Beautiful park! It is very well maintained. Most sites you are able to see the river. Not really a bad site in the park. You will need reservations for this park. We arrived without reservations on a Wed night and wanted to stay through the weekend but were unable to because they full. There is 50amp and water at every site. We will certainly be back! We camped at Maumelle COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent COE campground with easy access to Little Rock. Our site was on the river and we got to watch the barge traffic on the river. The site was quite large with plenty of room for our 50 pound dog. AT&T cell phone was good as was Verizon MiFi. Dish TV was not accessible through the trees, but we were able to get OTA TV easily. We have stayed here before and will stay here again if we are in the Little Rock area. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Across the country this is our favorite park. Easy access from the city wide paved roads throughout the park. Spacious shaded sites, river views that are just wonderful. You need to choose your site carefully for satellite usage. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Motorhome.

Had a quick 2-night stay while we were in town for the Miss Arkansas Pageant (our friend was a contestant). Love the sites in section A, right near marina with the big boats, easy access to river. No sewer on sites except those reserved for UAMS Medical Staff in the center of the loop. Other loops farther downriver are excellent too, and close to restroom/showers. Pick your more open spots next to river (with good shade trees and covered picnic tables) or up in the deeper woods with tons of shade. Great walking thru camping and park areas. Nice asphalt sites. Clean, so clean. Nice paved roads throughout park. Love Maumelle. Want to come back and explore serious fishing on Arkansas River. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Love the river access. GEESE everywhere though, so watch your step while walking. Right now the road to Maumelle between AR10 (Cantrell) and the park is under repair in places. You have single lanes to negotiate, and the road is rather bumpy, but we made it fine. Just be aware, and when the work is done, it will be so much better.

COE parks are always a great value & some maintained better than others. This park is very wooded with lots of tall trees. We were in site D5 which is laid out in a chicken foot design (3 pads angled off of straight lane). If you are counting on satellite reception, you need to be on the river in the sites numbered in the 30's. We used the entrance dump station when we arrived, but when we left, that dump station was closed for repair. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Motorhome.

It was a little different experience in that anyone could freely move in and out of the campground without notice. I just expected something with a little more security since Little Rock is a metro area. The canopy of trees was nice for shade. The campground is very quiet. My kids loved the playground and riding their bikes. I would have enjoyed having a site along the river for the beautiful view. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Travel Trailer.

Maumelle Corps of Engineers Park, just outside of LIttle Rock, offers gorgeous views of the Arkansas River. The river is about 3/4 a mile wide and flows steady and strong. Add a forest of tall mature trees and you have one beautiful park. This park has four rv loops; some with 30 amp and water and other sites with 50 amp and water. I noticed some full-hook up sites that are marked for use of those with medical passes; I assume to help those who are in town for medical treatment in Little Rock, which is a very nice service for the park to offer. The interior roads are asphalt and easy to maneuver for any size rig. Sites are either concrete or asphalt and each has a concrete patio with a gravel frame, a picnic table and fire ring. Utilities were conveniently located on the sites and in good working order. There are three dump stations on the property and well as several covered large-group pavilions. Our site needed only a little assistance from us to be level. There are several sites which are "Y" shaped for those who have friends/family in separate rigs to share a spot. All sites were spacious, offering ample privacy. Restroom/Showers were clean, thanks to the diligence of the Park Hosts. We were able to connect to satellite and had great coverage on both Verizon and AT&T. We only had one night there, but wish we could have spent more time in this lovely park. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a boat dock in the park. A Marina which does not appear to be a part of the park is located towards the end of loop A - it did not distract from the park in my opinion.

We reserved online (highly recommended, as the park was fairly full mid-week) and chose a pull-through with 50A. When we arrived the check-in process was quick and we headed for our site following the people who were supposed to be next to us. When we got down there, they had decided the turns were too tight for them, so instead of just following the loop around and exiting, they unhooked their toad and took an HOUR to get themselves out of our way. We managed to get our rig into our spot, and it wasn't a cake walk due to the placement of large rocks at the entry corners, but we managed. The rest of the roads in the park seemed spacious, it's just that little section of B pull-thrus that can be tight. Dump station access was easy as we were leaving. The park is gorgeous, right on the river. Lots of trees and shade, several playground areas with old, large swingsets - the kind adults can use! The roads in the park are paved, so it's nice to ride bikes around. We would definitely stay here again. Pinnacle Valley Road was having construction work done, we managed fine in our large rig. Hopefully it will be wider when they're finished. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Great COE park on the Arkansas River a few miles NW of Little Rock, AR. Many sites are Riverfront. Fishing is good for Catfish. Cell service good. Several loops, 3 dump stations. Some pull throughs with sewer connection but they won't be waterfront. Some large trees, but not forest, satellite mostly doable. Some sites have covered picnic tables which is nice. This is a great place to to stay. Big rig friendly. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here overnight after picking up our Airstream from repairs at the dealer. We were struck by the open, sprawling layout and proximity to most of the main thoroughfares in Little Rock. This is great basecamp for every age in the family. It stays busy, so reservations are a must. Someone commented riverside sites require 6 mo. ahead of time. The best site in the park to us was A18, because it was set apart from other sites, with a grand view of the river and within eye view of the park so parents could keep an eye on kiddos playing. We would have stayed at A12-17 and B30-37 as well, at the riverside, but for anglers the A sites were better for fishing from the bank. A word of caution, our GPS wasn't kind and directed us down a narrow residential road that was hairy backing up. Don't use Pinnacle Valley Road into the park, it is narrow, with drop offs and is too tight for most big trucks let alone a trailer or big rig. Use Chenal Pwy/AR 300 that passes by the entrance to the base of Pinnacle Mountain, then the sign for the entrance to Pinnacle Mountain Visitor Center is a quarter mile past that on the right. It leads directly to the entrance of Maumelle Park. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Travel Trailer.

While the park as a whole is very nice, I was very disappointed that the online map, which I used to pick my site, was not accurate. I was in D7 which online was a river-side site. Reality was that it is across a road and large parking lot from the river and, on top of that, is a triple site where the other two sites are very close. Great if you are a group camping but way too close for individual campers - especially in a COE park! Our friends picked A11 which also shows as a river-side site. While it is on the river, that section of the river has a covered boat dock/storage building that blocks all views for at least four sites, maybe more. Otherwise our site was fairly level. We would return but are now better prepared to pick a site that suits our needs. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Tent Trailer.

Our Good Sam Chapter stayed 4 days for one of our campouts. This park is great! One thing I noticed was a couple of 30 amp recips on the sites were bad; no power (I think the circuit breaker was bad.) Each site had a great picnic table and fire ring. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Motorhome.
