We were planning to visit Grand Canyon and this place is really close. We were thrilled to find something this close at a reasonable price... until we showed up. This place was just a dirt parking lot with some water and electric hook-ups. We were directed to the pull-thru sites and were told that the electricity in site G wasn't working. We chose the site next to it so we could let the kids play out front without worrying about someone pulling into that site. Shortly after we got set up, someone arrived to work on the electricity in site G. They pulled their pickup truck onto our site, just outside our front door and under our awning. One of them sat inside the truck smoking a cigarette, so we had to close our door and windows. While they were out there, and since we had to close the door and windows, we turned on our A/C, and popped the breaker. I reset it and tried again with the same result. The only things running were the A/C and refrigerator. This had never been a problem in a 30 amp site. I went outside and explained to the guy outside that I was unable to run my A/C and asked if maybe they were having general trouble with the electricity. He seemed insulted and said the electricity was good and that it must be my RV. I responded that we had used it several times (we are full-timers) without problems. He insisted that it was my problem and not his. He even offered to go grab his testing equipment to see how many amps I was drawing. I agreed, and he never returned. The gift shop was in poor repair. A lot of the items, including food items, appeared to have been wet previously, maybe from a roof leak. The whole place was just run-down and in desperate need of updating. There is what they call a theme park. They charge $5 per person. A quick peek over the gate led us to believe it was in the same state of disrepair as the rest of the place, so we didn't waste our money. Overall, its a great location, but not so great park. We camped at The Flintstones Bedrock City Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The one positive thing about this place is it's proximity to Grand Canyon National Park. Also, there is a gas station across the street with some cool things for sale and a few nice classic cars on display outside.

An older park, and definitely 'long in the tooth.' Could use some serious updating, but the 'kitsch' aspect was fun - having grown up with the Flintstones cartoons as kids. Plenty of room and good places to walk the dogs, but not the most scenic of land parcels. No shops or markets nearby other than 7-11 style curb market, so bring everything you need with you. Folks were very friendly, however, and we slept well. We camped at The Flintstones Bedrock City Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very inexpensive, and away from the hustle closer to the Grand Canyon. Recommend leaving early to visit the South Rim; parking and traffic was great at 8am, but was getting very, very crowded when we left a few hours later.

This campground could use some sprucing up. The buildings, signage, etc. really look worn, but it isn't anything that a coat of paint wouldn't fix. The campground is for sale, so I imagine the owners just don't want to put any more money into the place. That's too bad because the rates are excellent and it's not far from the south rim of the Grand Canyon, so it's a good place to camp while visiting the park. We got good cell phone (AT&T) and wireless coverage (Verizon) while there. Also, the people in the office and in the restaurant were very friendly. You also get a 10% discount in the restaurant if you're staying in the campground. We'd stay here again when passing through the area. This park is at the junction of Route 64 and 180, about 25 miles south of the Grand Canyon Visitors Center, much closer than Williams. The price makes it a good value for the area. The staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't stay here but stopped on my way to the Grand Canyon for information. If in the area again I would stay at this campground. There is a Flintstone theme park, gift shop, restaurant, showers, grocery and laundry. Sites appeared to be spacious, on grass and fairly level.
