This was one of the best RV parks we have stayed in. It can truly be classified a resort. Landscaping is attractive. Hosts are very friendly. It is well run and well kept. We used the on site restaurant and enjoyed it. Occupancy was high since the snowbirds have started to arrive for the winter. We just used it for an overnight stay while travelling through Tucson, but plan to return for an extended stay to check out the area. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

One division of Saguaro National Park is nearby. We did a late afternoon drive through. The views of the mountains and large cacti are magnificent.

One of the nicest KOA's we've seen. Clean, attractive, paved roads and wide level sites. Just off I-10. Very well manicured with fruit trees at each site. Nice general store, restaurant on the property with a large clean pool and spa. Mix of snowbird/long term residents and travelers. Close to numerous RV centers and other Tucson shopping. Possible downside for some is proximity to Air Force Base with fighter jets roaring overhead occasionally. For us, it was the sound of freedom. Would definitely stay here again and would consider making it a longer stay destination to explore the area. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is a large RV park with many options for the type of site. We like the deluxe sites with patio, grass, & tree. There are shrubs on either side & in the back of the patio which gives some privacy. Sites are roomy with plenty of space for slide-outs. There is extra parking at the site for your tow vehicle or toad. Staff is friendly and helpful & they pick up your garbage. It is very dog friendly. There is some noise from a nearby train & the airport but it was not disturbing. The access roads in the park are wide enough for two vehicles so very easy to maneuver. There is a BBQ restaurant in the park that will deliver to your site. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This park sets a high standard for all parks, especially the KOA brand. It is one of the nicest KOA's I have ever seen. The roads and sites are all concrete, very wide and big-rig friendly. Each site has an adjacent place for a car, even though the site are long enough to accomodate the car behind the rig. They have covered sites available that use solar panels to provide cover and generate energy. What a great concept! There are two pools and two hot tubs. Both are very nice and one has a playground beside the pool area. The facilities are pristine and the grounds are very clean. Curbside trash pickup is a plus. We arrived after hours and were very happy to be greeted at the gated entrance by 24-hour security. The location is really nice. It is close to lots of restaurants and shopping options and is right off the freeway, but we did not hear any road noise. It is also close to the airport, but we only heard the sound of planes mid-day, never in the late evenings. They are right next to an RV sales and repair service, which is very handy if you need something special for your RV. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.

This was our second visit. We were there longer than we had planned, staying for over two months in the summer. We were under the solar covered section which helped with the heat. This also provided protection from the sun and monsoon season hail. Wide interior roads. Nice landscaping, including fruit trees on many sites. Some wasps showed up at times. Most of the time we were there the pool water was too warm and one time the chlorine must have just been added, without any type of warning, because it was too harsh to stay in the water. There were recycle tubs available for individual sites which we took advantage of. While we were there they were upgrading many of the patio sites for the winter season. We used the wifi (Tengonet) to supplement our hotspots but it was limited. Overall, this is a very nice campground. We would stay again. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The sites under the solar panels are shady and delightful, well worth the extra fee. All other RV sites are out in the open in huge, parking lot like expanses. The people are quite pleasant. Trash pickup is done conveniently from in front of the site. Recycle bins are provided so one can segregate and put out separately one's recyclables. There are two tiny dog parks but one huge grassy dog park, where even the most athletic and large dog could run and play fetch happily. WiFi is contracted out to a third party provider, and the original connecting is difficult. The instructions provided by the office are inadequate and incomplete. And one must use a different code and a different e-mail address for every device with which one wants to access the Internet. Very awkward. However, once the connection was set up, the reliability and speed was some of the best of what I've experienced at RV camps. There was a very loud party a few sites down from us well after 10:00 p.m. quiet time. I went and spoke to them, and they quieted down some. When I walked the dog at midnight, I mentioned to the gate guard that the party was still going on. I was told the guard would pursue it, but as far as I could tell that did not happen. One should be aware that the whole park is huge. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Saguaro Museum, near the western part of the Saguaro National Park, is well worth a visit, and one can easily spend a day there. The National Park itself is also worth visiting.

This place defines RESORT. It has multiple pools and multiple dog walks, including ones tucked into corners that aren't even on the park map. Dog wash, sites with private off-leash, fenced w/shaded dog park. BBQ restaurant onsite with authentic Texas BBQ. WIDE sites, most with a fruit tree (yes, the lemons were GOOD). Camp store, etc., etc. If they added a Beauty/Barber shop, doctor/dentist office, you'd never have to leave. But you SHOULD leave to go see all the wonderful things to see in the Tucson area! Mission San Xavier del Bac. There's a Flea Market close by with great local artisan shops. Check the Food Network "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" site for amazing food stops. This would be a great place to winter over!

The price was higher than we prefer but the campground was nice. It was quite large campground with sites that were long enough and wide enough. There seemed to be many seasonal campers. We wondered about safety of the location since the security gates were locked at 6:30 p.m. Amenities included two swimming pools, a fitness room, a mail room, and restaurant among other things. Sites included trees, some of which were grapefruit and lemon. One day they shut off the water for maintenance and I wouldn't have known if I hadn't seen the notice on the front desk. Positives: High quality facilities; gated security; trash pickup; fruit trees. Negatives: Located in a rundown and litter-strewn neighborhood; very noisy (Air Force base with frequent jet/helicopter flyovers, Tucson airport flight path nearby, railway noise in the middle of the night, frequent police/fire sirens); high voltage transmission line along property; expensive to stay; expensive laundry; some staff members not helpful. Facility includes two tall solar panel structures with camping underneath. Like camping in an elegant parking garage in the middle of a slum. We will not return. Most of the other reviewers have detailed all the good things this park has to offer! It is well kept, has many amenities, a very friendly and knowledgable staff and it has a nice BBQ restaurant and cantina on site. We were totally surprised at how reasonable and great the food and service were. Being able to pick fresh citrus off the trees at the sites was also a nice bonus! We would definitely stay there again, if in the area. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 1 month. Had to give a $50 electric deposit. Read your meter! We are full (younger) timers. Would have liked more interesting and organized activities. I made an activity request but no one followed up. This is more of a transient park with people using the repair facility or folks working the gem, fossil, mineral shows. Try not to stay in sites near the Benson Hwy wall-lots of traffic noise. It would be nice if people getting service at Lazy Days would take their sewage hoses with them-or at least cover the ends-it's very inconsiderate to leave them lying out. KOA campgrounds are usually not my favorite. Most are overpriced and underdeliver. This one is a bit overpriced, but it is by far the cleanest, best laid out, and most dog-friendly KOA we have stayed in! The sites with the solar covers are a nice touch if 1) it's hot out and 2) you can get one! A couple of sites had their own small private off-leash area. Fruit trees were full and free. We had delicious grapefruit in ours. Yes, you can hear and see the jets from both the AFB and airport, but that's a perk for us! Faint train horns at night - also OK with us. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.
