What a nice campground. Next to a beautiful river and extremely well kept. Guides for finding that trophy fish are available for hire. We have friends in the area, so didn't get a chance to fish but next time..... - Mack2383
Sep 2017 - $32.00
Second time at this park and we chose to stay here because of the location. Both times the park was very dusty with no tv reception. WiFi was great so we down loaded movies. Only a couple of spots where you had a good view of the river. If some of the under brush was cleaned out the view of the river would be great. We will probably check out another campground on our next visit. - kcarter
Aug 2017 - $35.00
Very nice and clean park right on the White River. Friendly and helpful owner. Will definitely stay here again. - arkietraveler

Arrived at Blue Heron Campground the week after Memorial Day Weekend and was not sure what to expect after seeing the last review from May. The photo gallery and site map was what made my decision to stay at this campground. The site I really wanted was by the river, secluded, and was shady with lots of tree coverage...however, we were unable to get satellite reception. I can live without TV...but hubby cannot. So we moved to another site that had great reception but fewer trees. Site was long enough for 45 ft. RV and tow vehicle with room to spare. It was also level and still a great view of the river! We did not have any problems with the bridge noise or any other noises. The only place that prohibits pets was in the tenting spaces by the river and I totally understand that. The rest of the campground offered many acres of "pet friendly" areas that were shady, mowed often, and enjoyable for us as well! The owners were fantastic and very friendly!! We were there for a week and left feeling like family! Blue Heron Campground & Resort was a relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful place. We will be back to fly fish and relax on the White River at Blue Heron in the future! - flyfishgirl

Heads up.... I'm one honest reviewer. I believe in them & try to write them honestly. We had a river side site, would be nice if it were actually river side & not have tent camping in between. Read reviews that said "very pet friendly". I don't think that. Dog can't go near river, there is a pet area, not mowed, whole park was not mowed for Memorial Day weekend. We did have a full hook up site, not all are. Really loud area to camp, right by White River bridge heavily traveled day & night. Some sites are rather close to each other. No boat launch, have to travel to Cotter. He's working on it I believe. No fire pit at our site, but it was HOT anyway. Drive was long enough for 5th wheel, boat, truck. Aluminum picnic table at campsite, nice wooden ones at tent sites. Dump site was right in front of our campsite. I thought a strange place for dump site, in front of full hookup site. Didn't get any awful aroma, but campers do line up there to dump. Pretty little campground, not peaceful place though. Not real pet friendly. Heard vehicles hitting the metal plate on the bridge all night long. - AR Traveller

I called about 2 days before we arrived and manager told me that there were several sites available for the day we were checking in. He suggested that he could help us pick a great site since we were arriving early on Friday. We called when we arrived and he promptly met us at the laundry and took us to the site he thought we would like. It was beautiful and on the river. He was very helpful. The grounds were well manicured and facilities were clean. The sites had space between them. As soon as we arrived and hooked up, we found that our air conditioner wasn't working. We stayed until the following morning and decided to pack up and go home. We had paid for our 2 nights and we told him we were going back home. He said To remind him when we come back and he would give us a night free. He couldn't have been nicer. We will be returning as soon as possible. Can't wait! - sharonrn
May 2018 - $31.00
We travel with a truck camper and 20' cargo trailer (about 45' total). We had a pull thru site on the upper level which was long and pretty much level, gravel and grass. Very clean and quiet park (Tuesday night). Laundry room was clean and serviceable. Did not use the restrooms. Would definitely stay again. - EstherRV
Oct 2016 - $33.00
Very good gravel sites that backed up to White River. Good cable. Located next to Cotter Bridge. Park and boat launch across the river. Water level varies based on the number of generators running at Bull Shoals Dam. - DSK Texas
May 2012 - $35.00
Beautiful scenery. Friendly people. Has a super fishing guide. Space was very small and cramped. Difficult to back into, but lots of shade. Only 3 sites for RV's. No Wi-Fi and no cable TV in the RV sites. This resort is in a neighborhood. They asked guests to pick up after their pets, and we did, but the locals didn't. Despite the downsides, we would probably stay here again. - RubysMom
Jul 2010 - $22.00
Friendly staff, very helpful. Great fishing, Great bike riding. Fishing behind RV and tent sites. Narrow road in but big turn around area. Sites are shady, pads gravel but lots of grass and dirt. Tables and fire rings each site. - littlegeneral
Oct 2018 - $30.00
We stayed three nights. Staff extremely friendly and helpful when needing trees trimmed. We parked a 43 ft fifth wheel in site 114. Maneuvering through the park was tight. Would stay here again. - ro90u14
Jun 2013 - $25.00
This is a nice peaceful campground, a few steps from the river. It has a combination of short and long term residents. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Internet is fast, and available from several towers. Rest rooms and showers are very clean. The office is open till at least 6pm and includes a well stocked tackle shop. Sites have shade, and many are pull through. - Traveling man
Jul 2012 - $25.00
In town visiting family in Flippin and Yellville. Great location near the river, friendly staff. Most sites are shaded at some point during the day. Some great nearby restaurants if you need a break from cooking at the campground. Wal-Mart is maybe 20 minutes away. I'd come here again. - michigan40camper
Oct 2018 - $11.00
We walked in on a Wednesday. The office was closed so we picked out a spot right above the marina and stayed for 11 days. There are two camping areas to the park. Where we stayed by the water is more open, but still plenty of shade. Most of the spots had covered picnic tables, all had fire rings. The spots vary in pad length and patio size. It looked like a few could only accommodate smaller Class Bs or TTs. Our space was plenty big for our 27RKS and our sunset views of the dam were amazing. The larger area of the park was in the woods and also had various sized sites. Note that in both areas there are quite a few buddy-sites that if you aren't traveling with a friend in their own RV/tent, etc., they would NOT be good sites. Look closely at the map when making reservations or call the really nice gentleman at the office, There are a few sites in the wooded area that have sewer, but as someone else said earlier, this is not listed on the website. Although on the water, there really is no good place to fish from the park. There is a small beach area and there is a public boat launch. Make sure you pay attention to your GPS since there is only one very small sign on the main road for the park, and you can only see it when traveling from the east. - NovarroNomads
Oct 2017 - $19.00
A very nice park with what looks like a relatively new shower house. Sites are spacious and have lots of trees. I guess there's lots of seasonal sites as many were blocked off and not occupied. If you need to hook up to water, bring a very long hose. - MSSW
Sep 2016 - $10.00
Beautiful COE park. We had 50 amp service and water. Nicely shaded site with pretty lake view. Most of the campground is heavily wooded, and different sites have different amenities.
Loved the site we had, B16. - BWolfAR
Nov 2018 - $22.00
Real nice State Park with many campsites right on the river. We stayed in space 51 and had great river access for morning and evening walks. There is a top notch Visitor Center located next to the dam. It takes about an hour go go through everything, then outside to enjoy the views. For Coffee lovers, there is a Starbucks inside the Harps Grocery Store in Bull Shoals! - Davishouse2
Sep 2018 - $17.00
This is one of my two favorite campgrounds. Absolutely beautiful with the White River running rapidly on one side of the park. Trout fishing is spectacular and the marina (on site) rents kayaks, and fishing boats at a reasonable price. I had a FHU site right on the river and all the utilities were excellent. I thought I had a water issue, but valve must be turned all the way on to set the back flow preventer. Rangers were helpful and friendly. I wasn't the first that had had that issue, even today. Staff and check-in was easy and every one here is pleasant and friendly. Typical Arkansas hospitality. Bull Shoals is a little off the beaten path, but this is a great place to spend a week, any time of the year. - BWolfAR
May 2018 - $18.00
One of my favorite parks, EVER. This is a park designed by somebody who actually has camped in a camper. Lots are spacious, each full hook up site has a cement patio offset from the camp, perfect for setting up a sun shade. Some sites have overview of the river, but access to the length of the river is public. New area was being updated while we were there, doubling the number of full hook ups. The park information center is up the road, necessitating a drive, but is impressive. There are many activities available in the park, including those appropriate for children. I would have stayed all summer if they didn't have a fourteen day maximum. - Sheryl E

Aug 2018 - $35.00
We spent 5 nights and everything was great. Loved the pool and game room. Very close to Bull Shoals Lake, and new owners. More people need to find this place. Full hookups are hard to locate in this area. They have it all. - Forbes
Aug 2011 - $12.00
This park has recently changed ownership (and name from Cedar Hollow to Heart O' the Ozarks) and the PA advertised price of $9.25 is not honored. Their new PA one-night only price is $12.50. This campground evidently has a very bad reputation to overcome (as the owners can attest). Some elderly local residents try to dissuade us as we were pulling in, but being dusk we decided to give it a try. Glad we did. There is a lot of work and money going into this facility. The store, pool, and game room/movie room are beautiful. The air-conditioned bathrooms were immaculate and tiled from floor to ceiling. The CG itself is now very clean and trimmed. The CG roads have been repaired and were plenty wide for our 29' MH with Ford Ranger in tow. However, the sites are right on top of each other and leveling the RV was a challenge. There are only 3 pull-through spots, but they are actually designated as 6 back-to-back spots. When they are vacant, they will allow you to use as a pull-through. The future plans for this CG sound very promising (new cabins and pavilion) and we wish the best of luck to the friendly new owners. This is definitely worth a look and a great value at the PA price. - Full-Time Roamers
Nov 2017 - $39.00
The park grounds are situated right on the White River and there is a large bluff on the opposite shore. It is very beautiful and quiet. However, this does not make up for the unlevel site, no cell service, very weak to non-existent wi-fi, no cable, no over the air t.v. channels or lousy sewer hook-ups. Bring a satellite dish, dvds or lots to read because there is nothing else for entertainment after dark. Also it is about a 20 minute drive to Gassville for the closest supplies. The shower house was basic painted cinder block construction and was generally clean. Make sure you wear some flip flops in the shower. The water pressure was o.k.
My travel trailer has black/grey water hookups that are a little closer to the ground than most RVs and the sewer connection was up hill from the hookups. I tried to dig a shallow trench to allow the hose to level out some, but the pvc sewer connection was about 3-4 inches higher than the ground. I could not use my folding hose support to make up for the uphill climb. The rigs next to me had already left, so I had to move my trailer over to a vacant spot to finish emptying my tanks. I had to use about 20 feet of sewer hose to reach the sewer. If your rigs hookups are 15 inches or so off the ground, you shouldn't have a problem.
The site was 3 inches unlevel from side to side and slopes to the river which made my rear steps really high when the trailer was level. I would recommend site 3, 4 or 5. They appeared to be the most level and spacious. The fifth wheel next to us was about 15 feet away from us, but it was ok. The excess parking is in a well manicured grass field across the road from our site. If there are other vehicles parked across from you when you try to pull out with your camper, it is very tight or impossible. Some folks actually pulled out through the field to leave and got back on the road after clearing the parked cars.
If you are trying to get away from the world, telephone and want total peace and quiet, this is your place. Fishing rules the camp and cooking on the campfire rules the day. If you need internet, cell service, a shorter drive to town, etc., there are better choices in Cotter, Flippin or Harrison. - Octane ZX
Sep 2016 - $28.00
This is the best park we have ever stayed at. Well worth the trip and the people are great. Great fishing and great facilities. - Allenb
Jul 2014 - $45.00
Quite, beautiful, and secluded. Stayed 3 nights, but could have stayed a month. Only complain: The RV is 13'4" tall. When I got to the park, I found low limbs going down drive. Climbed on top of my coach to keep limbs from damaging it. - Genecolleen
