Needed a place to tuck in for the night between Little Rock and New Orleans. Not much to choose from on US 65. Saw reviews weren't bad so thought we would try. Had rained very hard in area the night and morning before our arrival. Should have gone past! Place was a mud hole! Asked for a concrete pad site (they only have 4 of them). But, didn't realize you need to drive across grass to get on the pad. Came very close to getting stuck in the mud! They need to get a semi or two full of gravel in here. Roads are dirt, so huge puddles of water everywhere. Cable didn't work, and wifi was non-existent. Most everyone in park are living here, and most are pretty shabby. Woman in office was very nice, which was about the only good thing about this place. We won't stay here again because of the conditions. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If you have a bigger rig, the interior road are very narrow and turns are sharp. Our site was just grass but very close to dead level. The view of the lake just across the highway provides a great view. However, the highway (US 65) is well traveled and the big truck are LOUD. Have earplugs or a white noise machine if your site is the one closest to the highway like ours was. We chose it because it offered room enough for us to turn the 54 feet of our rig and towed. The management is very friendly and helpful. The park is kind of rustic with some nice very mature trees at its west side. Utilities were fine, but the water hookup was difficult to get to. WI-FI has a few hiccups but otherwise was fine. There is no cable but OTA offered NBC,ABC, and a few other less watched channels. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

We needed to find an overnight stop traveling from Mobile to SW Arkansas. This park fit the bill with grassy sites and easy access from Highway 65. The grounds are mown and maintained. There are numerous full-time units but plenty of spaces for those staying a night or two. We would stay here again if traveling this route in SE Arkansas. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Lake Village is 2-3 miles to the north. There is a variety of restaurants there and places to purchase things. Lakeside Drive to the east side of town is a nice drive.

Our preferred stopping point when returning home from visiting friends in Mississippi. Staff are always pleasant and accommodating. Park is quiet, spots are level and all pull-throughs with comfortable distance between parking spots. WiFi reception used to be an issue here, but they've got boosters installed throughout the park. Our only criticism is that maintenance and improvements don't get done in a timely manner. We stopped here in January and were told they had the WiFi boosters and just hadn't installed them. When we booked our reservation, we were told the boosters had just been installed. The bath house door knob fell off in my wife's hand in January; it still hasn't been replaced. Caution: if you're pulling a trailer or toad, recommend asking for a spot on the first, second, or fourth row. We were in the third row and the turn to the right when leaving puts you really close to a utility tower. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Next door to the park is a convenience store that also sells ice and diesel. If you're going west or north on departure, you'll have to cross a four-lane road to fuel up. If going east, suggest you fuel up before the park so you're ready to go in the morning.

Fairly close to the highway, but it did quiet down somewhat later in the evening. Sites were level and there was lots of open space among the pecan trees. Not far from the lake which is just across the hwy. Staff was very helpful. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second time staying here. Prior stay was February 2017. It is a large park with close to 100 sites plus cabins to rent. Easy access into park and roads in park are good. Check in was fast and friendly. As the name suggests it is in a pecan grove and you can purchase them in the gift shop. There are a number of permanent residents, most are kept up. The overnight spots are all gravel pull-throughs with full hookups. Park is clean. Sites are about average width. There is laundry and a bathhouse on site as well as a fish cleaning station. Small playground and across the road is a boat ramp and fishing deck. Lots of places to walk the dog and a small fenced in dog run. There are trashcans throughout the park and are checked every day. We were in Site 13, level, 50 amp electric and no issues with hook ups. It was just long enough for our 37-foot Class A and tow-dolly, we had to park our car in an empty site. WiFi was good and our Verizon signal was okay. There is road noise from Hwy 65/82, but it quiets down at night. We stayed March 11-14, 2018. We paid $32.00 with our Good Sam Discount. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice size privately owned park. Our pull thru gravel size was extra long and level. Quite a few permanent residents but park is clean and convenient to Hwy. 65. Large lake right across the street. Free wi-fi and cable, picnic table, playground and cabins are also available. Good pace for an overnight stay. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Wonderful parkl While it has an area for long-term/resident stays, there's a large area of spaces for overnight/short term stays. All spots I could see were flat and so close to level we didn't even bother with our jacks. Parking spots area grass and marked by wood borders, which lend a nice rustic appearance. Grass is closely mowed with no weeds showing anywhere. Dirt roads are level with no ruts. Plenty of room to walk dogs. Park shows lots of care. Cable TV was a nice bonus. WiFi not the strongest, but it sufficed for our needs. There were few people the night we stayed. The spaces could feel a little close, but we've stayed in a lot tighter places. The older reviews that have a negative tone are 180 degrees out from out very positive experience. We'd gladly stay there again. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We visited this campground in June of 2017. Our first impression was good. The Mississippi River was across the street running parallel to the park. First appearances showed that most of sites were level and pull-through, dirt and grass surface. It was a rainy day and we understood rain puddles here and there.

We had to use the restrooms before completing hookups. Here's where we changed our minds. The bathrooms, showers, and laundry were housed in the same building, quite a distance from road next to the grassy area that led to building. There was no walkway to the building, had to walk through tall wet grass (6-8" high). A screen door/porch entry allowed excess to the facilities within. Upon opening screen door there was an obvious odor of urine present. The laundry room (upon peeking in) had a musty smell. All facilities within this building were outdated. The garbage containers were without lids and the one next to our site had holes in the sides with garbage open to air and falling through holes. Being Good Sam Members we were "embarrassed," how could this happen. We need say no more. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stay here when going to Florida and unhook and drive to Greenville, MS to the famous Doe's Eat Place for an awesome steak, salad and hot tamales. Make a reservation or call for take out! Also Paul Michael's is next door! Sorry hubby's!! Or eat from the COWPEN.

Price included tax and was given a Good Sam's discount. It had been raining and the park was basically flooded. We didn't realize how bad it was until we had paid for one night. I was given the wrong site # so we had to go back to the office to get the correct one. Roads were narrow as were the campsites. Couldn't get on the wifi. Grass needed to be mowed, but since it had rained for several days, we overlooked that part. Quiet and not a lot of road noise. The worst part was the mosquitoes. They had control of the entire area. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a very quaint, peaceful spot that is beginning to fall apart. Which is a shame, as a lot of the 100 year old pecan trees are dying and on every tree there are limbs that have either fallen, or blown down from storms or rot. We tried pull-through spot number 2 and the power didn't work so we were told to hook up to number 3 next to us as the husband of the park was tired and busy cutting up and hauling away pieces of one of their huge pecan trees. In about an hour we got a power surge and it fried our inverter box filling the coach with burnt electrical insulation smell. We spent the rest of the evening rewiring our coach to limp home and during the night it rained hard, so there were puddles lined up right outside our door to splash in and jump over. We stayed here 4 years ago and it needed gravel put down back then, but for whatever reason, no money seems to be going back into the park for updates. We seemed to be the only ones with electrical problems though, so it may have been just our time. If I were to recommend anyone staying here, I'd advise against parking underneath any of the pecan trees. The owners are pleasant folks and it's right across from the lake and boating and fishing, but the dock is also falling apart. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

We overnighted here on our way through. We like this park better than others in the local area. The sites are level gravel, grassy, dirt. The area is partially shaded by old pecan trees. They no longer provide much shade to many of the sites due to past wind damage. The park provides a launch ramp into Lake Chicot for campers. No reservations are made. They have lots of sites. You pick your site on a first come basis. We camped at Pecan Grove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
