Daily rate doesn't apply, as we stay for five and half months in winter. Have been staying here for five years and the amount of noisy razor type dessert vehicles has been increasing every year. The park is encouraging them over regular winter visitors. It is unbearable the amount of noise they make going up and down the streets--almost all the time now in January--will be worse in February when the park goes out to Quartzite and gives them passes. Also, there is no rules for dogs--how many or where they can go to the bathroom. This is not a five star resort. The only good thing about it is there is a lot of activities and it has a not so good golf course and driving range (driving range has an outdated ball dispenser that doesn't work half the time) We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Travel Trailer.

We live nearby, but we got a coupon for 3 free nights at Quartzsite last winter, so we decided to try the park. The individual RV sites are nothing special. Flat, gravel, with a sidewalk and a small tree on the patio side. Not even a picnic table. Sewer is where it should be. Water and electric are way back at the back. The amenities, though, are quite nice. Multiple pools, sports complex with tennis and pickleball, craft and game rooms, live music in the afternoons. The pools and sports facilities appeared to be mostly new and in good shape. The sites had a few more weeds than I would have liked. My dog kept picking up stickers. In the area we were in, over half the sites were empty, but that wasn't the case everywhere. For someone that wants to spend time at a resort, this seemed to be worth considering. We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Motorhome.

We were originally told to park in site 870, but when we got there (no escort) we found areas where someone had dug to get level and there was no way we could make it work. We called the office and they said to take site 871 which worked out great. We did stay 2 nights and did not see anyone trying to fix site 870. The wifi was ok. All the hook ups were far to the rear so be prepared with extra hoses. There are no signs near the office and we found out later that it is expected to park on the road to register, not sure how that would work if more than 1-2 rigs. We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, good location. Lovely Fry's grocery store only a couple of miles away. Stayed in the newer section, so no cover or greenery yet. (Give it 10 years, as they have planted lots of beautiful trees and shrubs.) Generous sites, beautiful pool, live music most afternoons. WIFI was great when working, but we were frequently disconnected. (Based on timing, suspect traffic volume issues.) Sites were level. Check-in desk staff seemed confused and disorganized, but all other staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Fry's was perhaps the nicest grocery store we ever went to. Yuma State Prison State Park is worth a visit. Visit to Aldegones is worth the drive. Prices are not the greatest deals ever seen, but it's an interesting shift to cross the border.

Overall Rating:

We have been staying at this park for the last ten years. This time we stayed for about 2 1/2 months. Cal-Am acquired the park in 2012 and has made many improvements since then such as the large outdoor sports complex and the large fenced-in dog parks. Live music is provided most afternoons. The 9 hole golf course is very popular as are many of the activities. Information meetings are held every Tuesday morning at 8 with coffee and donuts are provided free. In March, the onsite restaurant was closed with little notice. Some minor food service is provided in the onsite bar. The WiFi was very poor at our site which meant that we had to go to a room next to the office or sit in the dog park next to the activity office to get better internet service. Some maintenance items took a long time to get fixed (eg. lights at the dog park and one of the public desktop computers not working for weeks). We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There are many shopping opportunities within easy driving distance. There is a very large Fry's store about 3 miles away which has in-house bakery, butchery, sushi and deli counters as well as a gas/diesel station with the lowest fuel prices in the area.

Had a level, gravel, back it site. There was a concrete patio next to the trailer. There was a spot to park my truck next to the trailer. There was no cable. Over the air TV had 5 english speaking channels. AT&T worked well. Wi-Fi was free but very slow. There was no picnic table at the site. Interior roads were asphalt and easy to maneuver on. The dog park was too far from our site to be useful. We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Travel Trailer.

Booked ahead. When making the reservation they knew we were 44 feet with a tow vehicle. Their pull thru section is just a black top parking lot. The space was too small for us and we had to find another park. We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Fifth Wheel.

First of all I want to point out some issues that we had this time . Power outage, this was a problem in just a small segment of the park which just so happen to be where we were at, now keep in mind most of the people have left in our segment maybe 5% of the people are still here, I get a letter in my mailbox explaining that because of the usage of power due to hot days we are recommended to turn our generators on at 12 o'clock this is unacceptable, the ambient temperature has been in the upper 90s without getting into electricity 101, instead of trying to push the blame on a small small percentage of customers in one particular area the park needs to take the measures to use a shade or fan on their transformers therefore on hot days and believe me 90° is not very hot down here this issue would not happen. To me it comes down to money the park does not want to spend the money because this problem only probably comes up one or two days maybe three in March and after that everybody is completely out of this area anyway so they shut it down, so therefore give everybody a lame excuse and maybe just maybe they'll forget about it. Also the park has very little weed control again they must wait till everybody leaves come in and do their thing and then do it next year the same time. Enough said on negatives on the positive side, the park has a very nice pool area and excellent restaurant and bar on site and also has a very nice pickle ball and tennis court area along with the other sports that people utilize. The sites that you are on are gravel which is sufficient there is no shade so your motorhome provides the shade so were the sun happens to hit is which way you're facing. The entrance to the park is a little confusing you actually have a gravel pull out area opposite of the office which I hear this is going to be moved and then you're turning into the park is a slight grade and turn to the left with no turning lane that's where your entrance is to the park. We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at other Cal Am Parks since 2009. Compared to parks in Mesa AZ this is a horrible disappointment. The park has very poor signage to register. A big sign on a block wall for the park AFTER the office to register. We had to turn around and go back. Three people in front of us and we got told by the ranger we would have to park ourselves. Other Cal Am parks won't allow you to park in a site without ranger assistance. When we called to tell them we had an issue, no one answered the phone even though they had 6 people behind the counter "chatting" with each other. Left a message and no one returned our call. Overall Rating:

Pros. Price is great value and beautiful park. Lots of amenities and friendly people. Nice big pool. Nice wide roads. No nickle and diming. Mountains in background. Very close to Mexico so get your teeth fixed, prescription glasses, and prescriptions at extremely low prices. Lots of pickle ball courts. Cons. The neighbours beside us had dogs that wouldn't shut up. Some dune buggies were extremely noisy at the park, they should be banned. Woke us up early morning and just a nuisance. Also there isn't much out side the park to do as far as nature trails and sites. All and all we will be back there next year. It is a great park and totally a fair monthly price. We enjoyed our stay. Our site was large, being near the northeast corner of the park and backing onto the wash. The downside was no wifi ever at our site and road noise from the side road accessing the neighborhood north of the park. We enjoyed the wild birds that frequented the wash during our stay. People were friendly, happy hours were great. Karaoke night by the pool was always great entertainment! Another favorite of ours was the Friday fish and chip special at the restaurant on site. I took the Spanish course and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're into shooting pool, the pool room is pathetic. Also, the main amenities were a long way from our site. Otherwise at the time of our stay, a good value. We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Fifth Wheel.

Checked in on a Saturday 2:20 in the afternoon. Office closed. No where in the confirmation did it warn us about this plus signage marking the entrance to the office is awful and if you are lucky enough to figure it out you better have a very small rig because staging area is very small...It would have been so easy to include these details ( check in procedures & hours ) in the confirmation. This park definitely caters to long term guests and most people we ran into are very happy and seem to enjoy the park however if you are only staying about 7 days consider other parks. The pull through site that we stayed in was basically a large black top parking lot with one very small tree at the utility pedestal, lots of traffic going by regularly. Cars on one end and golf carts/ ATV's heading to the main dog park..Luckily they weren't too busy and we did have lots of space on either side of us and a nice view of the mountains out our back window. Wi-Fi is a joke could never get a good connection luckily our IPad has a Data Card and we could use the T-Moble Cell Data. Staff onsite and volunteers all seem very nice and the full timers seem to enjoy it here but for short term stays I wouldn't recommend it. We camped at Fortuna De Oro RV Park (55+) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Great value at the PA rate. The resort is large, packed full of amenities and activities, including a 9 hole golf course. Everything is in impeccable condition. Customer service was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing I rated this park down for was the pull thru parking area. The spots are all wedge-shaped, with a very narrow side and a wide side. Utilities are on a shared pedestal, so rigs are parked driver's side to driver's side. Each site is a little different, but due to the odd shapes, you might have trouble getting slides out within your space, or reaching the utilties, or you may have to choose between those two things. As it was, there were only a handful of people there, so it was not an issue, but had the park been full, it would have been a big problem. Nearly every rig in this section was lapsed over some part of their marked off area. I went to look at the back-in section, and there was no such problem there. Those sides are very spacious. One advantage of the pull thru section, though, was that it was much farther away from the interstate, and you could barely hear the traffic from there. Wifi was typical park wifi, slowed to a crawl every so often, but ok for email and light browsing. Verizon was strong. Lots of o/a tv, provided you speak Spanish!
