Nice COE Park just outside Little Rock. The B Loop has nice spots by the river and are very nice to have a relaxing evening outside by its banks, however the spots on the south end of the B Loop have lots of vegetation and your view of the river is blocked. If you want to be back in the trees I recommend staying in the western end of the C Loop. The sites in the A and F Loop are a lot closer together and the A Loop has several "long term" sites for campers visiting the hospitals in Little Rock. There could be a few more dumpsters in the park and the playground is older and a bit lacking. Many OTA stations as Little Rock is close by and cell service (AT&T) was fine. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Motorhome.

The rate reflects a 50% senior pass discount. This campground worked very well for us while visiting Little Rock. It gave us a quiet place with shade for returning to every evening. The sites are well spaced so that you have some breathing room. We did not use the facilities but the park itself was clean and well-kept. It is heavily treed, but using our portable dish and 100 feet of cable, we were able to find a hole for satellite. Verizon was adequate for data and voice. We would return if in the area again. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very large COE campground. Most sites are very level, and shaded or partially shaded. A few sites in the interior of the campground are sloped front to back. Camper pads are asphalt, picnic table and fire ring areas are gravel bordered by timbers. Site spacing is typical for a COE park, but the park is big so there are a lot of shaded, grassy "common areas" for throwing a Frisbee or walking your dog. This park is bicycle friendly and has a fairly long paved nature trail. Check in was quick and to the point; the park hosts were friendly and helpful. Most of the riverside sites are about 40 feet from the water's edge. Makes for a great grassy sitting area next to the river for watching pleasure boats and barges. However, the grassy area behind the sites are separated from the river by 3-6 feet of weeds and growth that keep it from being suitable for kayak or canoe launching. There is a boat ramp in the campground. Site lengths are accurate on the Recreation.gov website. Longer sites for big rigs are on the interior of the campground. Sites are electric and water only, with a few full hook-up exceptions (see the tips comment). Interior roads are wide and in good shape; easy to navigate. There is a fairly heavy tree canopy, so satellite reception is 50/50 for a fixed dish, but likely OK if you have a portable dish. OTA TV is good, Verizon coverage is 5 out of 5. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park on the Arkansas River. Well kept and spacious sites. Very good Verizon, local TV, and satellite reception. I would rate this park a 10 but there's two negatives to note. First, there's a squirrel infestation. Second, the park allows gray water to be released at the sites. Alone, these problems are minor. But together they can cause a serious bacteria problem that could be an issue for those with immune disorders, i.e. chemo therapy. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park. Beautiful setting on the river. Clean and very well laid out. Quiet with only the sounds of the river and critters scurrying around. Very serene stay. Reservation was easy to make, host was friendly, courteous and professional. Only one gripe: no sewer hookups at the majority of the campground. Just dump stations. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Motorhome.

It was a little different experience in that anyone could freely move in and out of the campground without notice. I just expected something with a little more security since Little Rock is a metro area. The canopy of trees was nice for shade. The campground is very quiet. My kids loved the playground and riding their bikes. I would have enjoyed having a site along the river for the beautiful view. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed one night in site A17. It was a lovely site with trees and looked out over the Arkansas River. The site was level, clean, and roomy. There was plenty of room for our 32' trailer and mega cab pickup. There was a bath house just across the road, however there was no soap at all in the bathrooms. Not just empty, gone. Our site didn't have sewer, but looking around at nearby sites, others did. I was a little bummed that I didn't notice this when I booked it. It wasn't much of an issue, the park had at least 2 dump stations. We used them and never had to wait. I really liked the late checkout time (3 pm), as this allowed us to spend more time exploring without our RV in town. The playground was adequate (we have small kids so this is important :), but there were a lot of people there, some cars pulling up with kids in them (not sure if they were staying there or not), so we felt inclined to watch our kids close. The kids did enjoy watching ducks and geese on the water, found some shells on the banks of the river. No TV but we found several stations on antenna. Site was quiet at night. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Travel Trailer.

While the park as a whole is very nice, I was very disappointed that the online map, which I used to pick my site, was not accurate. I was in D7 which online was a river-side site. Reality was that it is across a road and large parking lot from the river and, on top of that, is a triple site where the other two sites are very close. Great if you are a group camping but way too close for individual campers - especially in a COE park! Our friends picked A11 which also shows as a river-side site. While it is on the river, that section of the river has a covered boat dock/storage building that blocks all views for at least four sites, maybe more. Otherwise our site was fairly level. We would return but are now better prepared to pick a site that suits our needs. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Tent Trailer.

It had been a few years since my last visit to this park. I was happy to find that it is still a great place to stay in the Little Rock area. The abundant shade trees are great and really helped since the temperature was between 95 and 100 most afternoons. The streets and parking pads are paved and mostly level. My only complaint during this stay is that the grass was pretty tall when I arrived and no grass cutting was done anywhere in the park during the 5 days I was there. Utilities and dump station worked as expected. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Travel Trailer.

This park is located right outside of Little Rock. Being a COE park you won't get full blown amenities such as wiring or sewer hookups. But all in all its a great place for a weekend camp, right on the Arkansas river. Folks that work there are friendly and helpful. Clean level sites with massive spacing between them (most). Asphalt pads and water and electric. Bath houses are clean but older. Overall a great place to stay. We camped at Maumelle COE in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 4 nights at Maumelle. The site (C9) was well shaded and level side to side. It was sloped to the back which made leveling front to back a bit interesting. The grass had not been mowed in some time when we got there but they began to mow after the weekend. The campground was very quiet. When I had problems with the 30 amp breaker tripping due to the heat, the attendant was very little help. He shrugged it off and suggested I drive 20 miles to an RV store to buy a 50 amp adapter.
