This campground is a jewel. It combines refreshing shade and amazing waterfront views. But not together. The main campgrounds feature 6 sites at the NW end with knock-dead gorgeous views down Beaver Lake. But they have little shade from the summer sun (6 is an exception), though they are fitted with veraranda like pads with balustrades over the water. The rest of the lakeview sites are on terraced levels above those six, with lots of shade from big elms and oaks. While the map would suggest that they are somewhat crowded, the trees and the different levels make them very private and nonobtrusive to each other. Two strategically placed toilet faciities serve the whole area within an easy stroll. Showers, however, clean and hot as they are, reside up a steep, long climb up the hill. The breezes are from the SW, so the hillside causes them to be light and variable, but the shade makes up for it. ATT cellphone and internet access are tentative, but if you hold the device right for long enough they will function. Numerous fresh water faucets spot the area, but most require a very long hose or a stop in the middle of the narrow road for a tank fillup. A faucet at the dump station just outside the gate has the best access. Ice, drinks, sundries are available at the adjoining marina at the usual convenience markup. Across the road from the entry hut is a separate set of sites in a heavily wooded area with no water views but set up so no one feels spied upon. A toilet faciity there is easily accessible by all sites. The shower is across the road. The entire complex is neat, tidy, and well kept. We camped at Lost Bridge North COE in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is divided into two sections, by the water and away from water. We were in site 38 away from water. The sites by the water looked nice but noticed everyone had a boat, maybe a car or two which to us made the campground look "tight." Our site was more rustic, and seemed more spacious. Our site was asphalt, some of which had fallen away that made the site narrow. There were only pit toilets in our area with showers across the way. We had TV over the antenna and Verizon low lte phone service. Would return. No water at site but nearby. We camped at Lost Bridge North COE in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The campsites at this park are very nice, paved, level sites. They are electric only. We had good satellite reception and the utilities worked well. AT&T signal was pretty non-existent, Verizon was poor also. What was really disappointing about this campground is the restrooms. Although we didn't use them, we were camping with family who did and it was a walk to get to the one vault toilet, then a hike uphill to get to the flush toilets. The showers are not something you can walk to. It is a drive to get to, and they don't even have restrooms in them! Was also disappointed that there was not water at the sites. As new as those sites looked, it sure seems like water could've been added when they were updated. The south campground (which wasn't open) had water at the sites. Interior roads had very sharp turns for a big rig it is hard to maneuver. Our rate is with the America the Beautiful Pass. We would stay here again only because we are self-contained. Friendly staff working at the booth. We camped at Lost Bridge North COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

In Garfield, there is a convenience store "Short Stop" that is home of the "giant cone". I had a small cone and it was at least 8" tall!! Can't imagine what the large is like.

Only an 8 because the one set of showers that you must drive to, don't lock and only have a shower curtain to separate the two showers from the dressing area. For water, there are spigots around the sites you can get a container and fill and tote back, or some are close enough you can run a hose, fill and disconnect. There are no sewers so if you stay more than a few days you will have to move and dump at a site about 1/2 mile from campgrounds. Getting in was a little challenge, some roads are narrow, and was washed out at one point so it was single lane. Roads are paved in campground and should be no problem for most motor homes /5th wheels. Now the great. For pete's sake it's right on Beaver Lake. Staff is friendly and you can rent boats at the marina, which is about 200 feet from campground. Quiet and patrolled by the sheriff, we felt very safe here. We camped at Lost Bridge North COE in a Motorhome.

This State Park campground on Beaver Lake is very well maintained and has a very friendly, but very small staff. We go here once or twice a year for fishing and boating. Sites are paved and relatively level, all with "patio" space, a concrete picnic table and fire ring. Very quiet at night. We camped at Lost Bridge North COE in a Fifth Wheel.
