We got in late and it was definitely off the beaten path. We had pre-registered and our spot was marked off with an orange cone so we were able to set up and check in, in the morning. The bathrooms were sparse but clean. The spot was level, fully shaded and close to a wonderful large playground with swings, merry go round, climbing dome, 4 way see saw, slides, sand pit, etc. There is a kids fishing area where my child caught a fish! Beautiful scenery. We didn't have time to check out the other spots closer to the lake, but since we have kids the spot close to the playground was perfect. - Sunnydance

This was one of the nicest campgrounds we've ever stayed at. Everything was clean and the hosts were extremely nice. Please note this campground is quite a bit off the beaten path, so make sure you have all of your supplies. The park is a hidden jewel. There are raccoons and other wildlife, so keep your campsite clean. There are also alligators in the lake, so don't be shocked if you see one. The bathhouses are private and very clean. We will certainly camp here again. - John Maddox

This is a very nice, well kept COE park. We had a waterfront site and water views on all sides. This would be a great place if you liked to fish, bike, or boat. We only had electric hookups at our site but that was ok with us. It is quite a ways off the beaten path, but worth the extra effort if you like big spacious sites and peace and quiet. - bgbassman

COE park. Sites with water and electric. Good spot for fishing. We stayed the night while passing thru the area. Wasn't worth the 10 mile drive off of AR-65.
Had dump station in poor repair.
Rained hard that night and everything was standing puddles and mud. - MapmanKC

Excellent and beautiful campground. Three sites are located directly on the Arkansas River with 30-amp and water - these are back-in only, but allows for river view from the front windows of an RV. Eighteen relatively new sites have 50-amp service with water. Sites are very large with paved pads, covered picnic tables, fire ring, grill and table for scaling fish. We would definitely return and have already recommended to other campers. Campground is is organized as follows: C1-3 - Riverfront - 30amp & water All B sites - 30-amp and water. All A sites - 50-amp and water. Dump station was on the left as you exit the park. Clean restroom, clean park and excellent volunteer staff. - Stan & Marsha

This is a great camp area if you just want to put in your boat and catfish ,etc. Do not stay in area B. Area C gives you the river views, while area B has a stagnant creek behind it and made the mosquitoes unbearable. Also we were surrounded by shedding cottonwood trees which covered every inch of our site and camper. We could not use our picnic table either due to the numerous amounts of ant hills. This camp site does not supply you with firewood and the bathrooms need updating. We did however catch some good fish! - RobinS

This must be one of the best kept secrets in Arkansas. The campground is beautiful. It sits on the banks of the Arkansas River. The sites are beautiful. We really can't say anything bad about the park. The only thing we didn't understand was registration upon arrival. On Tuesday and I think Wednesday the guard shack is not manned. There are no instructions posted as to what to do for entry. Luckily we had our printed reservation information with us so we knew what campsite we had. We never had anyone validate our stay. That was the only downside that we saw. When in north Arkansas, this is the place to stay. - Rick & Carol

This is a really beautiful and lovingly maintained COE campground right on the Arkansas River, southeast of Pine Bluff. Huge trees shelter every site and you have a choice of nestling in a grove of them, or staying right on the waterfront. The couple who take care of this place are friendly, helpful and have done a tremendous job maintaining it on inadequate federal funds. No great number of services or attractions, but as much quiet and relaxation as you could want. Cellular data signal was fair to good. Yes, the bathrooms are still waiting for the maintenance mentioned in the previous review, but that in no way diminished my enjoyment of this gorgeous and peaceful campground. It was so nice that I stayed an extra night. - RockinFX
