Park rangers were extremely friendly & helpful. The park offers a 25% Senior discount, not offered online, but gave it to use when we arrived. Site was clean. Sites are nicely spread out in Loop A but not in the other campgrounds. Never saw the hosts, except when they were sitting outside their trailer. They kept to themselves, would have been nice if they had stopped by as other hosts have at other parks. Power went out and they said they knew nothing. The campers found out who the electric company was and called for information. This should have been their job to keep the park informed, instead of a camper telling them. Great hiking trails. Didn't use the pool for it was closed for the summer. We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wonderful setting, nicely laid out sites, clean, quiet, peaceful. No wifi but good cell service. Great well marked hikes, but no swimming! Shame with a nice lake but, oh well. Sites are far from level but very acceptable. We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

What a beautiful park! So much to do there. Bring your bikes or be ready to drive. Great hiking with waterfalls, lakes, pictographs, and beautiful rocks and trees all at your fingertips. We stayed for a week and didn't leave the park. Full hookup in this state park was such a treat. Very spacious between sites and lots of privacy. The sites at least in loop A were all designed to have the door to your trailer facing nature and away from other trailers. Playground, pool, concrete trails, hiking trails, what more could you want? We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful state park! The hiking was fantastic. We were in B Loop, site #48, and it was not a good site. The pad was dirt, with some ruts from the previous camper. The water connection was on the awning side. The picnic table was on the sewer connection side and the patio was behind the camper. We couldn't sit under our awning because the site slipped down right where you step out of the camper. Most water connections in Loop B were on the wrong side. This Loop has wooded sites, but most pads were broken asphalt. If you have a larger camper, stay away from this Loop - good only for pop ups and tents. We rode around Loop A and it was gorgeous. Hard to get a reservation there! Also, no laundry facilities. Nearest laundromat is in Perryville, about 12 miles down the mountain. Of course, there is nothing else in Perryville! We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A beautiful state park. My site was in Campground A, site 22. Terrific lake and forest views. The park itself has many attractions including hiking trails from strenuous to easy. The lake has several types of fish including Crappie(Good eating). Went to a large waterfall today pouring water into a huge grotto, was a spectacular hike. The lodge is a CCC style building with a terrific restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner reasonably priced in a great setting. The park employees are helpful and courteous. My site was FHU and everything was working exactly as it should. Water pressure at 50 psi, 121 volt 50 amp service with no issues. We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots to do here. Go to the Automobile museum and see Rockefellers cows. Many 1930 CCC sites. Russellville is about 25 miles and same with Conway so bring what you need as shopping here is limited.

Beautiful park, possibly the best I've ever visited. We spent 3 nights in Campground A, which is full hookups. This loop has huge campsites with paved patios and a second gravel pad in case you need to pitch a tent for part of your group. Our site was a pull-through on the edge of the campground facing a small stream and also had a view of the lake. You also may get to watch an airplane taking off from the airport across the lake. Loop A is definitely most desirable. Loop B has water & electric but the sites are much smaller. Loops C & D also have water & electric but looked more suitable for tents than RVs. There are wonderful hiking trails for all ability levels and there are overlooks to drive to. We attended several nature programs that were well presented. Staff members were friendly and helpful. We can't wait to come here again! We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Anyone can go to the Cedar Falls overlook since it has an ADA accessible boardwalk. If you like to hike, take the Seven Hollows Trail. It has streams, waterfall, glades, interesting geology and is not as crowded as the trail to Cedar Falls. If you like history, go to Rock House Cave to see the cave paintings. Visit Petit Jean gravesite overlook and/or Red Bluff Drive overlooks for awesome views of Arkansas River valley. Watch the sunset at Mather Lodge.

Huge, immaculate park. More activities than we could experience in 2 days. Great hiking, beautiful falls, lots of historical landmarks, really cool lodge. This was our second trip to Petit Jean State Park. The first time, we stayed right on the lake (Loop C, I think). Those were amazing sites. This time we were across the road in loop B. Sites were OK, but not nearly as nice as being on the lake. We had a harder time than usual getting level and the water/electric were on opposite sides of the site. We were not able to use the Dish (too many trees), but there were a handful of OTA channels. AT&T cell worked fine, Sprint did not. Other than that, there are a lot of great hikes and bike rides you can take in this park. You can also go up to the lodge (1.5 mile walk) for a nice breakfast in the morning! We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Motorhome.

Area A has all the highly desirable sites for large trailers and motor homes. Book well in advance if you want a weekend. I stayed from Sunday through Thursday and was able to get a nice pull through with all the hookups. The programs presented by park interpreters are very good for both children and adults. The trails are very nice and there are so many that everyone can find one or more suited to their ability (even wheelchair accessible). The swimming pool is huge and had 3 life guards on duty as well as a slide and diving board. Pedal boat and fishing boat rentals are available. The restaurant at the lodge is fantastic. No trip is complete without a visit to the store about a mile east of the campground that sells fudge and ice cream. We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We like the park. It's beautiful and has lots of amenities for a state park. If you enjoy hiking or have a motorized wheelchair or a bike, this is a good place for you. The park rangers were all extremely nice and helpful. Lots of shade for the camping spots. However, we are physically unable to do a lot of hiking and don't own a motorized wheelchair. The closest camp spots to the pool and playground were a little over 1/4 mile away. That's too much of a hike for my husband. Many of the RV spots looked to be fairly level, but the one we were given was so sloped that even with our front levelers all the way out, we were still at a bad slope. Our refrigerator didn't want to cool due to that, so we only stayed the one night. Our daughter enjoyed the playground the one night we were there. We did not try out the pool. We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful treed park, we were unable to get a lake front site - definitely the preferred area for larger 5th wheels and motor homes ( Loop A). Our site was spacious but unlevel, several boards needed to rectify. Other sites appeared to be quite level. Park is clean and well laid out. Access to the sites is a breeze. However the mountain drive up / down may cause some trepidation. We had no problem - 41 ft motorhome towing jeep. Great paved walking / biking trail going from campground to several points of interest and lodge. Will definitely return. We camped at Petit Jean State Park in a Motorhome.
