Very easy to reserve, and they helped us to find our pull-through spot and get set up when we arrived. They gave us local area recommendations, and we enjoyed a nearby dinner. We were only there one night, passing through, and it was a great value. Quiet, clean, and easy to get in and out of. We were not there to camp long term, so we weren't concerned with facilities or amenities. We would stay there again for sure. - Ashley-RoadBloggers
Sep 2016 - $30.00
My family and I have stayed here a few times with our pets while visiting relatives. There is a few pull through spots in the front that we use. They're near the road but it's not to bad.
We call to let them know when we will be arriving and everything is always taken care of. We don't use amenities because we are running around with family.
It's convenient to shopping, churches, hospitals, gas, and many more things. If you are wanting ritzy then this might not be your place. If you are wanting convenience and nice people, it's exactly where you want to come.
If we are able, we will stay here when in this area.
Thank you Perkins RV for the kindness we have always received. - Cissis1

Got a site. Site was new but was it prepared properly. Buried my motor home to the bed. Cost $200.00 to get pulled out. Had to change sites in the rain. - Wade1946 _-

Campground is very nice and the hosts were extremely helpful and courteous. The park appears to very busy, but yet there is enough room to spread out. There was plenty of ATT cell service and there was plenty of shopping areas within a reasonable distance. - DuranDDuran1

Love this park, as it is only 15 minutes from the only grandchild! We stayed here March 2016 for the first time, site 14, on lakeside. Stayed again in September 2016 for 7 days as last stop on a 4 site trip (site 26, top of hill). Stayed here again as 2nd stop on a 2 site trip (site 13 lakeside). We like the people, we like the ability to drop gray water. No sewer hookups but a easy dump station at camp exit. - Damon-Becky

Rate reflects Senior discount. Most all previous reviews are accurate and reflect our feelings about this campground. We chose this place as convenient and inexpensive. It is also very peaceful, calm, and a wonderful place to stay for several days and explore the area. There are some downsides, which is why I gave it a 9. First, no Wi-Fi or cable. However, we did pick up local stations over the air, so we could keep up with news and weather. Second, the roads in the park are narrow and windy. Not a problem if you are comfortable with your rig, but it is slow going. Third, though they advertise "swimming" at the park, it is Not allowed currently due to too many geese swimming and using the beach. Finally, directions to the park are not clear. Do not take SR-1; this will force you to take the Craighead Forest Rd which is narrow, has tight turns and blind hills to get to the park. All this, the camp host was wonderful, the sites very level and wide, and the bathhouse clean and well maintained. As mentioned, there is free firewood at your campsite and the sites are far enough apart to be comfortable. There are woods all around and wonderful walking trails to enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. We would stay here again. - Too-wow

This is a beautiful Arkansas State Park that does not have many RV sites, 18, and fewer tent sites. However it has many walking trails, some with bridges. Not a lot to see or do in the area, but if you want peace and quiet in the woods, this is the place to be. The Arkansas Parks and Wildlife site leads you to believe there is WI-FI in the park, there is NOT. They do offer it in the rental cabins only. I took a three day break from the road, and this was a great place to get some rest. - Mark Ford
Jul 2017 - $22.00
This is a beautiful state park. Camping area is small, and many of the sites are far from level both front to back, and side to side. There are no sewers, which is common in our parks, but the dump site is clean, and very well laid out. Electrical hookup and water were both very good. The restroom, showers, and entire area is very well maintained. The interior road is narrow, and there is a small turn around at the end of the road. I had to back and forth 3 times with only a 27 foot trailer. Some sites are very roomy, others are very close. I had to ask my neighbor to move his truck to get into my site. #12. With all those qualifiers, it is a beautiful setting, wildlife abundant, and very fresh and clean. - BWolfAR
Jun 2017 - $20.00
The campground is small, only 35 sites total. 17 tent sites and 18 camper sites. We stayed in site 10. It is almost right across the street from the bathroom shower house. This building IS NOT air conditioned. The sewer line stopped up and backed up Friday night and filled the floor with sewage. Maintenance worked on it then called roto rooter to fix it. The maintenance man said the clay pipe lines were installed in the 50's and were deteriorating badly. But I can't blame it all on them though. Because some of the stuff that people flushed should have never been flushed. Idiots! Most of the sites are pretty level. I only had to use a 2x6 under one side to level. Site 8 was sloping to the back of the drive. Site 9 was down a steep hill and not much room for a camper of any size. But tents used it while we were there but water and mud ran though this site bad and the electric box is on the wrong side. The park was very clean, hardly any litter. Trash cans are everywhere. They are constantly mowing and weed-eating. The park employees are very friendly and helpful. The swim lake had 3 lifeguards in swimming area. Site 1 is pull-through the rest are back in. If you have a trailer longer than 22 ft. you might want to call before booking. The hiking trails are very good. If your into geocaching there is one on one of the trails neat find. Lots of wildlife running around too. Paragould is about 12 miles away and there is Lowes, Walmart and Hays grocery stores there plus tons of restaurants, fast and sit down. Most sites are pretty shady, but not all. I will stay here again. - kj4unx

Stayed here four nights visiting family. It's a city park with people walking, children playing, and picnics. Close to town but quite setting. We always enjoy our stays. Recently paved interior roads. - Hobbes
Nov 2016 - $10.00
A community park that is used by many of it's residents. We stayed here 9 days waiting for cooler weather before moving further south. There are ducks and geese that wander around, but they didn't bother the camp sites or the campers.
To register and pay you must go to the community center. They then give you keys to access the electric hookups, water, dump station and showers. See the city website for details.
We would stay here again. - User2260
Jul 2015 - $15.00
This is a city park with a limited number of spaces. Park is kept picked up but the Canada Geese make this place a mess. Geese are there by the hundreds. It is located on a very small lake. There is fishing from the bank. Staff at community center which runs the park are very friendly and will help all they can. Some spots are shaded. We were visiting relatives in Paragould. - travel2011

This is a small RV parking lot right in town. No bathhouse or restrooms. Owner is not on site. Call for owner to meet you at the lot. It was good for a quick overnight stay. - GrandmaLee
