We've found it! An OASIS in the desert! Donorma RV Park is absolutely a gem. We are so lucky to have found this park. It is not like the sterile parks where they have 80' palm trees that offer no shade, and everyone is stacked up against the neighbors like sardines. The lots come in a variety of sizes to fit most RV's.

Donorma has trees that offer shade, grass, the green mowable variety, a smorgasbord of cacti to check out, humming birds, and bunch of bunnies running around. The management staff (family) are very friendly and helpful. Pretty much everyone was involved in getting us in our space and set up correctly.

We found Donorma while looking for a RV park in the area using Google Maps. All the trees we saw are what drew us to it. We also noticed that it had a pool. Sadly, the pool has now been filled in, and more gravel seems to be arriving daily.

What really made this park stand out from the other parks was the fact that it wasn't a sterile gravel lot, or slabs of concrete and asphalt like all the others we looked at. These RV parks do nothing but radiate heat late into the night which everyone tries to avoid any time of day when you're in the desert.

Anyone that has ever spent any part of the summer season in an RV in the desert looks forward to shade, and a pool, to get away from the endless sun, and heat. We hope the owners realize what a unique gem they have here.

Pro's - Friendly management, trees, green, lots of shade, quiet, location, very clean bathrooms, onsite propane, washers/dryers, pets allowed.

Con's - No pool now, more gravel than needed. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Motorhome.

Older park-no dog run. If you like the sound of trains in the middle of the night-multiple times, this is your place. Significant noises generated by military aircraft, the sirens from ambulances and the trains. Would not stay here again. Somewhat unprofessional. The park inside is quiet its all the exterior noises that are bothersome. No cable and if you want WiFi you have to purchase it independently. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Surprise has a lot of amenities but if you want to attend the Cactus spring team baseball games its quite the drive. Also downtown Phoenix is quite the distance as are some of the other attractions. Would stay in Apache Junction or Mesa if I came back to this area.

We stayed at Donorma RV Park for the Winter of 2016, November thru April. This park is such a great place to stay! We found the managers to be very kind and helpful. They work hard to keep up the park and are always doing landscaping or taking care of the grounds in one way or another. It is a family-managed park and so the park has a family feel to it. There are showers and bathrooms as well as 4 washers and dryers for the visiting rver's to use. There are chickens and rabbits and numerous birds if you like animals. There are pets allowed as well. It has a number of pull thru sites and accommodates rv's up to 40'. This is an oasis in the desert as the landscaping uses fruit and hardwood trees as well as many varieties of flowering plants and bushes. It is a very nice park with very nice people managing. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Surprise is full of accommodations, while the park rests on the edge of town. Convenient for shopping, including a Walmart and a Target, any store you can possibly need or want to visit. Local and State parks nearby. Easy access to freeways. Lots of interesting and fun places to explore near and far. Close to Phoenix and Spring training ballparks and golf courses.

We revisited Donorma recently and came to update our experience. Was very dismayed to see the previous review so I will comment on it a little as I update my review. Park is an older park but that makes the sites bigger than newer parks where we are bunched together. Staff was the same and it was nice to see the same faces. This is one of the homiest parks we have stayed in. It is not fancy. Not a resort (which costs considerably more) but the green grass, trees, plants, bunnies make this a quaint and comfortable park. There doesn't appear to be a majority of permanent residents - mostly snowbirds and baseball fans in March. The chickens are cute and do not venture into other people's yards. They even gave us a dozen eggs. They were delicious! We will definitely stay here again. Many of the plants have grown a lot since we were here. We appreciate the green and color which you don't get much of in AZ parks. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Motorhome.

Friendly staff BUT park is old and not maintained well. Water supply was buried in tall weeds and a bush. Odd narrow streets make entry and backing into sites difficult. Watch for low power lines! Parking is a mix of gravel and dirt. Concrete patios but no picnic tables. Very close to train tracks with train whistles at all hours (not good at 3am!). Jets from nearby AFB add to the noise. Seemed like the majority of sites were permanent residents with run down rigs. Chickens run loose so watch your step - poop everywhere including walk to office. Would not stay here again!! We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for two nights. This is an old park with mature trees. There are part full time, older trailers; part snowbirds with mostly motor homes and a few overnight accommodations. The office is messy with lots of stuff here and there. The park is the same with lots of stuff here and there but not much trash. The family that runs the place are very nice. Due to the high season we were happy to find a place that would take us at six o'clock at night. That and the price of other RV Parks in the area with all their amenities that we didn't need was the main reason we stayed here. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Price is way too high for a park of this poor quality. Has been neglected for a long time. OK stay for what we needed, but closer to the $20 a night range in amenities. Less than 100 yards from Burlington/Northern railway with plenty of trains each night and a crossing every 4 blocks plus very busy Hwy 60. Bring the ear plugs! We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Older park that present owners have been attempting to update. Site assigned gravel with concrete patio. Access road to office a little confusing. It's the third lane turnoff. About 1/3 of the sites are permanent residents. Wi-Fi had issues as my computer could not connect due to no valid certificate. Owner gave me his own private connection code and although weak it worked. Plenty of off the air TV channels. Laundry an outdoor affair next to washrooms. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is our 3rd visit to Donorma and we will come back again. The young managers have taken pride in improving the grounds and keeping everything neat and clean. A big improvement over our first visit. We enjoy the trees, the plantlife, grass and rabbits who fear nothing. The spaces are decent size with a concrete pad next to most sites. Not quite a resort, but a place where we are comfortable, safe and surrounded by nice people. We camped here this time for two months plus. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Motorhome.

I stayed here for 2 weeks while visiting relatives. This is an older campground but it is very well maintained. It is a combination of "transient" campers and permanent residents, but all of the sites seem to be neat and well maintained. Very friendly residents and staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and that you have an enjoyable stay. Excellent Direct TV satellite and Verizon wireless internet access. Even though the campground is on a main highway with an active railroad running along side of it, it was very quiet here with only an occasional loud train whistle. And the rabbits are still running around the campground at night. They're a riot! We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for an extended period of time last year. We appreciated the green grass and trees. There were many rabbits (but not too many) and birds. Both of which we don't find much of in Arizona. The management at the time was fairly new and the management this time was new. Both were very friendly and the new managers now seem to be working very diligently at improving the grounds, adding color and improving the ambiance for their visitors. All of the permanent residents seem to be very friendly, helpful and very positive about the improvements. The pool was not open but they seem to be working on it. We will definitely stay here again as what is most important to us is a clean, quiet and safe park. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Motorhome.

The new managers are the greatest. The short time they have been there, the park has improved greatly. The yearly people that are there are very friendly and helpful. It's nice to see green in AZ. I rate the park very friendly and a great place to stay. I will be back. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was our second stay here and will be our last. Under a new manager as previous one got busted for making meth and selling drugs. New manager is friendly and helpful. In the month we were here the bathrooms were never cleaned. Friendly campground, but general deterioration of campground doesn't warrant another visit. We camped at Donorma RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
