1 Park near Gillham, Arkansas
May 2016 - $8.00
the rate reflects a 50% Federal Senior Pass. This is a very nice COE park on the Cossatot River just after it comes out of Gilham Lake Reservoir. It is showing its ware and could use some spiffing up, but still nice. You do not want to let your GPS guide you to this park. You will want to take the turn-off just north of Gillham on Highway 59 and follow the signs. It is well-signed on the Highway, then there is one well-signed left turn. It is always good paved road. Once you get to the park, the sign is confusing. You will want to take the right turn to get to the campground. Some of the sites are on a bluff above the river, others are a little away from the river and more wooded. We liked the river side for the view and for the sound of the river. We had good 50 amp service. You do share a water faucet with a neighbor, so do bring some extra hose. We were partly under trees, so had to use our portable satellite dish to get DirecTV. We had strong Verizon voice and data. The sites are large and level. Some sites can be reserved, others are first-come. You pay at the booth as you enter the campground area. This made an excellent stop for a few nights for us. We would stay again. - TheJim
Oct 2010 - $6.00
Though this was a nice area to stay overnight finding this campground was very difficult. We ended up on a locked gate road to Coon Creek and had to back up for 1/4 mile to turn around. Each campsite shares water with the next so have lots of water hose to get water to your RV. The stream running by was quiet and peaceful but after the adventure we had getting there I doubt we would try this spot again! - Gloria S.
