We really enjoyed our stay here. It's quiet and has beautiful views both day and night. We loved to ride our mountain bikes on the trails through the saguaro, including the competition tracks. The sites are spread out. It is a bit of a long, slow drive from the campground to the edge of town, but that's what makes it quiet, right? We had an extremely sketchy Verizon data signal, even with our cradle booster. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fantastic campground, with very large sites. Tired of being squished next to your neighbors? Then camp here! There are a few drawbacks: No sewer hookups (dump station), and only one shower in bath house. But this is a minor "complaint" as the sites are very clean, quiet, incredible views, and extremely spacious. Yes, they do have a locked gate at night, and shopping/groceries are far away (2-30) minutes, but this park is well worth a stay in Winter & Spring. Excellent cell reception and plenty of over the air TV channels as well. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for a few days while visiting friends. It is a lovely setting and easy back in. Nice area around the fire pit. We had 2 really big complaints: 1) the is only one shower(m&f) for all of the campground. There is no sewer hook-up so if you are there for more than a couple of days, it's a hardship. Plus the push bottom shower only stayed for abou 30secs. 2) There is a gate for after hours which is nice however it is an awful set-up. It's a combination lock with dial. There is no light on it & your auto lights don't help. Plus it right next to a cattle grate making walking scary. They need to have a lift arm gate. I can't say the camp hosts were very friendly--no one was. But the views are amazing and the stars are amazing at night plus great sunrises. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We returned to White Tank this year because we enjoyed our trip last year. The campground is fairly quiet and is well situated for hikes of varying skill levels. There aren't many sites but the park gets quite busy with locals for day use. Lovely scenery in campground and throughout the park. Only one shower but I never had to wait. You must press the button every minute or so to keep the water flowing but there was good pressure and it was hot. We hadn't planned on it, but we stumbled upon a Lance Rally (and we do have a Lance Camper.) There were good facilities for a Rally (large dry camp area, picnic shelters, huge fire ring) but the dry camp area was a bit far from the hookup sites, requiring some campers to drive over for the events. Those in charge of the Rally said the hosts were gracious and friendly. We will return! We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at White Tank Regional Park for a week. There are beautiful mountains all around, and great trails for riding and running/hiking. The view at night of the city in the distance was lovely. It was quiet here, until the weekend when there was a mountain bike event (but those kids were all really well behaved and friendly.) We visited the library and shop. The dogs enjoyed it as well. We had fair to good connectivity on AT&T, fair only for Verizon. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Motorhome.

We were able to park in the overflow lot for a much lower cost. However, this lot is only available if all the other spots are taken. The "camping" is in the open gravel parking lot for the mountain bike area at the very end of the road in the park. If you come without water, be aware the dump station does not have potable water. The potable water spigot is at the end of the paved road. There is a loop there with a picnic table and a water spigot. We had two campers who decided they needed to run their generators in the middle of the night. Perhaps someone was in an iron lung and had an emergency..... And the port-a-pottie in this parking lot has not been cleaned in years. But - beautiful drive through the park and lots of nice hiking. Very busy this time of year. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Since they added electric, we have enjoyed this Maricopa county regional park. It's way out on the west side of the Phoenix metro area. There are plenty of trails in this desert setting. Lights from the Phoenix area are spectacular to see. Loop is paved. Sites are gravel. Luke AFB is nearby so you do get occasional jet noise. The shower has a push button for water that gives you a few seconds. Keep pushing as needed. Water was hot. Site 31 was level and had a lot of space and wilderness between the patio and next site over (29). The next site (33) over on the hookup side was visually close. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Motorhome.

This is an absolutely beautiful setting. After entering the park there is about a 2 mile drive to get to the campsite. What a beautiful place to stay in the winter. Although we prefer campgrounds with sewer hook ups, this is worth not having them. We got over 100 over the air TV channels. We will definitely be back. This is a beautifully maintained park with huge spaces. We were here on a Monday in the fall and it was quite empty. It is super quiet here. This is one of the prettiest campsites we've been too, and we've been on the road for 3 months. Do note that the actual campground is quite a ways (miles) from the entrance to the park. Just keep going period and going. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a regional park campground with great desert mountain hiking trails and nearby horseback riding. Truly a camping place, and no seasonal RVers. Huge campsites with picnic tables and fire rings in a nicely cleared personal area. (Rattlesnakes and scorpions seem to stay beyond the rock rimmed campsites. We avoided walking paths to the bath house after dark as rattlers like to wrap themselves around the warm rocks that line the paths.) Amazing views of the White Tank Mountains and overlooking the Valley of the Sun. Easy to get to stores, shops and boutiques in Surprise. Easy access to Goodyear for Spring training games. Sites with sewers may be available if Host sites are not taken, but you'll have to ask, and they add $10 per night. Showers had plenty of space and privacy and were very clean. Campsite water pressure was low but adequate (especially since we showered at the bath house and did not use our washer). Easy in/out at dump station. No Wifi or cable TV, but AT&T cell signal was adequate. Dozens of local antenna channels rcvd from Phoenix, and no problem with satellitte reception on our DISH. No trouble maneuvering or backing in our 40' fifth wheel. Originally we stayed for ten days and returned a few weeks later for another five days. Loved every minute in this quiet, desert retreat. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a county park that is very quiet and secluded. It is small and reservations are recommended. There is one shower in the men's and women's restroom, they are very clean as are the sites, they are well maintained. This is a great park for hiking and exploring the desert, with lots of hiking and off road biking. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was our second stay at the park and they now have the community dump station completed. Our site (32) was fairly flat but some looked like you would need to work the levelers. The Reservation site does have level ratings so take a peak there. Power steady & water well within pressure recommendations for RVs per our monitoring equipment. Paved roads throughout but rolling and one steep but short hill on the way in. Mountain bike and hiking heaven! One of the few places where we saw birds almost immediately after putting our feeders out. It was some sort of public appreciation day and there were all sorts of wildlife and rescue demos going on. 2 nice playgrounds (away form the motor home area) for the visiting grand-kids to play in. Public library just at the entrance gate and, if you're hungry, a swell hot dog cart guy usually hangs out in the parking lot there. Will definitely be back! We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Motorhome.

We love this park and have been coming here for about 7 different years. The recent addition of power, water and a dump station have made it more popular so now reservations are nearly a must. Not all sites are very level or easy to get into so pay attention to the info on the Maricopa county reservation site. Cell phone service is a little sketchy which is odd given it's location. It is a ways out of town so it is quiet, but it's a ways to stores or laundromats. We camped at White Tank Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.
