Three month stay this yr. camp sites are dirt & gravel with small concrete patios with no tables or shade. Upgraded sites have larger patios with concrete tables & benches & some trees. All sites are tight and close to each other. Limited extra parking. Gated Entrance check in is insufficient. We were there 3 days before office called to tell us we needed to go to clubhouse office to register. Office staff is young, indifferent, not helpful or friendly while mgr is trying to make improvements. Lots of activities & entertainment. About 35-40% are park model sites. Part of park is designated pet friendly while rest is non pet friendly. Monthly newsletter with activities available. Close to many stores & restaurants. Lg laundry room is clean & well equipped. Library with free computer usage, billiards pool, ballroom. Nice clean lg pool & hot tub. Area around wood shop & dumpsters looks messy & unkept. Storage should be behind fence or inside bldg.beside the Tucson Loop walking trail. We camped at Far Horizons RV Resort(formerly Far Horizons Tucson Village) (55+park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Needed a place for one night to visit a friend who lived in the area. We were told that they could accommodate us in a pull-through site. Upon arrival, those sites didn't exist. In fact the site we were given couldn't accommodate a 37' motorhome let alone the tow vehicle. A kind neighbor came out and questioned us as to why we were trying to get into that site. She had never seen a big rig fit in there. The office staff were young and not very savvy to the intricacies of parking a motorhome towing. We moved to another site after paying an upgrade fee to get a premium site. Still parked in dirt and gravel and still had to disconnect towed vehicle. This would be a good place for long term stays, but not for one night. We camped at Far Horizons RV Resort(formerly Far Horizons Tucson Village) (55+park) in a Motorhome.

We've been here the first week of a 4 month stay (rate is monthly). Visited this park each winter for a short stay over the past 3 years. Park has been sold to Can Am and last spring there were horrible reviews which made us question the idea of staying here this winter. But no worries....all is lovely. The main problem before was an old and antiquated electrical system. That has been fixed as well as other issues. Some things have changed with the new ownership, but the wintering folks are still the same. Great people, friendly and inclusive. The park is lovely (except for many dead trees and bushes!) and we look forward to the rest of the winter here in Tucson. The electrical service at this park is horrible ! The circuits are severely overloaded and are tripping breakers at a dangerous and alarming rate. As one of many Motor Home RV'ers with serious money invested in coaches and electrical equipment, I am as upset with this situation as one could be. We are all paying good money for a site and are facing electrical issues that are unsafe and dangerous. Management has been unable to provide any relief other than to say that repairs will be made this summer. I feel it would only be appropriate to advise incoming guests that there are electrical problems and that they should be relieved any commitment to the park for their reservation or stay should they decide not to remain. Manager did state that he would provide that info. Those of us that committed for a month or more are without any form of relief. I would have left immediately if I had known the situation. I currently run no a/c and use no electrical service until after dark to avoid voltage drops, outages, and equipment cycling. This is not what I expect from Cal-Am or any park operator. For those guests with pets, it is obviously a serious situation. RVs can heat up very quickly to dangerous levels and even a short run to the grocery store could prove to be a fatal mistake. We camped at Far Horizons RV Resort(formerly Far Horizons Tucson Village) (55+park) in a Motorhome.

Very clean, well kept park. No picnic table at standard sites. Location for town activities is very good. Sites are tight and the only view is of other RV's. Walk out back gate to bike/ walk path that goes for miles. We walked here daily. We camped at Far Horizons RV Resort(formerly Far Horizons Tucson Village) (55+park) in a Travel Trailer.

I forgot how much I paid - it was a monthly rate. From my research, in the Tucson area you have sole RV parks that are old and basic and Mobile Home parks with RV spaces. Far Horizons is the latter. It does have a lot of spaces. About 3 rows towards the entrance and others around the park. The people are friendly. The location is good. There are activities to partake in. It has a very nice pool and activity area. I can't think of a negative. The park was just sold to a large RV park group. People were very friendly, the place was kept clean for the most part. Lots of activities and close to shopping and restaurants. Nice walking and bike paths. WiFi ok, Cable TV also good. Now the reason for the 3 rating, while its true they will Squeeze your big rig in, it's not nearly big enough. I paid extra for a Premium site and was very disappointed. Sites are way too small. You have to park your vehicle next to your RV and you have to be very carful that the door doesn't hit the RV next to you. Pool is small, fills up quickly and only 3 showers total for the whole park. Very small workout room, a few machines and some dumbbells. If there are 4 people in the fitness center its too crowded. Also, the place is loud. Low flying jets, was ok at first but soon got old. The Fire department is very close and they are busy. All in all not a bad park but I won't be back, it's just not worth the money. This cg is NOT big rig friendly, unless you pick one of their premium sites. It is NOT a "pretty" park but just gravel and concrete/asphalt. There is no off-leash area for the dogs. We had a bad experience here (damage to our rig due to tiny site and the placement of electric pedestal). Would not return and not recommend! Absolutely beautiful RV resort 10 miles north of Interstate10. So NO hiway noise and NO railroad noise. The park feels private and secluded yet is just minutes away from anything you could want in terms of shopping and restaurants. Paved laneways. Premium site offers concrete slab for the RV and patio with lovely mosaic topped table and benches. A tree shades each site. Very good full hookup utilities with cable TV and very very good WiFi. The entire park is beautifully landscaped with Arizona greenery. Remainder of the site is small pea gravel. Sites are quite close to each other and back up to another coach, rv or park model. Everything is meticulously maintained and beautiful. Resort is located at the base of mountains and the air is so clear you actually feel as though you can reach out and touch the mountains. Beautiful long, fenced dog runs are available on two sides of the park. The outdoor pool is heated salt water as is the large spa. It is a beautiful pool area with plenty of tables and chairs both in the shade and in full sun. There is a small mini golf course and ping pong table. Plus a fully equipped workshop for silversmithing, stain glass and fused glass and a rock workshop. The activities director works hard to have something to do for everyone - all day long and in the evening. Pot luck dinners, movie night and much more. The staff and RVers were all warm and very friendly. We loved this park and cannot wait to go back. Very attractive, clean and well-managed park, largely occupied by seasonal residents. Laundry room large and spotlessly clean, all front-loader washers. They use a card rather than quarters so you might have $ left on your card when you leave, as I did. The CATV was good. They have TengoInternet WiFi, which I didn't use. There is an electronic entry gate for which you are issued a card. If you have a pet, it must be walked in the pet area, a separate fenced area which you access with a key. There is a fair amount of noise here, as it is in a high traffic area but it's a very nice park with plenty of amenities. Tips for other Campers:

There are numerous excellent restaurants and museums in Tucson. The De Grazia gallery and the San Xavier mission are both well worth a visit. Fry's grocery store is just around the corner. I boarded my dog at Weisman's Animal Clinic and highly recommend them.

Great showers and restrooms. Nice paved and level parking pads. Gated community with very active clubhouse and activities. Friendly staff. Overall this was a nice stay in a clean park. This was a 3 night stay and we still could have stayed longer. The location is in town right at Pantano and Broadway. We plan to return for another stay. We only stayed here for a couple nights, but wished we could stay a bit longer. Most of these places are permanent trailer homes, but there are a few temporary sights. There are lots of activities going on all the time and we were welcomed to join any we wanted. There is a very nice pool and hot tub area. And a masseuse on sight! All the homes are meticulously maintained. This location is also right on "The Loop" bike trail, but unfortunately they are still working on some of the segments nearby. It was also very, very quiet here at night. The campsite was on gravel, with a concrete parking area and patio. This is a 55+ campground but more accurately is really 70 to 99 age group and yes, there is a 99 year old resident! Very well organized with plenty of activities for the long term resident. Everything is kept immaculately clean and staff is all very helpful and pleasant. There are more park models than RV spaces so be sure to call ahead during the busy season. We stayed in a patio site which was nice compared to the basic site with no table. When the park is full expect to be in very close contact with your camp neighbours, the good side to that is everyone we met was very friendly. The heated pool was the warmest we've ever experienced. The location is close to shopping but expect traffic noise, especially sirens every day and throughout the night. The campground is gated overnight and we felt safe at all times. The rate was pretty steep for a short stay even after the Good Sam discount but it covered a lot of activities we didn't take advantage of. We camped at Far Horizons RV Resort(formerly Far Horizons Tucson Village) (55+park) in a Truck Camper.

Previous comments are correct. I would return to this campground if in the area again. Also, it's the first campground I've been to that you can use the free Wi-Fi at full speed without any problems. Try and find some another place like that! We camped at Far Horizons RV Resort(formerly Far Horizons Tucson Village) (55+park) in a Motorhome.
