Overall Rating:

Expansive park with lots of room to maneuver. Some road noise and the occasional passing train (no horns, just a low hum). The excellent on-site manager, was very diligent in making sure we were satisfied with our stay, even though we were only 1 of 5 guests in the park at that time (it was a hot weekend). Most sites are terraced back-in with your neighbor (if any) behind you. There are 13 sites along the North wall (closer to I-8) that allow pull-throughs. We were able to park our 43' MH and towed vehicle without disconnecting. I did have to use our 50A extension cord since the pedestals all seem to be spaced towards the front of all the sites. No big deal. Young trees do not yet provide much of any shade. The frequent wind causes problems for awnings. Price reflects Passport America discount. We will definitely stay again when passing through. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like to drive offroad, this is a place for you. Plenty of room to park your ATV's next to your site. Direct access to desert trails right from the campground. There is also a site to wash your ATV's in the campground.

Overall Rating:

Seemed like a fairly new RV park. They have planted trees around most sites, but they are still small, so they won't provide much shade in the summer for now. It was very clean and level. Hookups worked well. Sites are basically double wide...plenty of room for parking. Wi-Fi from our site was weak, but we were kind of far from the office. Staff at check in was just the best. Would definitely stay again. Price reflects P.A. discount. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Stayed 2 nights in our 42' fifth wheel. Wide paved streets with gravel sites. Very level. They have "pull thru's" for overnighters, but it is against a block wall, I could not pull thru and had to back out, but very easy. On the other side of the block wall is 1/4 mile of desert to I-8 and railroad on far side of freeway, road noise was very noticeable but not horrible. Could hear train but no loud. Very wide spaces, the park is set up to have off road toys and park them on site and ride them out of the park. No speeding or loud off road vehicles, very well behaved. Price was a great value for the park, nice and away from the cramped Yuma feel. If you don't have toys I don't know if I would stay here for long term, but great for a few days or overnight. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Stayed for a month. rate was 230.00 plus 69.00 electric, wi-fi and 20 channel cable include, wi-fi was good most of the time, out site was in back row farthest from the clubhouse. laundry 1.50 to wash and dry, laundry room clean. large clubhouse, lots of activities going on, shuffleboard, horseshoes, bingo, socials, 2 dumpsters for garbage and recycling at each side of park. 2 dog walks, free R/O water from dispenser. mail room, and local adverts available. only drawback is the water very salty even with a filter. Tacna is very small, 2 restaurants and a gas station. Town of Wellton is 10 miles west, has a small grocery store, new Dollar General and a Family Dollar. Yuma 35 miles away for more shopping, some train noise, mostly the rumble rarely heard the whistle. We would stay here again. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

All sites are back in. The park was about half full and they parked campers with empty space between units. The hosts were great! My ATV lost all power backing in (alternator failed) They brought a vehicle to jump start and a battery charger. Sites are pretty level and the park is quiet, no interstate noise and some train noise (I have come to the conclusion all RV places have trains) The sewer holes seem to be placed in mounds at the sites. Made hose U shaped, high at the camper, low (even with supports) in the center up hill to opening. The camp is pet friendly and has a dog park. My site was close to the side road so I used the large open field to let my dog run. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yuma indoor market place is a great place to visit -all day to walk through it all. Yuma Territorial Prison is well worth the visit. The two restaurants in Tacna both had good food. The station and store has water and ice.

55+ parks, all sites back-ins, they appear to put short term in sites with concrete patios now. No picinic tables or fire rings. Wifi only works at rec hall. Interstate traffic and train noise not that noticeable. Wide streets and sites. Snowbird park but quiet and clean. ATT 4 bars. Stopped to see if this is a place we would want to stay for a month or more in future. Lots of rules. We wouldn't stay long term, they do not allow use of RV washer or dryer. Yuma about 30 miles not much close by. Gas station and diner. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Only stayed here for one night. The campground is far enough off the interstate that noise is negligible. Most sites are back-in with plenty of room.
It is a very large campgrould but was less then half full. Most of the campers were snow birds. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This campground has wide paved roads with gravel sites. The short term sites do not have a concrete patio, just the long term people do. Plenty of room between sites. Your vehicle is parked on side of your rv. Very quiet friendly place. You can hear the interstate and trains at night but that was of no issue to us. Very nice clubhouse with clean washers & dryers. A lot of people here with four wheelers for going into the dessert. They have wifi but only in the clubhouse. This is a 55 and plus park. We only stayed two nights but would definately stay here again. AT&T cell phone and verizon wifi worked good. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at and reviewed this park the last time we passed thru this area and said we'd stay again and we have. Not a lot of changes since our last stay that we noticed but we don't normally use many of the facilities available at the various parks so all I can do is base this review on what we saw this last stay and that was all very good. As before the hosts were friendly and helpful, our site was easy to back into and hookups were pretty much standard and in the right area to get to, etc. This is a park located about a half mile off of Interstate 8 about 40 or so miles east of Yuma and there is nothing out there but desert and cactus. But if you like a good night's sleep in a peaceful surrounding with the sky above ablaze with thousands of stars, then you will love this park. And at the rate they charge you cannot go wrong for a night's stay such at that. Clean, well maintained and with a nice clubhouse and facilities (we did check all this out of course even tho we didn't use them) we will most certainly continue to make this one of our overnight stops along the I-8 corridor when we travel that route. Oh, and it is easy access on and off the interstate and there are signs to follow, etc. It ain't fancy but it sure is nice.................. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't look for a Walmart or a Love's Truck Stop nearby because there aren't any. This place is out in the boonies but the small town of Dateland is just a short drive east and Yuma is about 40 miles west. There is a Chevron station a few miles west if you do need gas or diesel but like most all Chevron stations, both are way more expensive than other stations closer in to Yuma.............

Love this park! We would stay here all of the time if our work did not require us to be elsewhere. The management is great and the people there are friendly. Giant spaces and all of the peace and quiet that you could ever wish for. Yuma is only an hour away and what a beautiful drive through the hills. Fun times on four wheelers for sure!! We actually paid the monthly rate, which was only $50, plus electric, a special they offered March & April. Large spots with cement patios. No pool, darn, but well taken care of. We are only 40 miles from Yuma where the prices are a lot higher. You basically are in the middle of no-where, with lots of room to take long walks and pet friendly. We would stay again even for their normal price of $190 month plus electric. Friendly managers, nice clubhouse. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here on our way home. Found this park in the Good Sam Book and called to make an overnight reservation. It is quite desolate, and it is 'out there' on its own, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They are 'Harley Folk' so how bad can they be, right.....Ha! We could see forever from our assigned space. There were some desert folk with their off road vehicles and such, but the noise level was for the most part, unnoticeable. I think we heard a couple of train whistles during the night, but we slept so good due to the total peace and quiet we weren't bothered by them one bit. The owners are working on more and more improvements as they can, but as it is we will for sure return for another stay the next time we are in that area. If you are ever in the Tacna area and find yourself wanting a peaceful and restful place to throw out the anchor, this is definitely the one to go to. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is by far our most favorite RVPark. This is a very well managed park, sites are very big and the rate $190 per month is about the best available in the area. This is a great place if you have desert toys, but if not, there are other activities such as shuffleboard, horseshoes, crafts, bingo, card games, music jams and just recently added a desert golf course. We have stayed there two years in a row and have just signed up for a third year. The clubhouse and laundry facilities are large and kept very clean and the washrooms, only two stales in each are also very well maintained. There is noise from the trains and from time to time there is an smell coming from stockyards in Roll. This is a new facility and each year are adding new activities and constantly making additions to activities. There is also an exercise room and library. This is a great inexpensive place to spend a few days or months. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: February, 2012 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

Rate based on monthly rate of $190 plus elec at 15 cents per kwh. Includes satellite cable tv. This was the 2nd winter for this Park in a rural desert setting. Sites are very side and majority have a concrete patio pad. Power and water were good. No Wi-Fi, but modem service for internet and phone is available from a third party. Roads are packed aggregate and can be a little dusty when people do not respect the speed limit. Large club house with growing list of activities. Large laundry. If you like cycling there is a good network of rural paved roads with low traffic. Great opportunity for ATV's in adjacent desert. Smell from westerly located confined feeding cattle ranch can be a little hard to accept, but smell does not usually last all that long. Wi-Fi would be a bonus for the short term stay. Space designated for installation of a pool and spa. Will stay here again when next in area. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
