Big gravel parking lot but with full hookups. The sites are narrow and back to back. We had trouble parking the pickup in front of the trailer since the site was narrow; there certainly wasn't room in front or back. However it is easy to get to and relatively inexpensive. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Outstanding Thai restaurant in Luckies, up e road some in the same shopping center as Fry's groceries store. Also make sure you visit the Saguaro National Park, 15 miles or so away. Outstanding!

Gravel sites; some with full hookups and 50 amp, some with 30 amp, and some dry camping. We were there for a rally, so I'm not sure of the price. Roads are large - ample for big rigs. Sites are good size but right next to each other as they were trying to fit as many rigs as possible for this rally. Most were back-in sites but some could be used as pull-thru's. Recommend bringing bikes as the fair grounds are large. Quiet as along as NASCAR practice is not going on! We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

What a lovely surprise! Last year we stayed in an established RV Park - expensive, hard spot to get into. I was dreading trying to find an overnight spot in the Tucson area, but ran across this park going through this and a few other sites. Be warned they do not take reservations, but unless you are there during a particular big weekend, this shouldn't be a problem in getting a 50-amp site, as they recently added about 100 sites and are in the process of adding more. For longer term stays, there are some sites with tree canopies, but we were in the open. Okay, it's February, so it didn't matter, but in August, ask to be under a tree if you can. You are southeast of the city and in a gorgeous setting with the mountains nearby. Yes, the coyotes do an opera every night, which we enjoyed, but it may be a bit disconcerting as they sound pretty close. All in all, a great place to stay and we'll be back. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Fairgrounds have lots of events throughout the year, so check their website. It's a mile square park, worth a drive around to check it out. Hint - plenty of car and drag racing!

Great value so we stayed 2 weeks and came back for another night after boondocking at casinos. A little loud when drag racing taking place and other events at the fairgrounds. We went to Cantina for eats and karaoke on Friday... we would come back weekly rate $125 usd. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

This place is very similar to a lot of fairgrounds where we have camped. Basic camping at a value price. It is just a big open area with full hookups in rows. Sites were level with decent room in between. There are clean restrooms and a small (3 washers, 4 dryers) laundry room. There are supposedly showers somewhere, but we used our own and didn't go hunt them down so can't comment. The pros were easy access to I-10 and a super bargain especially at the weekly rate of $125 for FHU. It's quite a ways outside of downtown Tucson, but there is all sorts of shopping (including a Walmart and Frys) just up the road a mile or so. The only real con was the wi-fi was pretty much worthless. Verizon data was strong enough to get 'er done though. The other thing I really liked was the big dog parks. There is one for the big guys and one for the little fellas and they are connected so you can go from one to the other which my pup enjoyed doing especially since there wasn't another dog there the whole week we were here. There's also several patches of thick grass which is pretty rare to find in this desert area. Very dog friendly park. We would absolutely come back. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Truck Camper.

This is basically just a sand parking lot with full hookups. No cable tv. No picnic table. The camp hosts were very pleasant. Fairly new dog park with a large dog and a small dog side. Dumpsters were never overflowing. This was a good place to stay to visit the area in all directions. Now if you dont like any noise this just might not be the place for you. Speedway located in really close proximity. Air Force flies over frequently but I was not bothered by either of these things. Laundry is minimal...3 washers and 4 dryers but they were all working while I was there. $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry. I enjoyed my stay there. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Rate is daily, there is no tax. The fairgrounds park is seasonal but works well for winter visitors. We liked that it is a quiet country setting, yet easy access to I-10. There is a nice off leash dog area and lots of room for walks. Sites are level on gravel or grassy, dirt. We chose a pull through and had plenty of room for the motorhome and car. WiFi worked. There is so much to see and do in this beautiful area we stayed an extra 3 days and hope to return. We would stay at Pima Co Fairgrounds again. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The scenic byway trip up to Mt Lemmon and the little town of Summerhaven is worthwhile. Many pull outs for photos and hiking trails. Interesting "hoodoos". Be sure to stop at the Cookie Cabin!

Spacious level sites on pavement or gravel. Some full hookups with 50 amp and some with 30. Good water pressure, poor wifi, good local television, spotty phone and data reception, easy access off I-10, quiet, dark and coyote singing. Not available if fairgrounds are being used for events. Dump station is new, but turn around to leave grounds is tight. Would stay again for an out in the country quiet evening. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for Escapade. Due to Escapade, traffic had us take a different exit than the GPS would have recommended to avoid short off-ramp. Escapade parking staff was amazing. Had a 50 amp full hookup site back-in site. Fairly close to each other but we had a row of bushes behind us which was nice. The sewer hookup was elevated but doable. Had good line of sight for our roof mounted satellite dish but only because it was toward the front of the fifth wheel. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent a couple of nights here in and was treated very well. Although there are many kinds of sites, they put us on a level blacktop site with 50 amp and had plenty of space to park toad. They do have WiFi here and it is very good. Being close to I-10 is a plus. I used the laundry and it was clean and nice; altho, only 3 washers/4 dryers. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Very friendly individual at check-in. Friendly people all around. Several different areas to park RV. Some in gravel parking lots, some near asphalt. Stayed a week for $100.00. People have to vacate the site when a horse show or an event happens at the fairgrounds. Speedway and drag strip close by and can hear the noise when they are racing or practicing. Pros about this RV park are that it is convenient to I-10, level pull thru sites, big rig friendly and is reasonably priced. That said, it was not picturesque except the beautiful sunset. Sites and roads are gravel/sand/dirt. Sites are close to each other. We were taken to our site and the RV in the next site was using our side by side electric box. We tried plugging into their electric box and it didn't work,so had to move to another site. I'm not sure how well the park is maintained. It is not a place to spend much time, but OK for a quick overnight stay. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

We were heading to a county campground west of Tucson and stayed here for the night. This is simply a big dusty parking lot. With so much space it's hard to believe that they would stick everyone inches apart. Probably great if you are there for an event but as far as camping goes it is very claustrophobic. The lady in the rv office was very nice and someone escorted us to our site. They are very concerned that you park within some posts they have set up so that they can pack in another several hundred rv's The surrounding areas has everything motorized you can imagine. They have oval race car tracks, drag strips, go-cart race tracks, remote controlled air plane areas, and several shooting ranges. Fortunately for us we didn't have any problem with noise but we were there mid-week. They advertise free wifi but you have to go to the office to get it. When I called to see what the password was they said you "probably" can't get it from the campsite. Bottom line is it's ok for an overnight stopover but I wouldn't spend much time here. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

I realize you shouldn't expect much from a county fairgrounds, but I believe this one is worse than most. Giving it a "2" is stretching it. It's just a big ugly dirt/gravel field with old dilapidated hookups. The list of complaints is long, beginning with the previous tenants of my site who didn't pick up after their dog. The WiFi didn't work at all. I was warned at check-in that it "might" not. Well, that's stating the obvious. There are showers in the horse barn, but I think washing horses is about the only thing they're good for. They're absolutely filthy, heavily mildewed, and believe it or not there is gang graffiti painted on the walls and light fixtures. Be prepared for drag racing next door on weekends (all day long), with people practicing at all hours. If you happen to be here during a dog show, you can expect non-stop barking all day long. In other words, it can be very noisy. In fairness, though, these events are the things the fairgrounds exists for ... it's not for the RV park. Still, you should be forewarned about what to expect here. The park has good access to I-10 on the far southeast side of Tucson, about a 20-30 minute drive to downtown. There are no restaurants or shopping nearby. We camped at Pima County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.
