This is a park with mostly snow birds and park models with full hook ups. There are just a few short term RV spots at the East end of the park with water and electricity only. What Wi-Fi they have is very weak or spotty. There are pea gravel roads that are level and dusty in the short term area. Then only TV is with a dish. No radio that we could find either. The people are very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms, showers and laundry rooms are very nice and clean. We camped at Arrowhead RV Park (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.Undo

This is a long-term snowbird park, not an overnight stop. For $28 (cash only) you get a spot in a gravel parking lot on the periphery of the park with water and electric only - no sewer hookup, table, trees; just dust and train noise. Our bad, we should have done more research; don't make our mistake, avoid this park if traveling, there are better, less expensive parks around. We'll avoid this park in the future. This is a 55 plus park consisting of snowbirds who have been coming here for years. It is getting to be predominately park models which the new owners are encouraging, but overall, it offers many activities and if you make an effort to become involved, you will enjoy it. The Wi-Fi system is free and even free, it's not worth it: terrible! The trains coming through town can't be ignored at first, but eventually, you don't hear them. The smell of the livestock feed two miles away, however, is a different matter. When the wind is blowing a certain way: get a clothes pin for your nose! The spaces are ample; wider than some other parks we've been to. There's not much in the town of Wellton in the way of shopping, but Yuma is only 20 miles or so away. The town library is surprisingly great! State of the art for such a small town and also has computers available. For the price, this is a good park. We were here in their down season. The resort was all gravel with a cement pad and no trees. Very nice clubhouse with exercise room. The pool was small but well kept. I think this was more of an adult park. There were many mobile homes and permanent trailers and looks like in has a lot of snow birds in the winter. Everything was well kept and very clean. I didn't know quite how to rate this. It certainly isn't a place I would return, but not because it was disgusting. There are just ways around staying here. See, it isn't really a RV resort by any means. What is is is a place to stay if you want to take a ride down the Illinois river and that isn't a bad thing. The river trip itself is quite pleasant. The campground is a plot of land with full hook ups. There are no concrete slabs, just fairly level, though overgrown grass. Not so bad. We saw some big motor homes in there, but how they did it we don't know. Pretty tight squeeze. No trees to bother you or shade you. Bad things; the NOISE!!! Man, people are noisy critters! In addition there was road noise, four wheeler noise (live ins), teenager music noise. Just a lot of noise! My daughter LOVES to shower at campgrounds and she went in once and never went back. On a plus side, there are many "RV resorts" in this area, but some of them don't even offer water hook ups and looked at me like I was an alien when I asked. The whole area is an OK stop if you are going through and want to float the river. Not a destination area in my opinion. We camped at Arrowhead RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Located approximately 30 miles east of Yuma, this park offers all the features of some of the bigger parks in the area without the big park atmosphere. The facilities are always kept immaculate. The owners and hosts, are always available to provide any assistance that may be required. We camped at Arrowhead RV Park (55+ park) in a camper.Undo
