8 RV Parks near Barling, Arkansas
Aug 2018 - $10.00
Very disappointed in the COE Park. Have stayed in several over the years and all have been better kept than this one. Arrived during lunch hour for volunteer attendant. Went to two Park Host RVs and neither would help me. Said I had to wait until lunch was over (1 hr). Drove around looking for suitable sites. Many were too short, most steeply sloped front to back. Park was generally unkept. Many permanent campers, but few passing through. - Mike from Bama
Jun 2018 - $10.00
This CG has two sections - the A section is located on a creek that runs in to the Arkansas River. The B section is in the woods. The A section hookups are 30 amp and water, the B section sites are 30&50 amp and water. there are no full hook up sites. There is a dump station that is in good shape. Some of the sites are a little short for longer rigs; the site lengths shown on recreation.gov seem accurate. Most sites are fairly level, but many of the sites are perpendicular to the road making backing into the sites a challenge since the roads are a little narrow and bordered by ditches particularly in the B section. The camper parking pads are asphalt; the sitting areas are gravel. Some of the gravel sitting areas need to be "refreshed" with new gravel. The bathrooms are functional and basic. Site B10 appears low and would hold water or be muddy if it rains. Sites are well laid out and spacious. Signage in the campground could be improved for the first excursion into the park. The park gate is not closed at night. Good location to use a a base to tour Ft. Smith. - Bama Camper
Apr 2018 - $11.00
We stayed in B loop #12. Nice forested park with lots of amenities and playgtrounds. When we arrived I didn't realize that the park is locateed on final approach to the Ft Smith airport and airforce base. So there is an occasional aircraft overhead. We're in a 45 ft motorhome and had to pick carfully which site we could fit into. B-12 is enough out of level so my front tires are 3" off the ground. This loop is forested so there are only a few spots that can recieve satellite reception. I would give it a higher rating if the sites were more level. - Vstarrider1946
Jan 2016 - $25.00
Truck problems forced us to visit this RV Park. It is located in a portion of Fort Chaffee military base that was sold/gifted to the city of Fort Smith. The town is a ghost town except for a few workers here or there. The park has lots of very nice RVs; figure most are long term visitors working in the area. Only two spots were available. Price is reflects 50amp FHU, cable (only worked one of two days) and internet. Spacing was acceptable. Spot was the most unlevel spot we've encountered in 2 yrs of traveling full time and was used as someone's ash tray. Connections are at the back of the spot. - MichelleKry
Jun 2018 - $11.00
Site was rustic. Needed a long sewer hose because we moved forward to use Satellite. Gravel and not level but scenic once settled. Narrow access on the turn to RV section. Suggest going through the parking lot to access. Facilities were clean and our interactions with staff was wonderful. - godoit
Dec 2017 - $11.00
This is a small Military RV Park but very well maintained. We stayed 2 nights here and we will definitely be back. Everyone there was really nice. Interior roads were weathered and a little tight for my rig but it was easy to navigate. - Keith Goins
Oct 2017 - $25.00
Midpoint stop for the night. Reserved site was marked. Spacious sites with a small pond down the hill. We pulled in late and left early. The campground entrance is not clearly marked at night. - Rivercityjeff
Sep 2017 - $30.00
This is a bare bones over night type park. If self contained it is adequate for stays as long as desired for other outside activities. The park is strictly for travelers or workers. It is not family oriented but is pet friendly. Payment is cash only, and they will accept checks from travelers. WiFi is not great, but available most of the time. - Oddyssey
Aug 2016 - $27.00
Sites are gravel (very little in some sites) and are not level. Hookups are at back of site so we were unable to leave our tow vehicle hooked up. CG is very close to I-40 and there is a lot of noise. This CG is convenient for a 1 night stay but I would not like to be here for more than overnight. Tow vehicle had to be parked in front of our motor home. - Grammy8
Jun 2016 - $29.00
We stayed here on our way home. The lots are angled, making it easy for us to get into. There was quite a bit of highway noise. The lots are long and they have Wi-Fi, but it was spotty. The bathrooms were tidy, and we had phone service. We enjoyed our stay, but we will probably find one a little further from the highway to avoid the noise next time. - lougreene67
Jun 2018 - $41.00
We stayed here for 3 nights at this lovely park. The spaces side-by-side were close, but long enough for our 37 ft. motorhome and towed vehicle. Plenty of nice shade trees in most of the spaces, which were not numbered. Our space was level on gravel with grass between. Shared 30 and 50 amp available, water good pressure and dump was not bad. I did not use the laundry, because there was only one working washer and unsure of the 4 dryers. The room was dirty and unacceptable to use. However, the ladies bathrooms (2) were individual and clean with shower, toilet and sink. We enjoyed our stay here and the lady in the office was very helpful and pleasant. Some of the spaces were tight to get into with many trees between, but do-able. Will stay here again next time we come to Van Buren. - We3Travel
May 2018 - $35.00
Due to a breakdown enroute, we had a reservation, cancelled it, and re-instated it. We got the last 50a site available, paying in the office on arrival at 5:15pm. $35 a night for the weekly rate with Good Sam discount seems a bit on the high side, but it is what is it. We had a nice pull through site under the trees with plenty of toad parking, but impossible to get our satellite TV. A cable box was available with a $70 deposit, but that would only serve one of our TVs so we passed, getting by on about 18 local OTA channels. Be sure you use a water pressure gauge as mine indicated 112psi. Sewer fittings are slip-in and the neighbor's overflowed when I dumped my tanks. We had a peaceful week there and will stay again to visit family. - AFChap
May 2018 - $41.00
Arrived to find office closed (even though sign on door said it was open). Called the number on door, husband answered and said he was surprised his wife wasn't in office, advised us to pick a site and he would sort out when he got off work. After we parked AND hooked up, wife arrived and told us we were in the wrong spot - in fact she told us she had no record of our reservation! In fairness to us, she allowed us to stay in the spot and agreed to move the other party when they arrived - she did have the grace to apologize profusely for the mix-up. Then, the sites, all sand with a bit of gravel, not marked in any way, not sure the rate warranted the charge made for what we got. Campground does not have a map, so finding a site was not easy. Did note that when husband was there, he showed everyone to their site. Otherwise the campground is pretty, and not many "permanents" in pleasant surroundings, but would hate to think access would be like during or after a rain. - Retired Wanderers
Jun 2015 - $27.00
This park is a gravel parking lot with very tight spots. The basic rate is $25 but for 50 Amps, the rate is $27. The 50 amp breaker continually tripped in site 30. Management knew it but would not fix it. I was stuck here for four days while the temperature climbed to nearly 100 degrees in my RV. Do not rely on the attached RV dealership. They did repairs on my 5th wheel hitch and the new parts fell out while I was driving to get fuel. I got back to the park and could not hook up to the 5th wheel pin. I won't be back. - KD7UCH
Apr 2015 - $25.00
This is a fairly clean park with continuous distant traffic noise and some train noise.
Sites are dirt and gravel, narrow, mostly not level, in various lengths, without shade. Not all sites have sewer connections, 50 amps, or cable. Voltage is good.
Roads are dirt and gravel, in good condition.
Staff and hosts are friendly and helpful, but can be hard to find.
WiFi is strong. One afternoon I measured 653.6 kB/s down; by evening it was very slow.
Verizon LTE works well.
Showers are clean but lack privacy.
Laundry: 2 top-loaders ($1.25), 2 dryers ($1 for 46 min).
Rate is total with Good Sam. - wjzcbn
Mar 2015 - $25.00
As stated by others, this is really a parking lot for the RV servicing & sales company. It is okay for an over night stay. Others have stated their site was level. Number 25 was not. Big rigs beware. I witnessed a rather large fifth wheel nearly slip into the creek that runs threw the camp grounds. The wheels dipped into a wash that had cut into the gravel roadway. Our entrance door was just 5 feet from our neighbor's full hook up drop. We were 7 feet from his unit. Staff personnel were nice and helpful. The park is pet friendly. Many "sites" appeared to be homesteading or had just dropped as a storage place. Value wise, at $25, was acceptable for clean bathroom and showers. - Laptop Willie
May 2018 - $43.00
Not sure why such a low rating. I have stayed at worse with a better rating. The only complaint is that it is way too expensive and too far away from Ft Smith. This campground is easy to find, just follow the Garmin, but don't turn off of 71. The entrance in on 71. Check-in was easy, but they got my reservation date wrong. Staff was friendly and helpful. Interior roads are paved, but narrow. Our site was long, but narrow and not very level. Sites are also kind of close. Full hookups worked as expected. WIFI worked well. Verizon had four bars. OTA TV worked great. They offer a free cable box, but for me it would have been to much of a hassle to hook it up. This is a great place for pets, lots of dog walking room. This is an older campground with a few extended stay guests at the upper end. It's also a really pretty park with lots of grass and mature trees. This is a decent place to camp, but because of price and distance to Ft Smith, we probably wouldn't stay here again. - newbies2016

The campground was not terrible if it was operated better. The bathrooms were updated and clean. The pool was not so much. It was swim-able but with bugs in it. The older man who checked us in was, in a word, crotchety. I asked what time the pool closed and he said "you can do what you want, you can drown, you can catch a cold, I don't care. I am leaving." I had no response. If pressed I would stay here again for a short amount of time but hope I am not pressed. - MandM12550
Apr 2016 - $30.00
This is a very quiet park behind the golf course that is not easy to find. We were visiting family that live on the golf course so it was very convenient. Water pressure is good, 50 amp hook-up works fine and the grounds are well kept as you might expect at a golf course. I don't think that this park gets much use and we were the only RV there. It is mainly for golfers but they seemed happy to have us. We will certainly be back when we are in the area. We have a 40 foot 5th wheel. - KD7UCH
Sep 2013 - $27.00
Eagle Crest RV campground and golf course was most unusual . You find the RV park by driving through a residential area and into the golf course parking lot. The RV ( 18 ) sites are down the hill and past/behind the gold cart storage building. The park is a tall grass field with some small patios and offers FHU. It was basically deserted ( one other coach ) when we arrived. There are no trees for shade, no tables, no wi-fi, no fire pits and no showers so you better be self contained. It offers highway noise throughout the night. They say they have a host, but he lives on the golf course – not at the campground. He was good to come down and introduce himself and offer assistance. We came here to take advantage of the golf special, but upon arriving, we learned of a tournament, and our promised two rounds of golf might not be possible. I think that the golf professional knew that when he took our call, but he still said come on to the campground. The course wanders through a residential neighborhood and looks fine. I didn’t get to play it because of the tournament. Our below rating covers only the campground. The overall rating might have been higher if I could have gotten on the course. We’re pretty sure we would not consider this facility for a future stop. - 5thwheeler
