Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $40.00

We have stayed here twice, once in Oct. 2016 and Jan. 2017. The sites are level concrete pads with asphalt roads. Good WiFi. cable. water and sewer. Swimming pool which we didn't use is large and clean. When we were here in Oct. there was a Halloween party for the kids and a wine tasting for the adults. Needless to say we enjoyed the wine tasting better. The staff is very friendly. While here in Jan. we needed to stay an extra night because of snow and there was no problem with the stay. It is an easy drive into Hot Springs and there are several grocery stores and a big Walmart nearby. Also many restaurants to choose from. You will need to drive to these as they are about 2 miles away. There is also a boat ramp here. Very quiet and CLEAN. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the Buckstaff Bath House in Hot Springs...it is an experience. The Hot Springs National Park is also interesting. There is a "Gaming" parlor at the race track with many slots and table games. Good Restaurants in town. The Pancake House serves until 12:30...large, delicious breakfasts. The Ohio Club looks interesting but was closed in early Jan. for vacation. Did not eat here but everyone says it is good. Several shops and museums. There is a free parking deck across from the bath houses.

Not sure what happened to this place. The first time we were there it was amazing, quiet, clean and wonderful. This last time it was a living nightmare. We got stuck with people next to us who were screaming, yelling, harassing us when they discovered we complained. And it never stopped. Also had people flying drones over your head at 11pm taking pictures. Dogs barking non-stop. The place just turned into the Wild West. It was crazy. Tried to spend as much time on the trails as possible but at night - whoa. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Take advantage of the zip line, hiking trails, boats for rent and frisbee golf. There are too many drunks screaming around a fire at their RV to hang around for long. Wow.

This is a beautiful campground. We stayed in a waterfront site, quite pricey for this time of year at $59 plus tax bringing it to $65. The waterfront sites are very spacious and if it was warmer it would be nice to sit outside and enjoy the view. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park. Had a back in on the water and plenty of room between sites. Fire pit at the site too. At least 3 different hiking trails of various distance and zip lining adjacent to the property. Will definitely stay again. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a week for Thanksgiving. This is a very nice park. It has beautiful level sites with fire pits and grills and the entire park is clean. The cables and WIFI both worked well. The only negative I can say is that if you are coming from I30 and traveling on 270 west, don't make the turn onto Catherine Heights Rd. Go past that and get onto 70 and take that way in, especially if you have a big rig. The roads are tight and a lot of low tree branches. Like I said you can't go wrong staying there, the campground is beautiful. We would like to try this place out in the summer months. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Paved park with large paved sites. Wide roads, nice utilities and good wifi. Didn't like the unthreaded sewer connection-not air tight. Nice pool and office. We'd return. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

First this was the most expensive place we have stayed at. That being said it is a beautiful Very clean park. Nice wide asphalt roads, concrete pads. Ours was not quite level, sloped down to the river but not bad. Ours was a "water front" site, so more money. But we had some shade, the pull throughs in the middle of the park have zero shade. Lots of elbow room between sites. Our truck was angled up to the road when the trailer was where I wanted it. We were 50 amp and it worked fine. Water was good. Cable tv, mmm , not great , snowy, but it was there. I believe they use satellite. Wifi is slow but was very reliable. At&T cell service is one bar, maybe 2 if you act like a scare crow... The employees were nice. The fellow campers were the best we have ever experienced ! Very friendly and nice, but not overly so. I think everybody we met walking the dogs said hello with a smile. Talked to our neighbors from TX and AL alot. This I would say is a 'higher' end rv park, but by no means snooty... They have boat rentals, zip lines, hiking trails, but we didn't use them. Maybe next time. Overall we really liked it. Lots of grass to walk the dogs, (on leash of course) and a "ok" fenced dog park. The web site says its on Lake Catherine, but its actually a decent size river. Several places on the bank to fish if so inclined. Unless you like hilly winding roads with very narrow bridges, stay off Hwy 7 coming from the north. You Do Not want to meet a log truck on those bridges... We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit a Hot Spring Bath, we visited Quapaw and it was great. Visit the Welcome/Visitor Center which was previously a bath from the early 1900s. It has a lot of old photos, equipment front he years it was a bath, go to Superior Bath House which is now a restaurant. Visit the Mountain View Tower for the view. Be sure to go to Garvan Woodlands Gardens, a beautiful area. We had a very good lunch at the Ohio Club. If traveling with a dog and need a good day care, Bark Central was wonderful.

Stellar RV experience!
This campsite is all that the website promises - spacey campsites, grill pits, picnic tables, excellent pool area, wonderful pool and guest facilities, right on the water and surrounded by trees, although there were no trees on the campsites. It is close to Hot Springs, so it can easily be used as a base to tour the area, but it is nice enough to just settle in and enjoy the campsite. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Overall we enjoyed our stay here, although there were some drawbacks.

We met some family members who stayed in a yurt. They also recently added tent camping sites.

Positives:
-Without question, this is a very clean, well kept park. Bathrooms exceedingly clean.
-Felt very safe. Of all the RV parks we've stayed in (have been RV'ing for 1.5 years), they had a nice mix of mid to upscale RVs and patrons. More upscale, higher end RVs then we've seen at other parks. They do have some people that stay for the season.
-Friendly staff.
-Well stocked store with mix of food, drinks, t-shirts, etc.
-Nice sized entertainment room in the lodge.
-Awesome zip line on the premisis (cost extra).

Downsides:
-no shade. Anywhere. Except by the yurts and tents.
-Barbeque pit too close to the patio, could cause awning damage. We needed to retract ours to prevent damage.
-The orientation of the parking spots was such that the afternoon sun beat right down on you.
-The lake is more like a river in the area that goes by the RV sites.

In about 15 years, once the tiny planted trees get big, this place will be such a treat if they can maintain the rest of their current standards. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

In town, we really enjoyed going to the Max Blade magic show. The Purple Cow has the best milkshakes **ever**, even some "adult" shakes with spirits mixed in. Also if you have kids, check out the Mid-America Science Museum. This was top notch.

Newish RV park, concrete drives and grass, spotless, clean, very friendly staff and grounds folks. A great place for kids and families, some sites on Lake Catherine and you can rent pontoon boats, bicycles, canoes, fishing guides, etc. Large pool and play area, rec/TV room, pavilion, exercise gym, cabins. Picnic tables, fire pits &barbecue at each site.Trash pickup. BUT follow their suggested directions to get to the park which is about 12 miles from Hot Springs downtown. But the development is down a curving road, through residential areas. Huge trees and we enjoyed our 2 night stay. But you must drive to get into town. Shopping everywhere, plus the hot springs within hotel style buildings. This property is part of a national chain of RV resorts, all newish. Escorted to site by staff and help offered getting settled if needed. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

This beautiful family vacation destination park is extremely well laid out for all sized RV units. With the Yurts, Cottages, Tent Camping and RV sites, there are accommodations for all types of camp opportunities. We were intrigued with the interior road names like Half n Half, Buttermilk, 2 Percent and our road of Holy Cow. It all makes sense when you learn the park was built on the historic Humphreys Dairy cow pasture. The old dilapidated dairy structure is still standing across the street from the entrance to the RV park and makes for an interesting photo. Because shopping and tourist attractions are driving distance, would recommend a car. As mentioned in previous reviews, this is a really nice park. The paved sites are roomy, hookups work great, trash is picked up daily at your site, and bathrooms were clean. Our site was near the launch, so it was easy to get our kayaks in the water. They rent kayaks, canoes and boats, as well as bikes and golf carts. Would have given this park a 10, but the equipment in the laundry was in sad shape. One of the 4 washers was out of order, and another guest said it had been like that when she arrived 3 weeks ago. While a $1 to wash and $1 to dry is more than reasonable, this park is so impressive it was a bit disappointing. Having said that, we would definitely come again and would recommend this park to anyone coming to this area. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

Would highly recommend spending at least a few hours at Garvan Woodland Gardens. The gardens are beautiful and the Anthony Chapel is an architectural piece of artwork. Lake Catherine State Park is also beautiful, has several well marked hiking trails, and entrance to the park is free.

This was our second stay @ Catherine's landing, both stays June '15 and '16 were excellent. Very pretty, clean, and just a pleasant place to stay. Each visit we were attending our family reunion so I look forward next year to going a few days early to just enjoy the park. I did notice they are adding things each year. This year they had added new trees next to some of the sites and the disc golf was open. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

A beautiful place. It is on the shore of Lake Hamilton with a boat ramp in the park. Easy check-in, well marked roads. Very impressive park. Staff was excellent, and the area was very clean. They offer trash pick up twice daily. The angled sites are very easy to get back into. This is a great place to stay while visiting Hot Springs. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Fifth Wheel.
