park sign. We said, "Oh, so you're selling the park" to the man that was there. He said he wasn't selling it, other people were. We thought that meant he was the manager, not the owner but later we learned that "other people" was his wife. She wants to buy a little house and be able to take their daughter to the park. She was as nice as can be but obviously doesn't want to be tied down the the park any more. We think her husband loves tinkering around the very small park and is happy to stay put. I guess we'll find out how it turned out the next time we pass through.

They have a good supply of petrified wood for sale on the property. $1/lb for lesser colors and $2/lb for prettier ones. We bought several pieces. Rock hounds will love this! We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Price reflects extra price for 50 amp power. Just a gravel lot, nothing to write home about, next to the freeway. Water is terrible, don't fill your tank up with it. Owners are very nice, but he was working on refurbishing a hauling trailer and spent lots of time banging and making excessive noise. No table, no fire ring, and very close to our neighbors.
