Overall Rating:

We were here last year and satisfied so we returned on our trip this year. Sad to report that things have slipped a bit. Still a friendly staff, decent rate and a quiet spot away from the bustle of Lake Havasu but still close by. The park is really showing it's age although the facilities were kept clean. With the exception of being checked for things like toilet paper & soap. Over a 2 day, period I had to take my own because the men's room was out, as was the soap the last day. And I found where another guest had also taken their own roll and left it as a courtesy for other guests. The WiFi was a joke and not worthy of even being called "serviceable". We will have to look for another park for future visits. Love the friendliness of the staff and residents but require just a bit more from the parks where we stay. We camped at Golden Shores RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

While it took several phone calls for directions, this site was definitely worth the effort. And it wasn't their fault that I couldn't find them. Actually only five miles north of I-40 and Arizona exit 1, it was pitch dark and my headlights were doing a good job lighting up our front bumper and not much else. A family-owned campground with mostly seasonal campers but a few overnight locations available. And if the campground lacked anything--which it really didn't--The owners more than made up for it. And now that I know how to find them, day or night, we definitely will stay here again. We camped at Golden Shores RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Approximately 20 miles north of Golden Shores on Old 66 is the legendary "living ghost town" of Oatman, Az., where you can see wild burros meandering around town, along with a myriad of touristy stuff. While we were only laying over for one night, we definitely plan to make time the next time to visit Oatman.

This is an older park that is showing its age. The facilities are barely average, but the people are very welcoming and nice. Everything is spotless too. There is a small clubhouse and a nice laundry (2 washers, 2 dryers). Their WiFi wasn't very good in our site, but Verizon gave me good data service. The price shown is the weekly discounted rate, $150 a week. We camped at Golden Shores RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We spent last winter here, and loved it so much we returned from South Dakota again for another winter. I don't know for sure what the daily rate is, we pay monthly $280 plus elect. The sites are gravel and very level, most have long patios of cement but we favor the only one out here without, instead we have RR ties and no neighbors to our front. Golden Shores is a great very peaceful and quiet little town, and the RV Park is the same. The managers are some of the greatest folks you will ever meet, as are the fellow campers. We enjoy the get-togethers for every occasion, Thanksgiving is the first to kick off the season, and we are looking forward to that tomorrow afternoon. Last year it seemed there was at least one feast every month and regular meetings at the club house for cards or other pursuits. Many of the folks who camp here end up purchasing homes here in Golden Shores as they are readily available for a decent price. We camped at Golden Shores RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Wow so many choices - Bullhead City - Laughlin NV - Lake Havasu City - Parker - Oatman - Kingman - Hoover Dam - Grand Canyon - Bryce Canyon and so much more to do in this area.

Walks in the desert are so peaceful and rockhounds would be in heaven for the small stones that seem to be everywhere out in the open expanse that lie North of the park. The small lake to the west contains some wonderful tasting Catfish, some were provided by a fellow camper last year, as I didn't bring any fishing gear along. Topock (Golden Shores) is just a few miles from Oatman, and within 30 miles of both Bullhead City, and Lake Havasu City (London Bridge!) and Kingman is just about 50 miles away. You are within driving distance to the Grand Canyon, and Hoover Dam as well as many other favorites such as Quartzite and Parker Az.

We wanted to avoid snow this winter, so we looked for a place that was warm and had lots of fishing. We found Route 66 Golden Shores RV Park. We were invited to a lovely Thanksgiving dinner and met so many fabulous people. The clubhouse is a perfect meeting place for cards, meals, crafts, and has a tv for football games. The hosts make the RV Park inviting and fun. We plan to stay for the winter to enjoy our new friends and beautiful desert living. We camped at Golden Shores RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park has new managers and some good improvements have been made over the past year. There is a laundry, restrooms, and showers that was put in the past several months. The views from the park of Goose Lake are still amazing, and the sticker problem has been addressed. The town of Topock is quaint and well worth a stop by to this park on your way to and from the warm climates of Arizona. New sites are currently being put in here, and the current sites are level with large concrete pads. There are a few full timers in this park, several who are there for the season, and then overnighters. We camped at Golden Shores RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Topock is the western-most AZ town on Route 66. This park has a nice view of Goose Lake (in the distance), a very sweet and accommodating "temp manager", and is very quiet, but that's about it. The turn in to the sites was very sharp and sandy, but the dirt sites are easy to back into. Patio slab was long. Sewer connection was on wrong side of site, so we didn't hook it up. Area filled with sticker plants, which made dog-walking difficult, and we had to pick them out of the soles of our shoes before entering the rig. Town has a marina, a general store, and a couple of gas stations and places to eat. Rate is P/A. We camped at Golden Shores RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
