This was a overnight stop for us. The park is about 3 miles off I-40. Most of the older sites require leveling. The sites on the west area are fairly level. There are several water faucets in the park to fill your tank. Electric power was good. Two trains came by during the night and blew their horns. Local TV is available ( 6 channels). This is our second time stopping for the night and will do it again. I gave it a lower rating because of the conditions of the older restroom facilities. The new shower / toilet facilities are great. We camped at Sparda Recreation Area COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Pretty, little campground on the Arkansas River. 20/30 Amps at the sites. Dump station and water available. Busy railway along side of campground with trains a couple times an hour all day/night. We camped at Sparda Recreation Area COE in a Motorhome.

This was a beautiful park for an overnight stay. The site we were in was on a slope and was fine as long as I didn't need to disconnect the truck. The angle would have made that tough. The view was excellent and weather was just as nice. We paid the Golden Age rate but the normal rate was only $15 for our site. Of course it only had electric and the antenna did pick up a couple channels so it was just fine for one night. We camped at Sparda Recreation Area COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a Corp of Engineers campground. Golden Age Passports cut the prices to as low as $6.50 per night. We had a double site with two picnic tables and the pavement was about 20' by 60'. Many sites are easy to back into. Per Reserve America, one site is over 100' deep. The campground host suggested ones for our group of 3 RV's that would be easy to get into since we were not going to unhitch. The park overlooks the Arkansas River. 3 miles south off I-40. After about 1 mile the road makes a right hand turn to the campground. There was no sign after the initial sign at the I-40 exit. Outdoor activities such as camping, picnicking, boating, and sightseeing are favorite past times. Spadra Campground offers 25 sites, 20 sites have electric hook ups. Additional amenities include a dump station, hot showers, a boat ramp, a shelter, and a marina with a restaurant. Our group had a class B Motorhome, a 33' travel trailer and a 35' fifth wheel. Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. 2 day minimum on weekends. 3 day minimum on holidays. CAUTION: This is a high cliff area. Exercise caution (especially with children). The campground is open year round and sites range from $9-$15/night. A picnic shelter is available for $35 for a half day and $50 for a full day. The campground telephone number is (479)754-6438. About 6 TV stations are available. We camped at Sparda Recreation Area COE in a Travel Trailer.
