We camped in a very small teardrop trailer. Camp staff very helpful about accommodating our group, putting me where I wanted to be, and letting us rearrange our dates. No help back-in. Many long-term snowbirds or permanent residents, most spaces reasonably well-kept. Did not feel unsafe or worried about my stuff, though I was aware people around me likely struggling financially. Bathrooms basic but clean and adequate in layout. Has a rec room. Grounds clean. Plenty of cholla (type of cactus) in the area outside the campground- watch your doggies. Gates locked after 9 pm, get a card if you're going to be out late. Many birds on the east side of the park where residents collaborate to feed them. Saw quite a few different species within a space of five mins. Wal-Mart with a good grocery just a few mins north on Houghton but otherwise you are a long way from town. Uber does serve the area however. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The park is marketed as a resort, but does not have the appearance of one. Nice people, but the park appearance is rather aged and may have previously been marketed for long term residents with a collection of mobile homes also found on site. Front desk was very nice and helped with a car battery issue we encountered during our visit. Parking spaces are not angled (straight in, or 90 degree) and require extra care to enter/exit and driveways are not particularly wide. Power and water was good with no issues encountered. I would return if I was in a smaller rig (possibly a 30 ft), but a 40+ ft is not the easiest fit at this park. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

The park is nice for smaller rigs, but larger units may want to find elsewhere. We also stored ours at this park for 2 weeks for $20.00.

I cannot believe this place even has the nerve to tack resort onto its title. I'm not sure if it is adventure bound resort or cactus county? Who knows both names are visible in the park. The place is borderline trailer park but not the nice kind. There are quite a few long termers with very cluttered unsightly spaces. The park is showing its age and the lack of upkeep does not help. Spaces are weedy with lots of debris from trees everywhere. The expensive 50 amp spaces seemed a lot cleaner though walking around the park. The walking trails are not safe to use due to cholla cactus everywhere outside the fence on the ground. The washers in the laundry room were gross. The WiFi works good though. Snowbird rates seem high for what you get. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed one night nice staff easy after office check-in. Looks like they have recently combined this park with another and ongoing improvements are going on. Snowbirds had left so there were full-time folks there, very friendly and helpful. Easy drive to service's and looked to have many large pull-thru sites. Watch out if you're walking you're dogs; the grounds are clear, but just past the property line many Choa cactus. Yes my dog Jimmy got a face full of cactus needles the locals were very helpful and gave us a map to local vet. Happy ending, would stay again. We were very pleased with this campground. It was far enough from freeway and railways to not have any noise at night. The park was very clean, well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The on-site facilities were clean and in excellent condition. We will stay here again. Nice park, secluded, and private. Gravel pull-thru with full hookups and adequate space, both in length and width. Picnic table at site. We were near the restrooms/showers/laundry room. Ladies' room clean with two toilet stalls and two shower stalls plus sink counter. A bit of a tight fit between toilet area and sinks and you must walk past this area to use the showers. Old, but clean. Husband said same about Men's area. Didn't use laundry facilities so can't comment. People in office friendly and helpful. Other campers friendly also. I wasn't able to use the park shower as they were doing some work and turned off the water, but when I peeked in I saw that it was clean, although old and obviously well used. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This place looks nicer on the website than it does in reality. The sites were fairly tight and the permanent residents were not well maintained. They had a dog park but there were thorns there as well as thorns that blew in from the desert on the road. They had a rule against "dog pens" but we saw several residents with dog pens (they seemed like some of the permanent ones). We could not get their Wi-Fi to work, nor our Verizon to work. This place is well outside of town but has trains that go by all hours of the night. We will not be back. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is an easy in/out campground with pleasant hostess. Fortunately we arrived before noon when the campground is unattended. However, we stayed here in October, which is the OFF-season for them. The (High season) $38.00 price is used as the base of their Passport rate of $19.00. Their off-season rate is $25.00 and they charged me $25.19 with my Passport discount. Huh? The Passport discount is not even allowed during high season, but they use the high season price for computing their Passport discount for the off-season, which is the only time they honor the discount. Essentially there is no Passport discount. Wi-Fii repeaters cover the grounds, but were a poor excuse for Internet service. The download speed was 0.08 mbps and the upload speed clocked in at 1.40 mbps. Pathetic! It was completely unusable at times. Their premier sites are intermingled with work campers and permanent residents in 35-year-old units. This is the only source of 50amp service. I chose one of their 30 amp, 47’ pull-through sites (?) and the entire car was in the street and there was no room to park it. We have a 40’ motor home. The pool is a ‘bobbing’ pool, which is too small to do anything else in. Probably the only accurate representation of the park was their sign warning; never leave your unit at night without a flashlight due to the possibility of rattlesnakes warming on the asphalt. Oh, you also get the pleasure of paying the $.50 per night RV surtax as they are within the Tucson boundary. Not much, but a definite irritant and not the campground’s fault. It was not the rate, which upset me, but the misrepresentation of the Passport discount as applied, because they took advantage of Passport America and me. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed this park. Though it is quite large, people were friendly. Great location, nice landscaping, clean restroom. Our site was a little noisy, but our smaller 5th wheel fit fine. Though not as much character as other parks we've stayed in, especially for our dog, we would recommend this park when visiting Tucson. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The office is only open from 9 till 12, so we did not see anyone to talk to. Left money in envelope. First site chosen had no electric service (wires dug up) so back to the office for another site. Pool was great. Laundry room looked OK, but we did not use. Site was fairly level and the roads were paved, so bike riding was good. Family RV parks in Tucson seem to be hard to find, so we would stay here again. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Great dog park area, Helpful and friendly staff. Fairly easy in and out, just go slow easy. Quiet area close to everything. For a great side trip go to the top of Mt. Lemmon for the view and the Pima Air and Space Museum for the history. Would stop here again. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy off/on I-10. Paved roads and level gravel sites. Good water pressure and voltage. Tight turns, narrow roads and sites hard to get into. Trees need trimming. Many seasonal and permanent guests. It is not on our return list. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

This is suppose to be a Passport America park, but when we checked in the price was $25 and so was the regular summer rate! When I questioned it, the clerk told me "Passport America is up to 50% off" and it is 50% off the high season rate". No where does passport say that! We felt totally ripped off and would never go back here. Lots of RV's being stored everywhere and a tiny pool. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $40.00

We stayed at Cactus Country (aka Adventure Bound) in Tucson for 2 weeks at the beginning of April. The location is way east of the main part of town and is nice if you want to get a desert feel. If you want the conveniences of home, it’s quite a drive, and I found traffic in and out of the city to be bad at times. The WiFi is only available in certain spots, and certainly not inside your RV in most places. We stayed on the Saquaro loop because friends of ours had dogs and that’s where the dog owners must stay. It would have been nice if the seasonals had picked up their doggie doo, but they’d send their kids to walk the dog and just leave the mess. They need to police this better. The garbage cans are a poor excuse for a true dumpster. They are nearly always full and it was tough to squeeze our larger trash bag into one: just put a couple of dumpsters on site rather than a dozen trash cans! I didn’t go to the pool because I don’t like soaking in other people’s juices, but our friends did. It was small but clean. You don’t really come to Tucson to be in the woods, but I found that Cactus Country had better foliage than most of the other ones in Tucson. You didn’t feel like someone just decided to use an old gravel parking lot to make some money. Kudos to the staff for making the park look nice, even with the number of seasonals on site. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

I normally stay at the fairgrounds but the fair was in its last weekend so I stayed at CCRV. This is a quiet park in a nice setting. I can only give it a 4 due to the rate of $42 based on a charge of $85 for two days and the "amenities". The park has too many seasonal and resident units that are run down. There are too many dog runs, swamp coolers and out buildings. The further to the back of the park you go, the more anything goes with some spots looking like a junk yard. Half of the park is off limits to pets. The wireless connection was weak to non-existent. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
