My GPS took me to the wrong location, a dead end at a gravel pit. As I look at the map now, that gravel pit must be 3 miles from the park. I always use GPS coordinates instead of physical address, but that didn't help this time. In fact, the actual physical address for this park is in Bigelow, AR; not Conway, AR I called the park and the attendant couldn't give me any directions, saying, "I just arrived here myself." I called "Rec.gov" and they said the park is 4 miles west of Conway on Hwy 60. That was what I needed and I found the park shortly thereafter. The GPS coordinates, at the park entrance, are: N 35.07755 W 092.54589. The park is typical Corps of Engineers.....electricity and water at sites, no sewer. But, a dump station at park entrance. Nicely maintained grounds. Bathrooms were relatively well-kept. Beautiful location on the Arkansas River, right at the Toad Suck Dam. With my America the Beautiful pass, overnight fee was $10. I would definitely return, especially now that I know how to find it! We camped at Toad Suck Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Great location on the west side of Conway about 5 miles to center of town, University of Central Arkansas, Hendrix College and Central Baptist College. It only has electric and water at sites, but a convenient dump is located at front of park near ranger's office. Beautiful views of the Arkansas River at the Toad Suck Lock & Dam. Concrete picnic table with cover (or tree cover), burn pit/grill, water and 20/30/50A electric at each site. Loop A is only loop that takes reservations. It is all quite shaded and probably will not support satellite TV. AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile service is good at this site. A hidden gem for $20 a night. We camped at Toad Suck Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful spacious park about 8 miles from Route 40 near Conway, AK. Cross over the bridge, turn right into the One Stop and shimmy over to the park entrance. Signage is poor but you can figure it out. Shady, spacious, pretty much level (minimal sloping on the sites). Water and electric worked great. Nice picnic shelters, fishing off the bank, well kept playground. We stayed in A loop, which seemed to have the most shade (site A05). Took our chairs over to the bank under the shade trees and watched the water flow by. We camped at Toad Suck Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here over night without a reservation. We arrived around 3:30 and got the last 50 Amp site. We were asked if we could use 30 Amp. Not until I asked if that meant there were no 50 Amp sites available did I find out there was one. The gate attendant was also a little grumpy. The bathhouses are not cooled and because of that would have been unpleasant to use. Other than these items the park is a nice stopping spot. It is 8 miles from I40. The sites were level gravel. We camped at Toad Suck Campground COE in a Motorhome.

We very much enjoyed our stay a Toad Suck Campground. We were in site A02 which looked right out on the Arkansas River and the locks. The site was surrounded by mature, tall trees. I had to place my satellite dish out toward the road, and if you have a roof mount it may not work. Good power and water, and excellent AT&T and Verizon service. After a string of $40 per night private campgrounds $20 seemed like a bargain. We camped at Toad Suck Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Bathrooms are updated. Most sites are level except 3 or 4 sites. Half of sites reservable and half first-come come first pick. Beautiful view of the Arkansas river. Has a boat ramp. Several updated playgrounds with new equipment. Clean Pavilions throughout the park. We camped at Toad Suck Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Nicest COE park we have ever been. Clean, facilities look new, sites are great. As a bonus, you may see barge traffic go thru the lock and dam at Toad Suck. Used as a 1 night stay off I-40. Will stay longer next time. We camped at Toad Suck Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Saw the name Toad Suck and thought we HAD to stay here.

It was awesome!! Tons of amenties-basketball court, volley ball area, playground, picnic pavilion, shower and bathrooms, great fishing area. Really nice park. It would be a 10 if it had sewer. Gorgeous view of the river and you can watch the boats load and unload in the locks-part of the Mckellen Kerr navigation system. We camped at Toad Suck Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Great COE park. The volunteers are friendly and very helpful. Restrooms/showers very clean. We stayed in site C01, it was a level site. Enjoyed watching the barges and boats going through the locks. There were basket ball courts and play areas through out the park. There are many sites that are for "walk-up" and even more that can be reserved. If you are going to stay here during the weekend or holidays I would reserve a site. The park is very popular during the summer. We will definitely stay here again. Walmart is the closest major store to the park. There are many stores and restaurants in nearby Conway, Ar. We ate at Mike's Steak House in Conway and really enjoyed the meal.

This park was a few miles off the main highway but accessible. We pulled in around 1 am and found it easily. A 14 requires some leveling but was not bad. We were staying in the Conway area for a conference and just drove our motorhome back and forth everyday since it is only 24 feet. The park attendant was friendly and the park was clean. We were close to the water and fished but didn't catch anything as it was cold and rainy. Overall a nice park on the Arkansas River with good parking. Folks were friendly and spaces were long enough for my truck and 43 foot fifth wheel. Tv antennae reception was good. Not much road noise in section A next to Arkansas River. Good 50 amp service and ATT phone service strong. Only negative was low water pressure. We camped at Toad Suck Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.
