Nice, well-cared for campground with great access to the local attractions. Tight interior roads and narrow sites; ours was long enough and full-service, all of which worked well. Nice breakfast included in site rental, and there was a great shuttle to town. The campground folks found us good discount tickets for the Grand Canyon Railroad and we were glad to take advantage of a gratuity-based dog walker for the long big day at the Grand Canyon. No pool, but there is a spa. Good cable TV and on-again, off-again WiFi. Good Verizon. We would definitely stay here if back in the area. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent CG for a night or 2...Clean, friendly folk, convenient. I stop here on my way east, but it is also convenient for rail trips to the Grand Canyon. This is my best stop on I-40 heading east for sure. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Nice place to stay to visit the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. The town of Williams is also a quaint homage to the famous US Rte 66. The interior roads of the town could use some TLC. Even in the toad, traveling from Railside to town was a jarring experience. The park had good roads and easy to navigate. Satellite, cable, Verizon hotspot, all worked good. The sweet music of the Grand Canyon RR, (right next to the park) twice a day was great ambiance. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the free breakfasts. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

We just spent one night here but the park was excellent. Very clean. We had trouble hooking up the cable and the office manager came to our site to help us. She was just amazing and really went out of her way to make sure we were happy. New doggie park with grass and benches to sit on. We were worried that there would be train noises but there were none. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

It's about an hour's drive to the Grand Canyon. We drove up there and had a wonderful visit - our 6th or 7th! Wish we had had enough time to explore Williams, cause it looked like a nice little town with shops and restaurants.

This place was excellent! We really enjoyed staying here as our base camp to the Grand Canyon. It's about 45-60 minute easy drive to the Canyon. Williams is a really cool little town. There's a nightly "gunfight" that was well performed and provided good entertainment. Plenty of shops and grocery store. The staff here was great. They do a free breakfast every morning for the campers. We were there for the 4th of July and they provided a day long cookout with burgers, hot dogs etc. We would certainly stay here again. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Lodging taxes are added after the Good Sam discount so you pay 44.95 after tax. Sites are a mixture of sunny and open and nearby shade tree. About the only things this park doesn't have are a pool and paved parking pads. Here is a list of the amenities: daily continental breakfast of waffles, cereal, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee and milk, free WiFi, free digital cable tv, 8 OTA TV channels, loaner movies, book exchange, strong Verizon signal, dog run, dog spa in heated building with professional grade tub, game room with pool, ping pong, fooseball, and darts, outdoor putting green, basketball, exercise equipment room, spa with 2 hot tubs, playground, common use fire pit with wood supply, picnic table at each site, laundry with 4 washers and dryers. If your rig has multiple TV's the digital cable signal may degrade due to multiple splitters. This happened to me and the park owner loaned my a signal booster which fixed the issue. Park owner couldn't have been nicer. Very pleasant office and grounds staff too. You do have to keep a sense of humor about the Royal Gorge Train which does comes by several times a day (both early and late) blowing its horn at the nearby crossing. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Williams, minutes away is very tourist oriented with lots of shops. Prices varied from reasonable to very high depending on the competition. The Royal Gorge South Rim is a 60 mile drive north and you should plan to go early. The higher park entrance fee, now $35 per car, did not seem to thin the crowds. Alternatively take the railway but that does limit you to one area of the park. Flagstaff is 30 miles to the east with name brand stores.

This was the BEST service I have ever received - anywhere. Very nice park, convenient to town and outstanding owner and office staff. Our RV was a bit too long to hook up and get satellite. The owner took it upon herself to call another park in town that had bigger spaces, made a reservation and cheerfully refunded my fee. I have never had anyone so interested in helping and taking care of a customer. Kudos to this owner, and I strongly suggest that anyone consider making a reservation here. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

The park was well maintained and convenient to everything. The sites are gravel and level. They served a continental breakfast (free) while we were there. We were there on a weekend, so I'm not sure if it is everyday or just weekends. I felt like $45 was too much for the park with a Good Sam discount. The train that goes to the Grand Canyon passes by several times a day and blows its whistle. They don't run the train late or too early so it didn't bother us. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

We were here for a week, mainly to visit the Grand Canyon south rim. Some of the sites had trees and ours did. There was a good picnic table and the hookups were well placed. The tracks for the Grand Canyon Railroad and another train were next to the campground. Although the GC train came back by 6 p.m., some nights we still heard the other train after midnight. Fortunately it didn't need to blow the whistle for a crossing so it didn't keep us up. We would return to this campground if we were in the area. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Grand Canyon south rim was very busy by mid-day necessitating many people parking off-site and taking a shuttle to the visitor's center. When we were there the drive to the west was detoured and the end closed. The drive to the east was more peaceful. Sunset Crater and Wupatki Ruins loop was a nice drive. The Oak Canyon, Sedona, Montezuma Castle was another good day drive. Follow the website directions. Our GPS tried to take us down the wrong road to the campground.

This is a decent park if you plan to stay in the Williams area for a few days. Sites are narrow - about 25' so you are close to your neighbor, but length is good and pad is level. Each site had a picnic table. 50a power good. Water pressure good. Park was clean and check-in service efficient. Wi-fi reception was up and down so we used our hotspot mainly which got a decent signal. OTA TV was limited with only 2 channels and 6 sub-channels received. The park's cable TV service was good although broadcast in standard def. The campground is located next to Grand Canyon railway tracks where you can watch the trains going daily to and from the canyon. Train noise is minimal. They offer a shuttle service to get to the Grand Canyon train station downtown. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Railside RV Ranch offers superb service and facilities at a reasonable rate. When we arrived, our host greeted us warmly, showed us the upcoming weather for our stay, offered to make any tour reservations we wanted, and drove us to a couple of open spaces to allow us to choose the one we wanted. They offer daily continental breakfast, two hot tubs and a sauna enclosed in a beautiful knotty pine paneled building with lots of windows, a dog spa, with ramp, warm water, heater, and blow dryer, inexpensive laundry facilities, and complimentary pet-sitting service. Personality and customer service abound! Conveniently located between Grand Canyon and Flagstaff, this park is a gem! We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.
