Easy in and out from freeway. Have sites with just w/e as well as full hookup. Freeway and train noise - but then again, it is on 1-40. They offer a $2.00 discount to the Meteor Crater exhibit. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was a welcome discovery. We needed a transit park with easy freeway access and spacious pull-throughs, we got it here. There are many large trees which block the wind and help muffle some of the noise. There is some freeway and train noise, but they did not disturb our sleep. Fairly level gravel sites. Very nice clean private shower rooms. This will become a regular stop for us when traveling through Arizona. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Gas is competitively priced and they offer a five cent per gallon discount to guests.

WOW, this place is an oasis! Out in the middle of nowhere, it appears out of the desert. Beautiful grounds, nicely done with gravel and decomposed granite. Two fenced dog runs; and they actually have several grassy lawn areas. (A must for our dogs to walk on, they love their grass.) The place is gated 24/7, but as a guest you receive a code to enter to open the gate. Easy in and out if you want to go into Winslow for dinner. We LOVED this place, would stay hear again, highly recommend. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to visit "La Posada" in Winslow, the last Harvey House built in 1930. Beautifully restored to it's original glory, a destination in itself. We didn't have time to dine there, but the Turquoise Room looked so inviting and romantic, with a panoramic view of the trains outside hearkening back to another era.

Long, wide, level, full hookup pull thru site that was clean and had some trees for shade. Satellite access was not a problem. Some highway and train noise, but certainly not bothersome. This is a great stopover with a big wide open sky at night. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lunch or dinner at La Posada in Winslow is a "must do". The signature soup is AMAZING and the restored Harvey House hotel is a treasure. While in Winslow, go over to "standin on a corner" for a picture and some history. Meteor Crater is worth a visit also.

Big open dirt lot used for registration but worked fine. Registration staff very nice. Gated entry a bit tight and need to get out to punch in code. Restrooms a bit old but clean. Utilities worked fine. Level sites. Controlled burns from Sedona made for very smokey conditions and we stayed inside the entire time. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good stopover point while traveling I-40. Good, clean park, level gravel sites. Electricity, water, sewer worked fine. WiFi was marginal. TV antenna pulled in AZ channels and worked well. Some road noise but not enough to cause problems. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If interested in visiting Meteor Crater, ask in office for discount coupon. Check out Petrified Forest National Park and downtown Winslow if you have time.

6 miles from the Meteor Crater itself, this is an absolutely beautiful little RV park. About 15 - 20 mins into Winslow, AZ, this park is conveniently attached to a big rig-friendly fuel station & convenience store.

I have to admit, we rarely / never use RV park restrooms, but my sister-in-law did. She was so impressed, she had me go look at them! She was right. The restrooms attached to this park are spotless, not to mention VERY well-equipped. Gorgeous!

The sites are immaculate, large, & nicely spaced from your neighbours. There's an off-leash dog park for your furkids, and it's far enough from main roads to be quiet. Yes, we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Winslow, AZ (remember the Eagles song??) is quaint, nostalgic & lots of fun. Make a point of running into town & having a burger at Dar's Diner - the one with Betty Boop on the wall! And make sure you visit La Posada - a renovated old hotel that is like a museum. Took us over 2 hours to go thru it!

We have stayed here 2 times in the past and it is nice to see that the park is still nice. We have stayed here once to see the Crater with our boys and twice passing through on the 40 frwy.

Check is was easy and the manager was informative and friendly. We were able to have the pick of the place because of the time of the year we were there. They reminded us about our Good Sam membership and they also gave us some ideas for sights to see in Winslow. We were planning to go there so we could get some photos of us and our HD at the famous spot from the Eagles.

The gates close at night but, we were able to get in with no problem when we returned from our excursions.

The park has a store in the office for some essentials you might need. The restrooms were clean and everything worked properly as well as the utilities at our space. We had no problem getting a satellite and Verizon signal.

We always make it a point to stop here during our travels on the 40 frwy (route 66). We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you're a fan of sci fi, they filmed the final scene of Starman with Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen at this location.

Simple but well cared for park. Rock roads and spaces in very good condition. Very secure behind locked gate. Pull troughs are long and wide and enough room between neighbors. Very nice bathrooms and laundry. Utilities very good as well as WiFi. Quick Mart type place out front for checking in and basic food and other necessities. Five cents a gallon cash back on fuel and the fuel is the least expensive we found on I-40 coming from the west. Nice place, we'd stay again. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

It has been awhile since we stayed here and a few things have changed. First, the check in staff was new and confused. They were not sure about the length or amenities of the sites, so there was guesswork involved. Our first site was not wide enough for our MH with the slides out due to tree branches. We had to look at several other sites and finally settled on one that was water and electric only. Since it was only for one night it was acceptable, but not what we had reserved. The campground "guide" was a worker in a truck that would show you around, but was not too familiar with the sites either. He also acknowledged that the trees were in dire need of trimming. A decent campground, but I would not go out of the way to stay here. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy access on/off the interstate. Close to the interstate for convenience but not too noisy. Wide internal roads and nice long pull-throughs. Had some trees but was was able to get a shaded lot and still get line of sight for roof mounted satellite dish. Hookups were convenient. We would stay here again. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here as a gateway to visiting Meteor Crater. Check-in was fast and efficient. The park sits just off I-40 but away from highway noise. Train whistles blow nearby at all hours but, to me, are a welcome sound. The grounds are clean. The park is gated for security, a welcome advantage. Being a Good Sam Park, we took advantage of the discount. Our site was wide enough for slide outs and long enough for a RV and a toad. Level too. We would stay here again. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park has good gravel driving surface, water pressure was 35 psig, voltage was 120 vac in my coach. There is gasoline and diesel fuel available at the park convenience store. Easy pull through sites, 1/2 mile from I-40 so there was a small amount of road noise when sitting outside and a fairly busy train track a little farther but no train horns although engine noise was audible but not loud. The park offers WiFi but is a bit weak unless you have a WiFi ranger or similar antenna for your rig. We have stayed here several times and will stay here in the future. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has no cable TV and no pool. It's a nice looking park that has very nice private showers and a nice fenced in dog run. The entry gate is constantly locked and is very narrow. One has to be very careful pulling an RV through it. The entire park is not satellite friendly as there are very tall trees surrounding the parks perimeter that makes picking up the signal very hard. The manager is bossy and rude and refuses to accommodate space requests, even if they're made in advance. The plastic picnic tables are cracked and the wooden ones have splinters. The hookups are in odd places with the electric being at the back of the space and the water all the way to the front! The sewer is in the middle. This park is all about looking good, but not about providing needed services. It's not a good value for the cost. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy off/on freeway and entrance. Friendly check in. Well maintained and manicured, good wide gravel interior roads and large gravel sites. No freeway traffic, Wi-Fi worked OK most of the time. Two large dog runs. Good value, we would stay here again. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.
