7 Parks near Barling, Arkansas
May 2016 - $9.00
We enjoyed this park. Friendly Work Campers. We happened to pick one of few sites without water. But we bought an extra length of hose and shared with the neighbor, no problem. Our site was level and nice and long. We made contact with some of the volunteers through RVillage and were invited to a birthday party. Lots to see and do in Russellville which is not far. The campground was nice and quiet. Some of the sites are not very level, pick carefully. - houseonwheels

Easy access to and in the park with our 40'+ RV but our back-in site (B3) was at a 90 degree angle from the road; not an overly hard site to back in but a little angle would have been nice. "B" section sites are wooded with 50 amp electric and most (but not all) sites have water. "A" section has wider paved sites with less overhead cover along the water but only 30 amp electric and most (but not all) sites have water. Very helpful and friendly woman at the front access gate / booth. Quiet at night. Only a few minutes away from Fort Smith proper. We would stay again. - Snidely Whiplash
May 2015 - $20.00
We always enjoy COE campgrounds. We stayed in the "B" loop, which had 50 amp water and electric. The site was grass and stone/sand......not a problem until it rained, and it got a little mucky. The water and electric worked as it should, and we had to use our portable satellite dome as we had heavier tree cover (great for shade!). The "A" loop is mostly 30amp electric service/water, but the sites are concrete, and there is a better view of the water. We would try to stay in that section next time we are in the area. Highly recommend! - henny38

Truck problems forced us to visit this RV Park. It is located in a portion of Fort Chaffee military base that was sold/gifted to the city of Fort Smith. The town is a ghost town except for a few workers here or there. The park has lots of very nice RVs; figure most are long term visitors working in the area. Only two spots were available. Price is reflects 50amp FHU, cable (only worked one of two days) and internet. Spacing was acceptable. Spot was the most unlevel spot we've encountered in 2 yrs of traveling full time and was used as someone's ash tray. Connections are at the back of the spot. - MichelleKry
Apr 2016 - $11.00
What a gem! There's not many things to see in the area but this is that get-away-from-it-all kind of place. If you want a campground that feels like it's out in the wilds, stay here. The campsites were fairly level even though they were spread out on a hill overlooking a small pond and the post. They were spacious with lots of grass and trees. The hookups included 50 & 30 amp, water, and sewer and worked perfectly. There were laundry machines available at no cost. Soldiers were fishing in the pond. The only downside to this place was NO wifi. This is the only military installation I have ever stayed at that did not play the National Anthem in its daily ensemble of songs piped over the speaker system at 0600, 1700, and 2200 hours. - Melodycthomas
Jun 2015 - $12.00
Quite, safe, hassle free. This is a nice but no frills RV park. Lots of space with trees in many spots. Fishing pond nearby. Some sites are 20/30 amp, the remaining sites are 20/50 amp. No laundry, but Laundromat available just off base in the city of Barling. Small PX, gym and weight room on base. Staff very helpful. Deer hunting is popular on the base in fall and early spring. Base has thousands of wooded acres. - Gadzilla
Aug 2016 - $27.00
Sites are gravel (very little in some sites) and are not level. Hookups are at back of site so we were unable to leave our tow vehicle hooked up. CG is very close to I-40 and there is a lot of noise. This CG is convenient for a 1 night stay but I would not like to be here for more than overnight. Tow vehicle had to be parked in front of our motor home. - Grammy8
Jun 2016 - $29.00
We stayed here on our way home. The lots are angled, making it easy for us to get into. There was quite a bit of highway noise. The lots are long and they have Wi-Fi, but it was spotty. The bathrooms were tidy, and we had phone service. We enjoyed our stay, but we will probably find one a little further from the highway to avoid the noise next time. - lougreene67
Apr 2016 - $29.00
This is a nice campground. They have some nice long pull thru sites that allow big rigs to stay hooked up. They have 50 Amp FHU available. The park is older but clean and tidy. Roads and pads are gravel with grass but very narrow spaces. ATT & Verizon work well. Plenty of clear sky for satellite set up. Restrooms are three unisex cubicle and are clean. No train but some Hwy noise. Free WiFi works well. Park was full as only two sites available when we arrived at 1PM and some later arrivals were turned away. Many extended stay which looked like local workers. The park was tidy and quiet. Fast foods, restaurants and Walmart nearby.
Will stay again. - TedandJan
Aug 2016 - $30.00
The setting is beautiful (trees and creek). The park is clean and relatively-well maintained. The WiFi is pretty good. Satellite reception is, for the most part, non-existent due to the tree density. - MarkB
Aug 2016 - $38.00
What has been said by other reviews are essentially correct. Great staff/owners who are really trying hard and working currently to make improvements. Specifically, the restrooms/laundry (currently under construction). If you are self contained, this park is fine but I have to agree a little over priced for what they are currently. I would still recommend the park in an effort to help the owners/staff get the work done that is needed to justify the price. It was a very quite park with nice fulltime residents scattered about. Nice river view and our space was fine. Some spaces are a little close to each other, while some are not. I say support this park in hopes of helping them complete their improvements. - Djb

We stayed here for one night while traveling through the area. The staff member we spoke with was very friendly and gave us a spot that was large enough for our camper and our extra vehicle. Our site was mostly level. The bathhouse, however, and the area surrounding it, were terrible. The shower stalls were filthy, as were the toilet stalls. The door did not latch on the stall, and there were more than a few bugs. The wall separating the shower stalls was partially rotted and moved when you leaned against it. There were used band-aids on the floor, and a LOT of dirt. The men's bathroom was in similar shape and reeked of urine. There was no mirror at all in the men's room. The area outside of the bathhouse was covered with tools and cigarette butts and other small bits of trash. This was probably the worst bathhouse we have ever seen, especially for the price, which was among the most expensive of our cross-country trip. I feel bad about writing this in my review because the staff was so very nice, but unless you are completely self-contained and are sure you won't need to use the bathhouse, avoid this campground. - NomadFamily
Jun 2015 - $27.00
This park is a gravel parking lot with very tight spots. The basic rate is $25 but for 50 Amps, the rate is $27. The 50 amp breaker continually tripped in site 30. Management knew it but would not fix it. I was stuck here for four days while the temperature climbed to nearly 100 degrees in my RV. Do not rely on the attached RV dealership. They did repairs on my 5th wheel hitch and the new parts fell out while I was driving to get fuel. I got back to the park and could not hook up to the 5th wheel pin. I won't be back. - KD7UCH
Apr 2015 - $25.00
This is a fairly clean park with continuous distant traffic noise and some train noise.
Sites are dirt and gravel, narrow, mostly not level, in various lengths, without shade. Not all sites have sewer connections, 50 amps, or cable. Voltage is good.
Roads are dirt and gravel, in good condition.
Staff and hosts are friendly and helpful, but can be hard to find.
WiFi is strong. One afternoon I measured 653.6 kB/s down; by evening it was very slow.
Verizon LTE works well.
Showers are clean but lack privacy.
Laundry: 2 top-loaders ($1.25), 2 dryers ($1 for 46 min).
Rate is total with Good Sam. - wjzcbn
Mar 2015 - $25.00
As stated by others, this is really a parking lot for the RV servicing & sales company. It is okay for an over night stay. Others have stated their site was level. Number 25 was not. Big rigs beware. I witnessed a rather large fifth wheel nearly slip into the creek that runs threw the camp grounds. The wheels dipped into a wash that had cut into the gravel roadway. Our entrance door was just 5 feet from our neighbor's full hook up drop. We were 7 feet from his unit. Staff personnel were nice and helpful. The park is pet friendly. Many "sites" appeared to be homesteading or had just dropped as a storage place. Value wise, at $25, was acceptable for clean bathroom and showers. - Laptop Willie
Sep 2016 - $36.00
The speed bumps are a bit of a nuisance. They have a nice pool. We stayed toward the rear of the park in a 30-amp site w/ water and sewer. Not all sites provide a window through the trees for DirecTV but E-5 (our site) did. - MarkB
Jan 2016 - $42.00
Nice folks at the office. They were very helpful. Despite the rain and wet grounds the campground is lovely, but perhaps a bit pricey for location and amenities. There are clusters of campers spread around open space and treed areas. There is a small pond with paddle boats. Although there isn't a dog run there is plenty of space for walking dogs. - Dreaming
Jan 2016 - $45.00
We stopped here for one night and would stay again. The weather wasn't very nice but if you could get outside, the park would be enjoyable for a longer stay. We had a concrete patio with picnic table and a set of outdoor table and chairs. No Fire Rings but Level site, Good utilities, Decent size lots, Friendly owners. Satellite was no problem and good Verizon signal. WIFI speed is poor as in most parks. Your GPS will send you in the exit but its not a problem as the exit road used to be the entrance. - Pjoe
