Recently refurbished KOA that was really nice with all new utilities and equipment. One of the nicest KOA's I have stayed. Gravel site was very level and hookups easy reach. Recommend for overnight unless you have a reason to stay in Wilcox. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

With 17 years of recreational RVing, I will say this is one of the nicest RV parks we have stayed in. It's under new ownership, so any reviews over a year old are irrelevant, as the park has been entirely re-done. The park renovation indicates that it was designed by someone who has done RVing. Our spot was large enough that another unit could have shared it with us. The park has all new gravel throughout. While there, several monsoon rain storms passed through and, even with two large dogs and an oblivious husband, the lady of the house found nothing tracked into our rig. All of the facilities are clean and spacious. The staff could not be more accommodating or friendly. One noteworthy feature to us was the dog park; clean, large enough and well thought out. There were some features in the doggy park that are not normally seen: agility (sort of) devices. See attached photo. Cable TV (from satellite) had good, strong signal; The wifi system was engineered into the renovation, with it's own dedicated towers, rather than slapping antennas onto the nearest building. Shade trees are on every other space and have been pruned to allow scratch-free parking. Proximity to the highway was vastly overshadowed by all the "pluses" of this park. And, there is so much to see in the area that we will now make this a destination park, not just a stopover. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a great campground for an overnight stop. It is new and has everything you need...dog park, small kid playground, LEVEL site and long enough we did not have to unhook our Jeep. We booked online and the staff called to give us late check in instructions. We left early the next day and the campground was almost empty. This would be a great location for snowbirds. Some of the sites had nice patio furniture, swing and Weber grill. Ours had a nice picnic table. I would stay here again. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Motorhome.

This is one of the most spacious KOA's that I have stayed at in the Western US. We had a premium site and it was spotless. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is next to Interstate 10 and there is some traffic noise. However, the Interstate is not too busy so the noise is not a problem since you are either using AC or the heater. This would be a great place to home base to see the surrounding sites. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

There appears to have been lots of upgrades lately. Sites were gravel and level and the services at each campsite looked newly refurbished. There were several WiFi antenna poles around the park and video streaming worked well. The restrooms were clean and it looked like they had a pool staked out to be installed. The camp store was one of the better ones we've run across with a nice RV section and hand dipped ice cream. Our site was near the front and thus near the interstate -- as in very near. The highway noise bothered me at night but didn't impact my wife at all. There are some interesting sites related to the history of the southwest within an hour so, if you like hiking and history, you can find things to do here and this campground would make a nice base. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Motorhome.

Very nice park being redeveloped. Roads are wide and easy to navigate. Managers lead you to your site. Nice store with basic supplies. The only negative is that they are located next to the freeway and there is traffic noise 24 hours a day. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here before and new owners are doing a great job. They made lots of great improvements. Restrooms/Showers are all new, great decor and very clean. Excellent WiFI and Cable TV. New sewer connections and water. Sites are all level and spacious. Great dog park area with all new gravel. We stayed in a deluxe site that had a patio table, bench swing, and a bbq. They plan on adding a pool, restaurant, and more RV sites with a stable. Yes it is off of the Interstate, noise wasn't a problem, we just turned on a fan at night and you couldn't hear the trucks. Staff is very friendly and We will stay here again. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Like others, we have stayed here before it became a KOA. The changes are dramatic and extensive. They have essentially rebuilt the entire infrastructure of the park, starting with their new office building all they way through the new gravel surface and all the electrical/water/sewer installation. The park is very easy to access from the interstate but far enough off that the road noise was hardly noticeable. The sites are huge and are easy to access with no tight corners to navigate. Even though we did not use the restrooms and showers, the fact they are part of their brand new office building speaks well of them. My only reason for not rating a 10 is the typical southern Arizona all gravel environment, not a thing they can do much about.. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here prior to it being a KOA. Things are changing the new owners are adding new buildings and a new office. The park is all gravel the sites are easy to get into and have some room between the sites. All the services worked well, had good WiFi. The one item that was poor was the dryers did not dry very well. The road noise form I-10 did not bother us at all. The crew was nice and friendly and they had Blue Bell Ice cream in the office. We used this as a base to visit the area. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Chiricahua mountians south of Wilcox is worth the trip. Big Tex resteraunt is a great eating place in town. If you like Pinto beans we found Bonita Beans a little south west of town to be a good placeto buy beans.

Thank you so much for staying with us and for the nice comments. We are working very hard to remedy the dryer issue. Cochise county offers a variety of beautiful places to see, Wineries to visit, historic sites and much more. Come back to see us soon.

This one was hard for me to rate, because they are trying. I'll give them that. The WiFi was really good and we appreciate that. The dryers did not dry - I spent $35 to do 4 loads of laundry and it took me over 4 hours. Maybe put a sign on the dryers if they don't work so people don't waste their time? The management was apologetic and did try to make it right. Also one night, one of the staff members turned our water off and pulled too hard and caused the water to spray out of the hookup and flood under our RV. And we didn't have water hookup for about 12 hours. This resulted in people working 1 foot away from our RV for hours, not exactly peaceful. Like I said this place does try but during our stay the mark was missed for $90 for 2 nights. Road noise is very loud but easy in/out on the highway...pros and cons. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is under new ownership and the new owners appear to be spending a lot of money to upgrade the park. The entire park has been covered in new gravel so you do not have the usual dust that is common in southeast Arizona and New Mexico. We will definitely stay there again. We have a winner! This park had the fastest wifi we've yet encountered in six+ years of RV'ing. The rules did not say "no streaming", so after a month of mediocre wifi elsewhere it was a joy to stream away with zero problems. The staff was friendly, the site was good, clean gravel, and it was easy on/off the interstate. This will become our regular stop on the way to central Arizona. Every KOA campground owner needs to study this park and emulate it. I have a love hate relationship with KOA because you never know what you are going to get. Wilcox Cochise KOA has it all except for a Playground. I did take a point off for this because kids need to let off some steam after a day of driving and touring. Wilcox Cochise KOA is clearly run by people who take pride in what they do. We intended to just stop for the night but park was so clean and nice we stayed 2. It is the desert so there is not a lot of shade but the trees are well cared for and will flourish. Easy, easy access and maneuvering. New tiled bathrooms which were immaculate, guide to your sight, nice little store on sight. I thought it was quiet and I appreciate area set aside for tent campers too.
